NOTICES OF MEETINGS .

GRAF T . NEW FOREST LODGE , No . 319 .

ON Tuesday , tho 8 th inst ., the Officers and Bretheren of this Lodge held their regular monthly meeting at their Lodge room at tho Bug le Hotel , Lymington . In consequence of the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting being held on the same day at Basingstoke , where several of the New Forest members wero present , the attendance was nofc so numerous as nsanl . The ceremonies were impressively and

ably performed by the VV . M ., Bro . R . E . Jackman . This being the day of election of a Worsh ' pful Master , Treasurer and TyW for the ensuing year , the choice of tho brethren fell on Bro . C . R . Hayball as W . M ., on Bro . Post Master II . Doman ( for the 22 nd time ) as Treasurer , and on Bro . Bailey , who was unanimously re-Slect-ed Tyler of the Lodge . Bro . Patt Master LeRoy was also nnanimously

re-elected the Lodge ' s reptesentitive on the Provincial Charities Committee . The brethien decided to present Bro . R . E . Jackman , tbe retiring VV . M ., with * a Past Master's j -wel , ns a mark of their appreciation of his able conduct in the ohair during the past year . At the close of the proceedings the brethren adjourned to a banquet provided by Bro . Past Master Dore , and spent a pleasant evening together , breaking up at eig ht p . m . in time for the Inst evening train ,

Many good wishes were exproesed tbat the new W . M . ' s year of offico might be as happy and prosperous as that which is about to close . A sum of five guineas was voted to the Lodge fund in aid of the Masonio Charitable Institutions . During the proceedings the Lodge was cheered by the news that Bro . LeRoy had bsen appointed Grand Provincial Director of Ceremonies for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight—a mark of preferment with whioh the brethren of his Lodge were exceedingly well pleased .

ZETLAND LODGE , No . 603 .

A PARTY of brethren belonging to this Lodge , together with a few brethren from other Lodges , journeyed from Cleckheaton to Snaith for the purpose of visiting Carlton Towers , the seot of Lady Beaumont . Amongst those who accompanied the party were Bros . S . H . Stocks P . P . G . D ., Geo . Crossley P . M ., H . Holroyd P . M ., G . Haliday W . M ., S . Mortimer P . M ., F . Hirst J . W ., G . Blackburn

had seen . They also took the opportunity of looking over fie Parish Chnrch . After t a tho remainder of their tiny was spent in a convivial manner , and the party left by train , having spent a most enjoyable day .

THE regular meeting of this Lodge was held in tho Masonio Room , George Hotel , Glastonbury , on Thursday , the 27 th ult ., under the presidency of Bro . Hitchings Davie ? , snpported by the Officers of the Lodge . The visitors included the VV . M . and Brethren of Lodge Lore and Honour , 285 ( Shepton Mallet ) , and the W . M . and Brethren of

Benevolei t Lodge , 446 ( Well ?) . Provincial Grand Officers ard Patt Masters of the Province of Somerset , attended in good number ? . The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed ,

together with letters aad messages expressive of regret from meinbers unavoidably absent , the ceremony of opening and closing in the three degrees were ably and impressively rendered , after whicb the brethren spent a pleasant hour together in social intercourse .

proposed the Officers of the Lodge , which Bros . Flanagan and Clowes acknowledged . Tho Masonio Charities was proposed by B : o . W . E . Challinor . To thia toaat Bro . W . Allen , us Charity Steward , responded in a very interesting speech , explaining tho founding of the Girls' and Boys' Schools one hundred years ago , and also of tho Royal Masonio Benevolent Institution for aged Freemasons and widows of Freemasons . Ho spoke of tho excellent frco education received by tho uirla and

boy ? , and stated that 203 of the former and 268 of the latter were entirely provided for in the schools . Furl her , that 193 poor Masons aud 240 widows of Freemasons were receiving pensions for life , aud that tho amount expeuded upon these institutions amounted in tho aggregate to between £ -10 , 000 and £ 50 , 000 per annum . The proceedings terminated with tho Tyler ' s toast . The Town Band , nnder the baton of Mr . J . Lee , played an excellent selection of musio iu front of tho Hotel durius ; the evening .
