Though absent from fche last Lodgo meeting Bro Ford had taken the liveliest interest in all that had taken place , and he believed tho hearty sympathy which fche brethren had extended to him had done much towards his restoration to health . Bro . Gerard Ford , who was warmly applanded on rising to respond ,

thanked tho brethren for their kind reception of the toast . As Bro . Clerke had said , his severe illness had been mnch relieved by the marked kindness of the brethren , and he was grateful for their cordial sympathy . He received admirable support from fche Provincial Grand Officers , and so long as they continued their efforts

the Province would be prosperous . He also tendered bis thanks fco Bro . Shadwell Clerke for the great interest he had always taken in the Province of Sussex . Bro . Gerard Ford then proposed The Yisitors . Specially amongst them he mentioned the officers of Royal Clarence Lodge—the mother Lodge of the Province . In 1869 he

himself joined that Lodge , and in 1876 he was its VV . M . Many good and worthy Masons of that , Lodgo had passed away , amongst whom he mentioned Bros . Sir W . W . Burrell and J . Henderson Scott . Bro . T . Billing W . M . of the Royal Clarence Lodge responded . The remaing toasts were the Officers , to which Bro . VV . II . Hallet

( Treasurer ) made an excellent response , and the Tylers Toast . During the evening an excellent programme of vocal music was sustained in pleasing style by Miss Minnie Freeman , Miss Amy Freeman , Bro . A . King , and Bro . J . P . Sliugsby Roberts , under the able direction of Bro . A . King P . P . G . Organist .

The annual banquet ancl installation festival of the Pavoril of the Peak Lodge , No . 654 , waa held on Wednesday , afc the Crown Hotel , New Mills , when there was a

large gathering of members of the Craft from New Mills , Hay field , Ohapel-en-le-Frith , Buxton , Glossop , ' and other places .

A meeting oi the Provincial Grand Lodge of Devon and Cornwall will be held on Wednesday , 2 nd January , when the Devon and Cornwall Masonic Hall in Princess-square "will be consecrated .

At a meeting of the Fortitude Lodge , No . 105 , at the new Freemasons' Hall , Plymouth , Brother A . W . Spinney S . W . was elected as W . M . for the year ensuing , Bro . J . T . Browning P . M . Treasurer , and Brother W . H . Phillips Tvler .

The foundation stone of the New West Established Church , Cambuslang , afc present in course of erection , is to be laid on Saturday , 15 th inst . The local Lodges have issued invitations to other Lodges to take part in the proceedings .

We referred last week to the Christmas Greeting cards of Messrs . Hamilton , Hills and Co ., of 22 Paternoster Row . These gentlemen inform us tbey can supply the cards we

referred to with the " levels . This removes the trifling objection we made as to their adaptability for the purpose intended .

SEASONABLE DELICACIES . —Messr ^ . Spiers and Pond are offering a special selection of leading articles from the various departments of their Market at Water Lane , Lndgate , adapted to the requirements of the season . Among them we notice fcho Christmas fruit- ' , co . saques ,
