The installation banquet was provided at the Grand Hotel , the proceedings in connection with which were of a special character . In proposing the toast of the Provincial Officers the W . M . expressed his high appreciation of the honour which the Provincial G . M . had done the Lodge by being present at their proceedings that day . The Prov . G . M ., in responding , referred to the great increase in

Freemasonry which was manifest throughout England , and , he might say , also throughout the world . It behoved them all the more , therefore , to act up to the high principles of their Masonic life , to maintain the high position which it had held in the past , and to see that it held it in the future .

There was a good attendance both of members and visitors , the Lodge in the latter instance having been a great plagiarist , for it drew a goodly number of distinguished Brethren from almost every direction , who were anxious , no doubt , to hear the fine musical ceremonial which is an especial adjunct to the yearly function in connection with this Lodge .

The principal business of the day was that of installing Bro . Edwyn A . Smith S . W . into the chair of K . S ., the Installing Master being the retiring W . M ., who had the assistance of the following Officers : Bro . M . Thomas P . P . G . D ., who gave the address to the W . M . ; Bro . Cyril H . Beever , who addressed the Wardens ; Bro . B . Muir , and B . Parnell Stewards .

As will be seen , Bro . Thomas retires from the position of Secretary , a post which we believe he has held since the formation of the Lodgo ; but as Charity Representative he still remains in active touch with the other Officers . His relinquishment of Secretarial duties has been occasioned by failing health , which we , in conjunction with his Minnehaha friends , deeply regret .
