CRANE LODGE . ON . Wednesday , 7 th ult ., Earl * Amherst Provincial Graind Master of Kent consecrated a new Kentish Lodge at Cranbrook * it being . designated the Crane , "No . 2660 . Those present numbered about 90 . Bro . Baldomerode Beriodano Lopez acted . as S . W .- and E . M . MerCer as J . Wi The musical part of the service , was conduced , . by Bro . A . H . Smith P . M . Organist'' 1854 :. ¦ . ¦•

'At the conclusion of the ceremonies of consecration Bro . F . S . W . ; Corn wallis P . M . P . P . S . G . W . Kent was installed / as the first W . M ., and he-proceeded to invest his Officers . The brethren subsequently adjourned to a banquet at the

George Hotel . The banqueting hall at the George Hotel and the Vestry ffall were very prettily and effectively decorated for the occasion , and the' labours of the founders were amply repaid by the entire success of the day ' s proceedings .

Coalfields Lodge.

COALFIELDS LODGE .

SATURDAY , 19 th ult ., was a red-letter day at Springs , on the occasion of the consecration of the Coalfields Lodge . By the first . train from Johannesburg there arrived Bro . H . F . E . Pistorius Deputy District Grand Master , and about 40 other

distinguished Brethren , while representatives were also present from the Irish , Dutch , and various Australian Constitutions , and the Nigel Lodge , although not yet constituted , had several representatives , including the W . M .-designate Bro . A . Grant .

, * On arrival at the station the visitors were conveyed in carriages to the residence of Bro . Harris the W . M .-Designate of the Coalfields Lodge , where a cold collation was provided . They were afterwards driven to the temporary Lodge ( the Great Eastern Hall ) , which had previously been properly arranged and

beautifully decorated by the District Grand Tyler Bro . Klagsbrun . _ : The ceremony of consecrating the new Lodge was most impressively performed by Bro . Pistorius , assisted by the other District Grand Officers present . After the installation of the W . M . a banquet was provided , and a most enjoyable evening was spent .

SUPREME GRAND CHAPTER , E SPECIAL interest attached to the Quarterly Convocation of Grand Chapter on the 4 th inst ., for the reason that the Grand Z . intended to confer Past Grand rank on sixty distinguished Companions , to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majestv ' s reign .

The meeting was held under the presidency of Comp . W . W . B . Beach , M . P ., Provincial Grand Superintendent Hampshire and Isle of Wight . The following Jubilee honours were conferred , those of the Companions who were present being invested :
