and hearts of every patriotic Englishman and every Freemason . He bad therefore much p leasure in moving the following resolution to H . R . H . the Prince of Wales Most , Worshi p ful Grand Master , from Provincial Grand Lodge : —¦

Secretary , who said it waa one hundred and twenty . Sve years since the warrant was granted , and there was not one similar to it in tho Provitce , it having been issued by the authority of the Duko r f Athole in the year 17 G 8 , and Bro . Anderson ' s installation

was quite aa great an exception to tho rule as the warrant , becanse in no former time in the history of the Province had tbe Most Worshipful Grand Master ' s authority to bo asked for a brother to bo installed Master of a Lodge while acting as Master for another the same year ; bat the universal opinion is it will bo for the good of the Lodge and the Craft , aud wish our brother ' s year may be a

prosperous oue . Bro . Anderson replied , and thanked the brethren for the greit honour they had conferred upon him nnasked in any form . They themselves had done it without solicitation , and nothing wonld bo wanting oa his part to work for the good of the Lolge and the harmony of its members . The Installing Master was proposed by

Brother Dr . Lemon proposed the P . G . M . ( Lord Mount Edgonmbe ) , and the Grand Lodge of Cornwall , and referred to the fact that the Eirl of Mount Edgcumbe is the senior P . M . of Lodge Sincerity . The AV . M .

FAITH LODGE , No . 581 . rjMIIE regular meeting of this Lodge , held at the Granamoor Hotel , -L Higher Openshaw , ou Wednesday , 21 st ult ., was the last of a very successful session , closing as it did with a quintette of ceremonies , viz ., an initiation aud four raisings . Lodge proceedings commenced at the curly hoar of 3 p . m ., Bro . Barnes W . M . offering up : solemn prayer . There was a very sparco attendance of members to

take patt in the ballot for a joiuiug member ( Bro . Wm . Why te McLeod ) , and also to witness the initiation of Mr . Samuel Andrew by the W . M . Despite this depressing circumstance , however , Bro . Barnes manfully performed his work , being assisted in the ceremony by Bro . Brown S . W ., who presented the working tools . This concluded , it waa announced that Bros . Joseph Harrison , Charles H .

Griffiths , Harry Grellin , and J . G . Hewaotr were desirous of being raised to the sublime degree of Master Masons , and the AV . M . put the usual ititsrrogalives , which were satisfactorily answered by the ondi lates , who thon retired for prepiration . Bro . Barnes retaining his position iu the chiii' , now performed tho ceremony of raising so far as concerned Bro Harrison , being succeeded by Bro . P . Swift

< P . M ., who raised Bro . Griffiths , nnd by Bro . Samuel Wbittaker I . P . M ., who performed a similar duty towards Bro . Crollin . An adjournment now took place , and tea , which had been provided in an adjoining room , . » as partaken of by something like forty brethren , the major poitiou < jf whom had just opportunely arrived upon the scene . This oi-er , Lodge business was again resumed , Bro . Joseph T . Richardson P . M . P . P . G . S . D . assuming the principal chair . All the brethren

seemed anxious to participati iu tho work after it had been thas intermitted , the consequence being that Bro . Richardson had a very large audience to witness his raising of Bro . Hewson into the sublime degree . He afterwards delivered the historical charge , and presented the working tools of this degree to the four candidates . Of the ceremonies we can say that tbey seemed to go with a crescendo regularity ; the initiation and raising performed by the AV . M . were fire , the raising of Bro . Swilt waa excellent , tho following one by

FAITH LODGE , No . 581 . rjMIIE regular meeting of this Lodge , held at the Granamoor Hotel , -L Higher Openshaw , ou Wednesday , 21 st ult ., was the last of a very successful session , closing as it did with a quintette of ceremonies , viz ., an initiation aud four raisings . Lodge proceedings commenced at the curly hoar of 3 p . m ., Bro . Barnes W . M . offering up : solemn prayer . There was a very sparco attendance of members to

take patt in the ballot for a joiuiug member ( Bro . Wm . Why te McLeod ) , and also to witness the initiation of Mr . Samuel Andrew by the W . M . Despite this depressing circumstance , however , Bro . Barnes manfully performed his work , being assisted in the ceremony by Bro . Brown S . W ., who presented the working tools . This concluded , it waa announced that Bros . Joseph Harrison , Charles H .

Griffiths , Harry Grellin , and J . G . Hewaotr were desirous of being raised to the sublime degree of Master Masons , and the AV . M . put the usual ititsrrogalives , which were satisfactorily answered by the ondi lates , who thon retired for prepiration . Bro . Barnes retaining his position iu the chiii' , now performed tho ceremony of raising so far as concerned Bro Harrison , being succeeded by Bro . P . Swift

< P . M ., who raised Bro . Griffiths , nnd by Bro . Samuel Wbittaker I . P . M ., who performed a similar duty towards Bro . Crollin . An adjournment now took place , and tea , which had been provided in an adjoining room , . » as partaken of by something like forty brethren , the major poitiou < jf whom had just opportunely arrived upon the scene . This oi-er , Lodge business was again resumed , Bro . Joseph T . Richardson P . M . P . P . G . S . D . assuming the principal chair . All the brethren

seemed anxious to participati iu tho work after it had been thas intermitted , the consequence being that Bro . Richardson had a very large audience to witness his raising of Bro . Hewson into the sublime degree . He afterwards delivered the historical charge , and presented the working tools of this degree to the four candidates . Of the ceremonies we can say that tbey seemed to go with a crescendo regularity ; the initiation and raising performed by the AV . M . were fire , the raising of Bro . Swilt waa excellent , tho following one by
