He had been their first Maater , and to him fchey were indebted for having installed almost all the Masters who bad presided over the Lodge . would not only do well his duty , but who would also look well after the Charities . The Visitora waa then proposed by the Worahipfnl Master , to which Broa . Letchworth and S . Gammen replied , and wished the Worahipfnl Maater a pleasant and a happy year of office . The health of the Officers waa next given by the Worshipful Master , who congratulated himself npon the number of able gentlemen who

The Lodge was fchen closed , and tbe brethren adjourned to the Banqueting Room , where an excellent dinner was served under the supervision of the genial manager , Bro . William Town . The usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly given and received , a touching reference being made by the Master to the late Earl of Carnarvon . Bro . Colonel Shadwell Clerke

responded for the Grand Officers , and stated that it was a good thing for Freemasonry thafc tbe numerous great personages among the Grand Officers found time , in spite of their many public duties , to devote to Masonic interests . M ., who was really the founder and absolute Father of tho Lodge . By his tact and courtesy Bro . Fitzgerald had been the means of cementing the brethren together

into a solid body , and they now boasted sixty membera . They all felt that a good work had been accomplished , and he had now the great pleasure of offering a testimonial to Bro . Fitzgerald , as a mark of esteem , respect , and goodwill , from the members of tbe Lodge . The testimonial took the form of a silver tea and coffee service , together with a silver salver , wifch the following inscription : —

Presented , with a Silver Tea and Coffee Service , by the members of the Derby Allcroft Lodge , No . 2168 , To Bro . JAMES PERC ? FITZGERALD P . M . P . Z ., As a mark of respect and esteem , and a token of sincere fraternal regard on hia retirement from the office of I . P . M ., alao in especial recognition of hia invaluable services in establishing tbe Lodge .

Midland Grand Hotel , London , 13 th November 1890 . The whole weighed 138 ozs ., and waa designed by Messrs . S . J . Phillips and Co ., 113 New Bond Street , W . Bro . Fitzgerald suitably returned thanks for the very handaome preaent , and said the Lodge had been succesaful , becanse every one worked together to make it a

success . Bros . Alderman Reynala , 0 . F . Hogard , George Fairchild , and Dr . Hunter responded for the Visitors , and after the toaata of the Treasurer and Secretary , and Officers had been acknowledged , thia very pleasant gathering conoluded with the Tyler's toast , at a somewhat advanced hour .

"Westbourne Lodge of Instruction , No . 733 . —After a period of 6 years in repose , this Lodge waa very successfully re-opened by Bro . Burton , W . M . of the mother Lodge , on Friday , the 7 th inst ., at the Swiss Cottage Tavern , Finohley Road , N . W . After fche formal business of opening had been gone through , the initiation ceremony

waa rehearaed , Bro . Reelanda candidate . On completion of tbia ceremony , the following brethren were elected Officers : —Bros , ft Wise P . M . Preceptor , E . W . Hughea Treaanrer pro tem , and Bro . C Deleay Secretary pro tem . Upon these brethren signifying their acceptance of office , Bro . Burton said that in electing Brother

Wiae P . M . aa Preceptor , he felfc aura no better choice could have been made ; he believed Bro . Wiae P . M . must have made Free * masonry a life study . The other Officers he felt confident were energetic and capable of faithfully carrying out fche duties assigned them . Bro . Wiae in a neat and suitable manner thanked the membera

for the honour conferred upou him , and expressed hia willingness to offer such teaching as it was in his power fco convey . After tbe business of the evening the Lodge waa closed ; the brethren then met for refreshment . Bro . Bnrton proposed Success fco the Lodge of Inatruction , coupled with the name of Bro . that day could reasonably be conaidered a red letter day in the annala of the Lodge , it being six years thafc day since the Lodge waa last closed at the Lords Hotel . Ifc was constituted in 1858 . The West Ham Abbey Lodge of Freemasons last year gave a ball in aid of fche fnnda of the West Ham Hospital , which proved very successful in all respects ; we understand they contemplate giving another this year , for tbe same laudable object , and great efforts will
