After the report of the Charity Organisation Committee had been read , the alms were collected , nnd these , amounting to £ 6 7 s 8 d , wero voted to the Bridgwater Infirmary , on the proposition of Bro . Else . The National Anthem was sung and the Lodge closed , after which the nsual banquet took place .

Provincial Grand Lodge Of Middlesex.

PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE OF MIDDLESEX .

AT fche Paris Rooms , Teddington , last Saturday , Lord George Hamilton , M . P ., was installed Provincial Grand Master of Middlesex , in tbe presence of over 400 members of the Order . The ceremony was performed by the Earl of Lathom Pro Grand Master , assisted by Bros . F . A . Philbrick , Q . C , Graud Registrar ,

Col . Noel Money Provincial Grand Mastor Surrey , E . Letchworth Grand Secretary , Thos . Fenn President Board of General Purposes , Frank Richardson P . G . Deacon acting Director of Ceremonies ;' , and many other distinguished Masons .

The proceedings having been opened , Lord George Hamilton , M . P ., was introduced , tbe Earl of Lathom , having previously paid a high tribute to the personal and Masonic merits of late the Provincial Grand Master , Col . Sir Francis Burdett , and to the great personal and Masonic

worth of the new ruler of the Province . Lord George Hamilton , M . P ., was then duly installed as Provincial Grand Master , and appointed his deputy , Bro . Raymond H . Thrupp , and the other Provincial Grand Officers for the ensuing year .

A sum of fifteen guineas was voted to each of the Masonic Charitable Institutions , and ten guineas was voted to the vicar of the parish , in consideration of his kindness in allowing the use of the parish rooms , to be devoted to Loyal Charitable Institutions .

The Provincial Grand Lodge was closed , and a banquet was afterwards held at thc Town Hall , at which nearly 300 took part . Lord George Hamilton , who presided , proposed the usual loyal toasts , and also the toast of the Grand-Officers .

Col . Noel Money P . G . M . Surrey referred to the love and respect all Masons felt for the late Provincial Grand Master , Sir Francis Burdett , who would always live in their memories . Their new Provincial Grand Master was a man who had made his mark not only in Freemasonry , but in the political life of England .

Bro . Raymond H . Thrupp Deputy Provincial Grand Master proposed the health of thc Provincial Grand Master , Lord G . Hamilton , M . P ., who said , in reply , that twelve months ago he little thought he should occupy that

position , and he shonld nofc have accepted the post had he not known that he should be supported by many Masons of experience in tbe various offices . Bro . F . A . Philbrick , Q . C , Grand Registrar responded

for tho Visitors , and Lieut . Col . Rushton for the Provincial Grand Officers . During the evening the Schartau Part Singers discoursed sweet music to enliven the proceedings .

SAMSON LODGE , No . 1668 . THE installation meeting of this Lodge waa held on Tuesday , the 9 th inst ., at the Cafe Royal , Regent Street , under the pro . sideney of Bro . A . F . Casperd , the Master for the past year . Tbe business of the day included the passing of Bro . S . Gottlieb and the initiation of Mr . T . D . Corthine , after which Brother E . Hahn waa installed as Worshipful Master for the ensuing year , subsequently appointing tbe following as his assistant Officers : —Bros . J . Nash

S . W ., A . Clark J . W ., M . D . Loewenstark P . M . Treasurer , B . D . Baniett P . M . Secretary , N . Nercessian S . D ., J . J . Nelson J . D ., G . Levin I . G ., J . D . Hood Dir . of Cers ., I . Silvestone and J . L . Rosenthal Stewards . The Auditors' report for the year was submitted , and a handsome P . M ' s jewel presented to tbe outgoing Master , with the best wishes of the members of the Lodge and thanks fur the services

Bro . Caspard had rendered during the past year , after which tho Lodge was closed and the brethren adjourned to tbe installation banquet , the newly-installed Master presiding . At the conclusion of the banqnet the W . M . proposed the toast of the Queen and the Craft , which was heartily received , and followed by the National Anthem . The next toast was that of the Most AVorshipful tbe

Grand Master , in submitting whioh the Master iocluded tho other members of Grand Lodge . As Masons , they heartily congratulated the Grand Master on the approaching marriage of his son with the Princess May , and could bat express a wish that they might succeed in all their undertakings . Bro . Casperd I . P . M . gave the next toast . He was very pleased to be able to resume tbe gavel on this

occasion , especially as it was to propose the health of the Worshipful Master . Their W . M ., Senior Warden and himself had been initiated in tho Lodge on the same evening years ago . Through the years that have since elapsed they had worked without a word of disagreement ; they bad kept together shoulder to shoulder and to-night he had the great pleasnre of proposing the health of one

of his brother initiates as Worshipful Master of the Lodge . He was convinced Bro . Hahn would do his very best for the Lodge . He was au fait with the ceremonies , and he was quite certain their new ruler would conduct the work in every way up to tbe standard tbey desired . Tney wished him a * most successful year of office , and might confidently look forward to prosperity under his rule . The

members of the Lodge conld congratulate themselves on being in a better financial position than had been the case for some years at least . Looking back he might be allowed to say that the year jast completed had been one of the most harmonious ever known in the Lodge ; there had not been a single hitch in the working , all having done their beat to secure the happy result whioh had attended

the conduct of the Lodge during the year . In reply , the Worshipful Master tendered his thanks , and assured the brethren he should do his bust during his term of office to win the satisfaction of the members , and induce them all to feel that they did not regret having instilled him as Master . The toast of the Initiate was next given from the chair . The Master had hoped to have welcomed three new

members into the Lodge that night , but two were unable to come forward . The one who had come amongst them was a worthy brother , and would doubtless become a credit to the Lodge . In acknowledgment of the toast the Initiate tendered his hearty thanks . Words failed bim to express the pleaare he felt in being admitted as a member of tbe Lodge . Ho bad long desired to become a Mason ,

but never imagined he shonld be so heartily received as he had beeu that night . He hoped he should always be a credit to the Lodge and the Order of which he had just become a member . The next toast was that of the Visitors . The members of the Samson Lodge , said the Master , were always pleased to have guests among them , and hoped they were able to make them so enjoy themselves as to feel a

desire to come again . He would ask the Secretary to read the names of the Visitors , which Bro . Barnett did , the list including Bros . T . R . Cass S . D . 1320 , AV . H . Brownsword AV . Morgan jun . The Master gave them all a hearty welcome , and expressed tho pleasure of the members at having them present . The toast of the Visitors was duly acknowledged . Other toasts of the evening included the Past Masters of the Lodge , the Treasurer and Secretary , tbe Officers of the Lodge , and finally , the Tyler ' s toast bronght a

most successful meeting to a conclusion . As is usual at the installation meetings of this Lodge a splendid musical programme was arranged , Bro . VV . H . Brownsword being entrusted with the music , and being admirably supported by Bro . Sam Wright , Bro . G . T . Miles , Mr . Alfied Wareham , and others . Bro . AVright ' a humourous songs and Bro . Miles's harp solos were particularly goad .

QUATUOR CORONATI LODGE , No . 2076 . THE regnlar meeting of this Lodge was held at the Freemasons ' Hall , Great Queen Street , on Friday , the 5 fch inst . Present—Bro ? . Professor T .
