Hervey Lodge , No . 1260 . —The installation meeting of this Lodge was held on Wednesday , the 11 th instant , at Freemasons' Hall . Great Queen-street . The Lodge room was adorned by tho portrait of the worthy Graud Sec . Bro . John Hervey , which was presented to tho Lodge by Bro . J . H . Southwood S . W . and W . M . elect , painted by Bro . Baron Tittenborn . Tho W . M . Bro . G . Harrison occupied the

chair , supported by Bro . J . II . Southwood S . W ., J . S . Ward J . W ., G . King Sec , Jabez Hogg P . M . P . G . D . Treas ., E . J . Goodman J . D ., Shalding I . G ., and Bros . Foot , Barley , Robbins , Hoopor , Butter , Mansell , Bigwood , Condy , Elis , H . B . Coudy , & o . Tho Locige was opened , and the ° minutes of " tho regular meeting , with those of au emergency meetin " , were confirmed . Tho report of the Audit Committee was

read , showing tho Lodgo was in a flourishing condition . Mr . 0 . Reason being in attendance , was initiated into tho Order by tho W . M . A board of installed Masters was then formed , ancl Bro . J . H . Southwood was presented by Bro . Jabez Hogg P . M He was duly installed into the chair by Bro . G . King P . M . perfectly and impressively . On the conclusion of tho ceremony he was warmly congratulated by tho

brethren and visitors . Bro . Seymour Smith played etlectivoly on the organ . Tho newly-installed W . M . having been saluted iu due form invested his officers : —Bros . J . S . Ward S . W ., Goodacro J . W ., Jabez Hogg P . G . D . Treasurer , G . King P . M . Sec , in tho absence of Bro . G . King jun ., Spalding S . D ., Birley J . D ., Rnbons I . G ., J . R . Cook and Foot Steward , Speight P . M . Tyler . The W . M . then said

ifc was a pleasing duty he had to perform , and that was to present to the retiring W . M . Bro . G . Harrison a very elegaufc Past Master ' s jewel . In placing it on his breast he said ifc was ono voted unanimously by the Lodge , and he hoped he might live long to wear it . A vote of thanks was unanimously accorded to Bro . G . King for tho manner he had performed tho ceremony of installation , for

which he suitably rep lied . The W . M . then read a letter from Bro . G . King jun . on the eve of his going to Natal , thanking the Lodge for the very handsome testimonial presentee ! to him previously to his leaving England , and hoping that his health might bo restored to enable him to be among them again . Ho wished the W . M . a successful year of office . It was proposed

and seconded that tho letter of thanks should be entered on the minutes . Several letters of apology wero read from brethren , regretting their absence . Bro . Czarnecki gave notice of motion , thafc fro m the 1 st of October tho subscriptions be increased to five guineas , and tbe initiation and joining fees to ten guineas . Bro . Jabez Hogg p . G . D ., proposed that the sum of ten guineas be placed on tho list of

the VV . M ., who is a steward for tho Boys' Festival in June . The brethren liberally subscribed the sum of £ 40 in addition . The Lodge v / as then closed , and the brethren , 66 in number , adjourned to the Inns of Court Hotel , where a very excellent banquet and dessert was served . The W . M . provided some very artistic menu ' s , with list of toasts and songs . Grace having been sung , tho W . M . proposed tho

toast of the Queen and the Craft . Tho National Anthem was sung , Miss Lincoln singing the solo . The toast of H . R . H . the M . W . G . M . the Prince of Wales , was given , ancl Bro . Frank Elmore , Miss Lincoln , and Seymour Smith sang " God Bless tho Princo of Wales , " which was enthusiastically received . The W . M ., in very eulogistic terms , proposed the toast of the Pro G . M ., the D . G . M ., and tho rest of the

Grand Officers , Past and Present . All who attend Grand Locige seo how the Pro G . M . and Lord Skelmersdale do their duties ; but tonight we havo one distinguished brother with u-, ancl whom we are always p leased to see , not only as a Grand Officer , but one who , as a member of this Lodge , we are proud of , but wo have also another Grand Officer , viz ., 'Bro . T . Cubitt , Past G . Pursuivant . Ho is not only

known to us in Grand Lodgo , but also in many Lodges , aud in connection with the charities , as Bro . Hogg will reply in another capacity . I shall call on my worthy friend , Bro . T . Cubitt , to respond to tho toast . Bro . T . Davey played a cornet solo . Bro . T . Cubitt was p leased to respond . Tho example tho Grancl Officers set had done good to Freemasonry . Tho W . M . then proposed the toast of tho

initiates , ono of whom was initiated to-night , and tho other on tho emergency meeting . He was sure they would never regret being initiated into our ancient and honourable Order . The E . A . song was then sung by Bro . Seymour Smith . Bro . 0 . L . M . Latreille returned thanks . It would always be a source of pleasure to be among them . He would be proud to attend to the duties , aud hoped to becomo one

whom they would never regret having accepted . Bro . Raison also responded . Bro . J . Hogg P . G . D . P . M ., was proud to be called ou to propose a very gratifying toast—one that he felt a very great pleasure in proposing—it was that of the W . M . He is one who had in overy respect done hia duty . Every one who has met him knows what he has done for the Lodge . He hoped he might bo spared for many

years to be among them . Bro . Seymour Smith then sung a new humourous song . Tbe W . M . returned thanks for the eloquent manner in which Bro . Jabez Hogg had proposed his health . By an accidental visit to the Hervey Locige five years since , he joined , and was put into office ; now he had attained to the proud position of W . M . Ho hoped when he left the chair ho should do so with tho satisfaction of

every brother . He regretted the worthy founder of tho Hervey Lodge , Bro . John Hervey , was not present . Thoy would commence a new era in the Lodgo , and follow out the good name of the one whom the Lodge was named alter . ( Cheers . ; Tho VV . M . thon proposed the toast of the visitors . Ho mentioned their names seriatim . Ho would call on Bro . 11 . G . Buss P . J . G . W . for Middlesex to

respond to tho toast , and he , in a very excellent speech , returned thanks for the numerous visitors . He hoped ho would embody their sentiments iu saying that it was with feelings of deep regret he had not visited the Locige since its consecration . Ho hoped tho W . M ., on tho conclusion of his year of office , would follow out tho principles ancl tenets laid down . Miss Lincoln sang "It was a Dream , " which
