presented . Bro . John 0 . Hunt , Prov . Grand Secretary , read the minutes of the last annual Provincial Grand Hodge , held at Weston-super-Mare , and of the special Provincial Grand Lodge held at Highbridge , and these were confirmed . Letters were also read from members of tbe family ,

thanking the brethren for the vote of condolence passed on the death of the late R . W . Prov . G . M . the Earl of Carnarvon . The W . D . P . G . M . remarked that the adjournment of the Prov Grand Lodge meeting from time to time had occasioned some inconvenience to the brethren , and espeeially to the

brethren under whose banner they were met that day . The installation of tho Provincial Grand Master designate , Bro . Viscount Dungarvan , would take place nexfc May . He might state that Bra Stothert had rendered the Province great service . He ( the W . D . P . G . M . ) had received a letter from the Provincial Grand Master

designate , asking him to continue in the office of Deputy Provincial Grand Maater . The P . G . Treasurer ( Bro . C . L . P . Edwards ) presented hia accounts , which showed a balance in hand of - £ 110 17 s 8 d , and he mentioned that there was now £ 600 invested in Consols . The account was

It was stated that the contribution of the Lodges in the Province to the Pensions' Fund was - £ 58 15 s , and that out of the - £ 2500 proposed to be raised , - £ 1785 had alread y been contributed . and P . P . G . S . W ., in accordance wifch notice of motion , "moved : " That this P . G . L . desires to commemorate the liberality displayed by the Freemasons of Somerset in their contributions towards the erection of the Centenary

Hall—R . M . Institntion for Girls—and that the memorial take the form of one light of tinted glass , bearing the Provincial Coat of Arms , to be placed in one of the windows of the said hall , for which purpose this P . G . L . is asked to grant the sum of £ 13 . " Bro . the Rev . F . W . Macdonald seconded

the motion . In the course of tho discussion , it was incidentl y mentioned that Somerset did not possess a coat of arms , and it was suggested that the Province should adopt

THIS new Masonio Hall waa dedicated on the 6 th inat . The buildings , of brick with Beer atone facings , consist of a large room 30 ft . by 18 ft ., and 14 ft , high , with open wood roof ; a re « creation-room , library , and offices , and Tyler ' s lodge , whioh consists of kitchen , parlour , bed-rooms , and offices . Tho site , a commanding ono , was purchased from theSidmoufch Local Board for £ 100 , and the

cost of the erection ia about £ 700 . Mr . M . W . Critchley , of Sidmontb , waa the builder , and the hon . architect was Mr . James Jormy , F . R . I . B . A ., Exeter . After the ceremony , Mr . Jermyn was presented , on behalf of the brethren by Bro . J . A . Orchard , with a handsome silver salver in recognition of hia gratuitoua aervioes . The

ceremony waa performed by V . W . Bro . W . G . Rogers , of Exeter , Deputy Provincial Grand Maater , in the unavoidable absence of Lord Ebrington Provincial Grand Master . The Senior Warden ' s chair

was occupied by Bro . Ford , Honiton , and tbe Junior Warden ' s by Bro . J . Stocker , Exeter . The Rev . A . Newman ( Axminster ) acted as P . G . Chaplain . There were about eighty brethren present , and these afterwards attended a banquet , at Bro . Huxtable's London Hotel .
