addressed to tho Lodge by u number of the members and othet Masonic brethi en residing in tho N . W . dist rice of tho Metropolis . reqnesting that a Lodgo of Instrnction tnitjht be established , to work under the banner of Sr . Michael's Lodge , in necordance with the Regulations , Rules loS-lfll . A ( t « r considerable discussion the sanction of the Lodgo wai granloil upon the distinct understanding

that the mode of working should be similar to that adopted in Saint Michael ' s Lodge . We may here mention that the Lodgo of Instrnction will be held at the Norland Arms , Addison Road , Netting Hill , every Monday evening , at seven o ' clock , commencing the 27 th inst ., on which occasion'Brother William Kirkland has consented to take the chair and inaugurate tho proceedings . Brother "William liudcliffe , who has taken great care of the furniture , collars and mimita books

belonging to a former Lodge of Instruction in connection with St . Michael ' s that was dissolved somo years ago , will hand tho samo over to the Officers of the new Lodge , who may consider themselves fortunate as a groat expense will thereby be avoided . There boing no other business , tho Lodgo was closed in dne form , and tho brethren adjourned to sapper , after which a pleasant convivial meeting was spent .

'T VHE jubilee of this Lodgo was celebrated on Tbursdoy , the 9 th JL inst ., when Brother Frank Meredith , was installed iu tho ohair by the Provincial Grand Master ( Brother W . W . B . Beaoh , M . P . ) , who attended at the Masonic Hall , Highbury Street , Portsmouth , for thnt purpose , and was accompanied by a large number of Provincial Ollicers . There was an unnsaally numerous attendance , and the ceremony was most impressive . Brother Meredith appointed tbe

following as his Officers for tho year : —Brothers J . L . Snell I . P . M ., J . Brickvvood P . M . S . W ., E . D . Kent J . W ., J . T . Thaokara P . M Treasurer , W . Bates P . M . M . thanked tho Provincial Grand Master for tho honour ho had done the Lodge

by attending to assist tho members m tho celebration of ita jubilee , and proposed a vote of thanks to him for having kindly undertaken tbe duties of Installing Master . Brother Brickwood seconded , and fcho proposition was carried with acclamation . A handsome Pasfc Master ' s jewel was handed by the W . M . to Brother J . L . Snell , in recognition of his services to the Lodge dnring fche pasfc year . The

VV . M . presided at a banquet held subsequently iu the dining hall , and waa supported by tbo Provincial Grand Master and a large number of the Craft , including representatives of all tho Lodges in the district . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were submitted by the W . M . Brother Edgar Goble P . G . Secretary and Past Grand Deacon of England , in responding for the Officers of Grand Lodge referred

to his connection with Portsmouth , and expressed his admiration of tbo Mnsonic work of their Provincial Grand Master . Referring to tho Masonic Charities , ho mentioned the fact that at tbe roconfc Cambridge Local Examination all the pnpils sent up from the Masouic Girls' School had passed—nine of fchem with honours . The toast of fcho Provincial Grand Master was received with enthusiasm .

. Brother Beach , in response , made an eloqnenfc reference to tbe prin . ciples and aims of Freemasonry . He congratulated the members of the lYrtsmonth Lodge on the success which hud attended ifc . during the 50 years of its existence , and expressed a hope thafc many of the younger members of t' 10 Lodge would live fco celebrate ifcscenfcenary . For tho Provincial Grand Officers , Brother T . H . Williams P . G . J . VV .

replied for the Present , and Brother G . S . Lancaster P . P . G . J . W . for the Past Officers . The Provincial Grand Master submitted tho toast of the Wor . shipl ' ul Master ( Brother Meredith ) , congratulating him on tho honour which had been conferred on him by the Lod ^ e in placing him in tho chair in its Jubilee year . The Provincial Grand Master said ifc gavo him great pleasnre to have been able to be

present and join in thafc evening ' s celebration , nnd he wished the Lodgo continued prosperity . Brother Meredith briefly acknowledged the compliment . Other toasts followed , Brother Wilton ' a string baud played a choice selection of music during the banquet , and the toasts wero interspersed with glee singing by the Alver quartette , led by Brother George Pearman , and solos by the brethren present .

ST . GERMAIN LODGE , No . 566 . A MEETING of this Lodge was held at tbe Lodge Boom , Selby , on Friday , the 21 th nit ., when Brother Wilkinson S . W . was installed as W . M ., the ceremony of installation beiug performsd in a very impressive manner by Brother Staniland P . M . P . P . G . S . B ., after which the W . M . presided at a banquet held subsequently iu the dining hall , and waa supported by tbo Provincial Grand Master and a large number of the Craft , including representatives of all tho Lodges in the district . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were submitted by the W . M . Brother Edgar Goble P . G . Secretary and Past Grand Deacon of England , in responding for the Officers of Grand Lodge referred

to his connection with Portsmouth , and expressed his admiration of tbo Mnsonic work of their Provincial Grand Master . Referring to tho Masonic Charities , ho mentioned the fact that at tbe roconfc Cambridge Local Examination all the pnpils sent up from the Masouic Girls' School had passed—nine of fchem with honours . The toast of fcho Provincial Grand Master was received with enthusiasm .

. Brother Beach , in response , made an eloqnenfc reference to tbe prin . ciples and aims of Freemasonry . He congratulated the members of the lYrtsmonth Lodge on the success which hud attended ifc . during the 50 years of its existence , and expressed a hope thafc many of the younger members of t' 10 Lodge would live fco celebrate ifcscenfcenary . The Provincial Grand Master submitted tho toast of the Wor . shipl ' ul Master ( Brother Meredith ) , congratulating him on tho honour which had been conferred on him by the Lod ^ e in placing him in tho chair in its Jubilee year . The Provincial Grand Master said ifc gavo him great pleasnre to have been able to be

present and join in thafc evening ' s celebration , nnd he wished the Lodgo continued prosperity . Brother Meredith briefly acknowledged the compliment . Other toasts followed , Brother Wilton ' a string baud played a choice selection of music during the banquet , and the toasts wero interspersed with glee singing by the Alver quartette , led by Brother George Pearman , and solos by the brethren present .
