— : o : — BROTHER JAMES FORBES . IT is onr painful duty to record the death of our much esteemed Brother James Forbes P . M . of the Great Northern Lodge , which took place on the 6 th instant , at 116 High-street , Notting-hill , W . The funeral took place

at Kensal Green Cemetery on Thursday , when several members of the Great Northern and other Lodges attended to pay their last respects to a worthy Mason . Bro . Forbes

at tho time of his decease was in his fifty-sixth year . Wo tender to his family our best sympathies with them in this the hour of their affliction .

FUNERAL OF THE LATE BRO . FRANK SILLIS .

THE funoral loFt tho deceased ' s residence , George-street , Euston . road , on Wednesday , 4 th February , at eleven o ' clock a . m ., the body being borne on an open hearse , and the coffin covered with wreaths of flowers . Thore were three mourning coaches for relatives and intimate friends , the W . M . of the Savoy Lodge being iu one .

Thero wero also ten private carriages containing members of Royal Savoy and other Lodges . The body was first taken to St . Pancraa Church , Enston-road , where Dr . Oliver , the senior curate , read the first part of the funeral service , about 500 persons being present . The coffin was again placed on tho hearse , and tho cortege proceeded

to Nuuhead Cemetei-y , by way of Great Qneen-streot , Lincoln s-inn . fields , halting at Freemasons' Hall for a short time ; thence over Waterloo Bridge . On arriving at the Cemetery thero were a great number of brethren and friends who had gone by rail . At tho grave Dr . Oliver concluded the Burial Service , whioh thronghout he

rendered in a very impressive aud effective manner . Bro . Sillis had been a regular attendant at St . Pancras Church for a number of years . After tho coffin had been lowered into the grave , the brethren threw in their sprigs of acacia . Our deceased brother was thirty-three years of age , and unmarried . Ho had been Secretary of the Fidelity

Lodge of Instruction for somo years , and at the time of his decease was Secretary of tho Royal Savoy Lodge of Iustrnction . Wo append the names of the brethren who were present—Bros . J . W . predecessor , "Epsom Downs , " be full of telling hits , and contain 48 portraits of celebrities of the day . Mr . Bryan } I , I < J boon wellstyled by Mr . Edmund Yates , in the W'rrbl , the Princo of Caricaturists . Tho price of the paper wiil not be raised , but intending purchasers should remember that "Epsom Downs" was sold out

six hours after publication . Only a limited number of " On tho Lino " will bo issued .

— : o : — BROTHER JAMES FORBES . IT is onr painful duty to record the death of our much esteemed Brother James Forbes P . M . of the Great Northern Lodge , which took place on the 6 th instant , at 116 High-street , Notting-hill , W . The funeral took place

at Kensal Green Cemetery on Thursday , when several members of the Great Northern and other Lodges attended to pay their last respects to a worthy Mason . Bro . Forbes

at tho time of his decease was in his fifty-sixth year . Wo tender to his family our best sympathies with them in this the hour of their affliction .

FUNERAL OF THE LATE BRO . FRANK SILLIS .

THE funoral loFt tho deceased ' s residence , George-street , Euston . road , on Wednesday , 4 th February , at eleven o ' clock a . m ., the body being borne on an open hearse , and the coffin covered with wreaths of flowers . Thore were three mourning coaches for relatives and intimate friends , the W . M . of the Savoy Lodge being iu one .

Thero wero also ten private carriages containing members of Royal Savoy and other Lodges . The body was first taken to St . Pancraa Church , Enston-road , where Dr . Oliver , the senior curate , read the first part of the funeral service , about 500 persons being present . The coffin was again placed on tho hearse , and tho cortege proceeded

to Nuuhead Cemetei-y , by way of Great Qneen-streot , Lincoln s-inn . fields , halting at Freemasons' Hall for a short time ; thence over Waterloo Bridge . On arriving at the Cemetery thero were a great number of brethren and friends who had gone by rail . At tho grave Dr . Oliver concluded the Burial Service , whioh thronghout he

rendered in a very impressive aud effective manner . Bro . Sillis had been a regular attendant at St . Pancras Church for a number of years . After tho coffin had been lowered into the grave , the brethren threw in their sprigs of acacia . Our deceased brother was thirty-three years of age , and unmarried . Ho had been Secretary of the Fidelity
