M . occupied the chair . Bros . E . Gotthiel W . M . 173 , a visitor , was S . W ., Mander J . W ., Figg P . M . Treas ., Cottebrune P . G . S . B . and P . M . Sec , and acting M . O .. Swallow S . O ., Farwig J . O ., Hart Org ., Leggett S . D ., Burrell

J . D ., Eeed I . G ., and Woodstock Tyler . The Lodge having been opened , and minutes read and confirmed , Bros . George Allen , George Evans , and Forscut -were regularly advanced to this degree , the ceremony being very ably rendered by Bro . Lacy . After an ample ancl highly satisfactory repast , the usnal toasts were proposed and responded to . In returning thanks for the Grancl Officers , Bro .

W . Mann remarked that upon his first entrance into this degree he had a groat hope and desire to see it acknowledged in Graft Grand Locige . Indeed , he never could form a conception as to why it shonld not be so acknowledged , seeing that the most eminent Past and Present Grand Officers in Craft Masonry havo not hesitated to occupy similar positions iu the Mark Grand Lodge . But matters havo

considerably altered since that time , it being now sixteen years ago , aud tho Mark Graud Lodge , being fully competent to hold its own , would strenuously oppose any attempt which might bo made to bring about a union of the two badios . Responding to the toast o ' the W . M ., which Bro . Cottebrune had proposed in highly flattering

terms , Bro . Lacy expressed his thanks , aud stated that ho had clone no more than his duty , and that it should always be his endeavour to serve the Lodgo with such ability as ho possessed . Bro . Gotthiel replied for the visitors . He was grateful to the W . M . for his courteous invitation , and to the brethren for the

George Allen , George Evans , and Forscut -were regularly advanced to this degree , the ceremony being very ably rendered by Bro . Lacy . After an ample ancl highly satisfactory repast , the usnal toasts were proposed and responded to . In returning thanks for the Grancl Officers , Bro .

W . Mann remarked that upon his first entrance into this degree he had a groat hope and desire to see it acknowledged in Graft Grand Locige . Indeed , he never could form a conception as to why it shonld not be so acknowledged , seeing that the most eminent Past and Present Grand Officers in Craft Masonry havo not hesitated to occupy similar positions iu the Mark Grand Lodge . But matters havo

considerably altered since that time , it being now sixteen years ago , aud tho Mark Graud Lodge , being fully competent to hold its own , would strenuously oppose any attempt which might bo made to bring about a union of the two badios . Responding to the toast o ' the W . M ., which Bro . Cottebrune had proposed in highly flattering

terms , Bro . Lacy expressed his thanks , aud stated that ho had clone no more than his duty , and that it should always be his endeavour to serve the Lodgo with such ability as ho possessed . Bro .
