THE INSTITUTIONS , & c .

Royal Masonic Institution for Girls . THE annual visit of the Stewards and friends to the School at Battersea Rise took place on Monday of last week , when a numerous and brilliant company assembled . The principal event of the day was the

distribution of prizes to the successful pupils , and this duty was undertaken by the Countess of Lathom , who was accompanied by the Earl of Lathom , Lord and Lady Skelmersdale , fche Earl of Euston , & c . The distinguished

visitors were received by the members of the House Committee , headed by Sir John B . Monckton , chairman of the month ; the Secretary ; Miss Davis , the head Mistress of the School and other officials .

The programme included the usual niusieal entertainment by the pupils , a trio with forty-eight hands at eight pianos , and a duefc , wifch thirty-two hands , supplying the very best of evidence of the efficient tuition

given the children in this direction . The proceedings were brought to a conclusion with the Calisthenic and Marching exercises by the pupils , which called forth the customary applause .

We append a list of prize winners , ifc being explained that no Girl , however meritorious , can take more than three prizes , but this rale does not apply fco Gold or Silver Medals , or the Cambridge Local or College of
