REPORTS OF MEETINGS .
We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonic meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative to report Lodge or other proceedings .
CEAET : METEOPOLITAN . — : o : — CONFIDENCE LODGE , No . 193 .
THE members of this popular Lodge assembled on Monday , at Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet Street , under the presidency of Bro . B . Pennock W . M ., who was supported by Bros . T . Kington I . P . M ., G . Spice S . W ., J . W . Simeons J . W ., W . D . Kershaw P . M . Treas ., E . J . Davev P . M . Sec , W . Cutting S . D ., S . W . Fells 3 . D ., M . Baillie I . G ., T . Lough Organist , L . G . Reinhart Tyler ; Past Masters F . S . Plowright , Francis Haines , J . Smith , W . Belchamber ; Bros . M . Madders , 0 . H . Nash , H . Jones , 3 . Staal , 0 . Way , W . Haughfcon , G . T . Ward 2353 , Joseph L . Bendahan Grand Lodge of Massachusetts , J . Wynman , and others . After the minutes had been confirmed the Lodge was advanced to the second degree , when Bros . H . Jones , G . Barrett , and S . Forman were presented to the W . M . as Fellow Crafts , and were properly examined prior to raising , whioh ceremony was in due course gone through on their behalf , and they were received as Master Masons .
Bro . T . Burnell was entrusted and duly passed to the degree of Fellow Craft , after which Mr . Charles W . Leopard was introduced as a candidate , and the ballot having proved unanimous in his favour , he was regularly initiated .
The working of the Worshipful Master in the three degrees was most satisfactory , and the members of the Lodge are certainly to be congratulated on having so worthy a Mason to succeed the many distinguished Brethren who have presided over the destinies of this Lodge in the past . Bro . Ash made a handsome presentation to the Lodge , and on the proposition of Bro . T . Lough Organist , seconded by Bro . Kington I . P . M ., a vote of thanks was accorded him , the W . M . making a few suitable remarks in formally announcing the fact . Bro . Ash acknowledged the same .
Bro . Simeons J . W . proposed that the sum of ten guineas be voted from tbe funds of the Lodge to the lioyal Masonic Institution for Boys , to be added to the list of the W . M ., who will act as a Steward at the Centenary Festival . Bro . Kington I . P . M . seconded the vote , which was unanimously agreed to . Bro . Davey Sec . proposed certain additions to the Bye-Laws of the Lodge , concerning charity matters , Bro . Simeons seconded , and the same course was adopted in regard to special laws for country members , the different suggestions being agreed to .
The Lodge was then closed , and the Brethren repaired to the banquet room , where an excellent repast was provided , under the personal supervision of Mr . L . Barry , the new Manager of Bro . Clemow ' s famous Masonic establishment .
After dinner the customary toasts were given . Bro . Kington I . P . M . proposed the health of the Worshipful Master , who , he was sure , had shown marked ability that evening in rendering the three degrees in a really perfect manner . Bro . Pennock was not only a typical Englishman , but an excellent Mason . The W . M . returned sincere thanks for the kindness shown him , and was most pleased to hear he had given satisfaction . He hoped to continue to do so , and expressed his readiness to perform any amount of work the Brethren might put before him .
The toast of the Initiate was next given from the chair , the W . M . heartily welcoming the new member , and expressing the hope that he might become a prominent Brother among them . Replying , tho Initiate tendered sincere thanks to the W . M . and Brethren for their reception of him . He promised to act up to the lessons taught him that day , and hoped to show that the confidence reposed in him was well deserved .
In proposing the health of the Immediate Past Master the W . M . thanked him for the great assistance he had rendered in the work of the Lodge . Bro . Kington was one of the best Masons it was possible to find , and well deserved their heartiest greetings . The toast was well received , and Bro . Kington returned thanksreferring
, to different matters concerning the Lodge , particularly the suggested Ladies ' banquet , which he advised the Brethren would be in good hands it leit to the direction of the W . M . —himself a married man , and consequently better qualified to arrange for the enjoyment of the fair sex than poor bachelors could possibly be .
The Visitors of the Lodge were next toasted , the W . M . expressing the pleasure of himself and fellow members at being able to accord a welcome to the guests of the evening , who he hoped had all enjoyed themselves , despite the fact , that the meeting was only an ordinary one—not an Installation or anything special to attract visitors . The members were always pleased-to see guests from other Lodges , who were ever welcome to the gatherings of the Confidence .
Bro . Ward tendered his thanks for the kind reception accorded him . He had enjoyed his visit immensely , which was not to be wondered at in view of the true fellowship existing among the members , led by the excellent example of the W . M . It must be a matter fer satisfaction to any Initiate who joined such a Lodge . Bro . Woodcock followed , also expressing his gratification . It was not the first time he had visited the Lodge , and he hoped it would not be the last , for he was delighted at having the opportunity of witnessing such working as had been performed that night .
Bro . Batchelor also replied , referring to the Initiate as a personal friend , and predicting that he would become an excellent Mason . Other guests added a few words of thanks and appreciation . Succeeding toasts were the Past Masters , the Treasurer and Secretary — ¦ wh om the W . M . regarded as most efficient workers , ever ready and willing to assist to the best of their abilit y—and the other Officers of the Lodge , each of whom responded in turn . The Tyler ' s toast brought the very successful meeting to a conclusion .

The Auditors' report and balance sheet were adopted , and ordered to be printed . Ballots were taken for Mr . Bridger aud Mr . Harris , who were subsequently initiated .
The Lodge was opened in the second degree , and Bros . Cornwell , LeSuear , Nash , and Willey were passed , and then the Lodge was called off and on . The ceremony of Installation of Bro . Chas . Robinson was next proceeded with . The Board of Installed Masters was opened and closed . Master Masons , Fellow Crafts , and Entered Apprentices were admitted , seriatim , and saluted the new ruler in due form .
The W . M . appointed and invested his Officers as follow : Bros . Justin Allen S . W ., H . T . Gomm J . W ., W . Eydmann Treas ., J . T . Larkman Secretary , H . T . Johnson S . D ., H . Worth J . D ., A . E . Furness I . G ., H . R . Roper D . C ., E . Eydmann , and T . H . Dorey Stewards , John Gilbert Tyler . The retiring Master , who had carried out the whole of the ceremonies , then gave the addresses .
A sum of fifteen guineas was voted from the Lodge funds for Brother Secretary ' s list as Steward for the Centenary Festival of the Boys School . The Lodge was closed in due form , and the Brethren adjourned to the banquet room , where an excellent repast had been prepared by Bro . Purkiss .
Miss Amy Brook , R . A . M ., and Miss Loe Styles enlivened the intervals between the toasts with some really beautiful singing , and duets on the mandoline . The Tyler's toast was given about ten o ' clock , and the company broke up after having spent a most enjoyable evening .
DALHOUSIE LODGE , No . 860 . BEING the annual election night of this highly renowned Lodge the Brethren assembled in strong force on Thursday , 10 th inst ., at Anderton's Hotel , Fleet Street . Bro . W . D . Landregan , who was initiated at the previous meeting , was presented to the W . M . for some further mark of his favour , and having answered the Worshipful Master's questions in a satisfactory manner he was entrusted and retired . The Lodge was opened in the second degree , and in due course Bro . Landregan was passed as a Fellow Craft .
The W . M . resumed the Lodgo to the first degree , and the ballot was taken for Mr . John Watkins jun . and Mr . Henry Foot , and proved unanimous in their favour . Those gentlemen were duly initiated into the mysteries of ancient Freemasonry , the different ceremonies being rendered in an impressive and faultless manner , the charge of the first degree being given . We congratulate the W . M . on his work .
The Bye-laws were read , and then tho important business arose of the election of Worshipful Master , Treasurer , and Tyler for the ensuing year . The result proved unanimously in favour of Bro . J . Sexton S . W . as W . M ., which honour was highly appreciated by the W . M .-elect . Bro . R . Burleton P . M . Treasurer was re-elected , which compliment was
also acknowledged , he saying he had occupied the honorary position for about twenty-three years , and would be pleased to continue to keep it as long as the Brethren were satisfied with him ; he should continue to render all the assistance in his power . Bro . Edmonds P . M . was re-elected Tyler of the Lodge . Three Brethren were elected on the Audit Committee .
Bro . H . Jenkins P . M . Secretary , in most sympathetic manner , announced to the W . M . and Brethren the sudden death of Bro . F . J . Brown , which report was received with considerable regret . The W . M . proposed that a letter of sincere condolence should be sent to the bereaved family , expressing the regret of the members of the Lodge , which suggestion was unanimously supported .
It was proposed by Bro . Berry I . P . M ., and seconded by Bro . T . S . Newell J . W ., that a Past Master's jewel should be presented to the W . M ., at the installation night , for his excellent working during his year of offiee , and this was unanimously agreed to .
Letters of regret at inability to attend were read from several Brethren , hearty good wishes and well earned compliments were rendered to tbe W . M ., and the Lodge was closed , the company adjourning to the banqueting room , where one of those excellent repasts was provided for which the establishment is so well known .
After grace the W . M . proposed tbe toast of the Queen , alluding to Her Majesty ' s journey to the continent for the benefit of her health , and expressing a hope that she might return in safety . Then followed tho toast of H . R . H . the Prince of Wales Grand Master which was also well received . Bro . C . H . Berry I . P . M . assumed the gavel , saying it would be the last time he would be entitled to propose the health of the Worshipful Master
