r pHE Quarterly Meeting will beheld in Mark Masons ' JL Hall , Great Queen Street , Lincoln ' s Inn Fields , on Tuesday , ist March , at 5 for 6 o'clock in the evening . The following is the Agenda of business to be transacted on the occasion :

1 . Read and , if approved , confirm Minutes of Quarterly Communication of 30 th November 1897 . 2 . Election of the M . W . Grand Master for the ensuing year . 3 . Election of the Grand Treasurer for the ensuing year .

4 . REPORT OF THE GENERAL BOARD . During the three months ending 31 st December 1897 , there have been issued : —Mark Certificates 358 ; total registered , 37 , 691 . Since the last report Five Warrants have been granted for new Lodges , viz :

No . 510—Ragheb , Cairo , Egypt . No . 511—Nubia , Cairo , Egypt . No . 512—Happiness , Zagazig , Egypt . No . 513—Al Hakeeka , Cairo , Egypt . No . 514—Sandhurst , Bombay .

Royal Ark Mariner Certificates , 68 , number registered , 5 , 393 . Warrants for three Royal Ark Mariner Lodges , vizi : '"" " Union , attached to the Union Lodge , No ; 124 , Sunderland . Ashlar , attached to the Ashlar Lodge , No . 424 , Johannesburg , S . A . Republic .

Mispah , attached to the Mispah Lodge , No . 506 , Cape Colony . . . His , Royal Highness the Most Worshipful Grand Master has been graciously pleased to appoint the Rt . Hon ' . the Earl of Halsbury , Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain , to be Provincial Grand Master for Cornwall , in the place ' of R . W . Bro . Sir C . B . Graves-Sawle , Bart ., who has retired through ill health , having ruled the Province most ably since 1881 .

His Royal Highness the Most Worshipful Grand Master has been graciously pleased to re-appoint for a further term of three years , R . W . Bro ' . Abraham Woodiwiss , as Provincial Grand Master for Derbyshire . The Board has carefully considered the petition of the St . Pancras Lodge , No . 494 , to be permitted to meet at the Midland Grand Hotel , and to still retain its position- as one of the Lodges in the Province of Middlesex notwithstanding the place of meeting is within the London Distriot .

The R . W . Provincial Grand Master for Middlesex being strongly m favour of the proposed change , the Board has granted the permission prayed for .

A complaint of a grave nature having been laid before the Board concerning a Brother , he has been summoned to appear in Grand Lodge to show cause why he should not be deprived by the M . W . Grand Master of his rank as a Past Grand Officer , and why he should not be expelled from the degree of Mark Master Mason .

The Board beg to acknowledge with many thanks the gift of a Trophy of Cavalry Lances by W . Bro . W . A . Weston P . G . I . G .

FUND OF BENEVOLENCE . The Thirtieth Annual Festival of the Mark Benevolent Fund will be held in July 1898 , under tho Chairmanship of a distinguished Brother , and the Grand Secretary will be happy to receive the names of Ladies and Brethren willing to act as Stewards . The Beard have elected on the Educational Fund , without a poll ,

Donald Anthony Mead . Mrs . Jane Langdon , widow of Bro . John Langdon , late an Annuitant , has been placed on the Annuity Fund , under Rule 203 , Sub Section XIV . ; and Bro . Edwin Baldwin , of Lodges Walpole , No . 92 , and Royal Sussex , No . 75 , has been elected on the Annuity Fund , without proceeding to a formal poll . . The following cases have been relieved :.
