The minor business having been disposed of , hearty good wishes were expressed by Bros . Wobb , Bromley , and Harmon , who reproseutad Lodges 1134 , 1375 , and 1588 respectively . At the festive board whioh followed , the usual Loyal and Maionio toasts were submitted and accepted enthusiastically .

former degrees was raised to tho rank of Master Mason by the W . M ., who condncted the ceremony in a careful and impressive manner . Bro . I . P . M . reported to the brethren the lamented vacancy that had occurred in the muster roll of the Ledge by the death of Bro .

William Wray Morgan , and bore testimony to hii integrity and Masonic usefulness . He proposed that a vote of condolence and sympathy shonld be sent to Bro . Morgan's family . This was seconded by Bro . Nash , and supported by Bros . Alfred Green , VV . Radcliffe , and the W . M .. all of whom spike in feeling terms of regret at the sad

The business of the meeting was shortly after ? i ; r . wards brought to a close in peace and harmony . The usual entertainment followed , when Loyal and Masonio toast ' s were drunk , the same being varied by songs and recitations from

Bros ; Pitzsimmons , R . Arraitage P . M ., Woolor , Howard , and E . Roberts P . M . . r Bro . Selby proposed the toast of the newly raised brother ( Brother Herbert Wooler ) , who , he explained , was tho principal electrician to the Manches ' or Corporation . He eulogised the candidate , ttating that Bro . Wooler had an illustrious career before him , whioh he

sincerely hoped might be as bright as the light whioh illumined his business . As a man of saperior attainments he appealed to him to study the groundwork of the three degrees through which he had recently passed , assuring him that any one who would do this care , fully mnst find it advantageous . From what had already been seen of the candidate , he was convinced that the respect entertained for him in private life would be accentuated in his Masonio

experiences . Bro . Wooler , in reply , said that he thanked the brethren for the manner in whioh they had accepted the toast of bis health . The Masonic ceremonies had made so deep an impression upon him that they wonld ever remain upon his mind . Reverting to the remarks of Bro . Selby , he said that he could not imagine how he of all others

should be so fortunate . Many men possessed wonderful capabilities , bbt be supposed that they could not all find the field in which to display them . Ho gave a description of his impressions whilst passing ~ through the ceremonies , and concluded by thanking Bro . Selby for the kind expressions of friendliness whioh he had used towards him . •; Bro . Higham proposed tho toast of the visiting brethren , saying

tbat he appeared to be iho unfortunate individual who invariably had to perform this now somewhat hackneyed duty . He spoke of the social elements of the institution , and of tbe friendships which - it engendered by Masonio interchanges ; that by visiting various Lodges a brother could make important observations with respect to other workings , the result being tbat a knowledge so derived was cf ultimate value . Other toasts followed .

LONDONDERRY LODGE , No . 2039 .

rpHE installation took place at the Masonio Hall , Park Terrace , Sun-JL' derland . on the 2 nd inst ., Bro . Hutchinson , Mns . Bao ., Oxon ., presiding . Bro . James Lee was installed W . M . for the ensuing year by Bro . P . S . Cowper P . M ., and he afterwards appointed his Officers . The annual banquet was held at the Masonio Hull . The toast of the W . M ., proposed by Bro ; John C . Moor , was

enthusiastically received , as was also ihat of the Installing Must .-r . The toast of the retiring W . M . was proposed by Bro . W . A . Priestly , and-in the name of the subscribers , members of tbe Lodgp , Bro . F .

S . Cowper presented to Bro . Hutchinson a handsome gold Putt Master ' s jewel , suitably inscribed , in recognition of tho excellent : services rendered to the Lodge during the past year by Bro . Hutchinson , whose term of ofiice has been exceptionally successful .

Ho gave a description of his impressions whilst passing ~ through the ceremonies , and concluded by thanking Bro . Selby for the kind expressions of friendliness whioh he had used towards him . •; Bro . Higham proposed tho toast of the visiting brethren , saying

tbat he appeared to be iho unfortunate individual who invariably had to perform this now somewhat hackneyed duty . He spoke of the social elements of the institution , and of tbe friendships which - it engendered by Masonio interchanges ; that by visiting various Lodges a brother could make important observations with respect to other workings , the result being tbat a knowledge so derived was cf ultimate value . Other toasts followed .

rpHE installation took place at the Masonio Hall , Park Terrace , Sun-JL' derland . on the 2 nd inst ., Bro . Hutchinson , Mns . Bao ., Oxon ., presiding . Bro . James Lee was installed W . M . for the ensuing year by Bro . P . S . Cowper P . M ., and he afterwards appointed his Officers . The annual banquet was held at the Masonio Hull . The toast of the W . M ., proposed by Bro ; John C . Moor , was

enthusiastically received , as was also ihat of the Installing Must .-r . The toast of the retiring W . M . was proposed by Bro . W . A . Priestly , and-in the name of the subscribers , members of tbe Lodgp , Bro . F .

S . Cowper presented to Bro . Hutchinson a handsome gold Putt Master ' s jewel , suitably inscribed , in recognition of tho excellent : services rendered to the Lodge during the past year by Bro . Hutchinson , whose term of ofiice has been exceptionally successful .
