The Lodge was opened in due form at 6 * 15 , when the minutes of the last regular meeting were read and confirmed , and a ballot was taken for Mr . Samuel Wollam , Moss Side , Manchester . This proved successful , when the Brethren adjourned for tea .

Ou re-assembling , Mr . Samuel Wollam was initiated by tho W . M ., who was ably assisted by his Officers , the S . W . giving the Working Tools and the Charge in a very efficient manner , in the unavoidable absence of the J . W . ( Bro . Preston ) through illness . After hearty good wishes had been expressed the Lodge was closed .

At the social board which followed , after the Loyal toasts had been honoured , the health of the Initiate was proposed by the W . M ., and responded to by him in a few well chosen remarks . Bro . Jones , proposing the health of the W . M ., in his remarks said , if we havo not got a Master in the chair of K . S . who fills it in bulk , we certainly have one who can do his work well , and has the working of his Lodge and Masonry at heart .

The W . M . feelingly replied , and other toasts followed , relieved by songs and recitations given by Bros . Eussell , Yeadon , Blears , Krause , Long and Preston . Bro . Long presided at the pianoforte .

The social board which followed dinner was of a very agreeable kind , and during the toasts an opportunity was taken to accord a hearty vote of thanks to those who were responsible for the successful carrying out of the duties of installation . The Theatres, &C.

THE THEATRES , & c .

Alhambra . —Among the more recently added attractions at this popular place of amusement is " The Beautiful Geraldine , " who made a re-appearance here on Thursday of last week , after an absence from London of four or five years . Her skill as a trapeze performer is marvellous , and in her daring and ability she is probably without a rival . Her principal feat , the aerial flight , is especially clever , and seen to great advantage in the spacious and most convenient Alhambra . Mile . Vohare contributes some acrobatic

performances which form another attractive feature in the programme , which is also strengthened by a burlesque lion taming sketch by the Brothers Griffiths , which is likely to achieve almost as great a popularity as their " Blondin Donkey" did a few years back . The other items of the programme are almost equally deserving of special mention , notably the beautiful spectacle " Ali Baba , " but space compels us to stop , with the injunction to our readers , however , to go and judge for themselves whether the fare provided by the management is not entertaining as well as excellent .

Empire . —A novelty was provided here last week in the form of a clever sketch— "A traveller's troubles in Monkeyland , " given by the Brothers Lomas , who claim to be tho finest imitators of monkeys in the world , and are certainly very clever and amusing in their performances . Several new songs have been introduced , while the general high character of the programme is well sustained .

Palace . —A neat and attractive novelty was introduced here last week , when Mr . Henry Lee commenced an engagement to give a series of elaborate portraits of " Great men—past and present . " His performance is a remarkable one , as illustrating the rapidity with which changes may be made , but apart from this—and far more important—is the morked ability of the delineator in regard to facial and general " get up , " as well as his skill as an elocutionist . At the introductory performance Mr . Lee commenced with a

representation of " Shakespeare , " and then delivered the poet ' s well known lines commencing " All the world's a stage , " with considerable effect . This was followed by an almost immediate change into a representation of the Czar , in turn followed by the three German Emperors , with Prince Bismarck , Dickens , Tennyson and Mr . Gladstone as a conclusion , all being marvellous portraits , and what may be rightly termed faithful reproductions . The other items of the programme are as varied , entertaining and attractive as ever , and are nightly enjoyed by appreciative audiences .

Royal Aquarium . —The Aquarium has tho strongest bill of Easter attractions yet put forth . The performances commence at 10 a . m ., continuing uninterruptedly up to 11 * 40 p . m ., and for one shilling entrance visitors can remain the whole day and evening . Amongst the many and varied items there are more sensational and remarkable turns than have ever yet been witnessed in one building . The principal performances of the day and evening will commence at 2 and 7 , but as early as 10 a . m . there is an

hour ' s comical conjuring entertainment , and from 11 to 1 a great central stage variety show . Over one hundred- Artists are engaged , and whilst retaining in the programme most of the leading artistes whose feats are the surprise of London , several others are specially engaged for the six weeks ' great Easter holiday carnival . Swimming performances take place at intervals , at which every style of fancy and trick swimming is executed by professional lady and gentlemen swimmers .

A circular has been issued in connection with a proposed bazaar to raise £ 1 , 500 on behalf of the Building Fund of Mother Lodge , Kilwinning . The bazaar will be held in the Trades ' House , Glasgow , early in December of this year , and if the sum named is realised the Lodge will be placed in a sound financial

position . " Looking back on the ancient history and traditions of Mother Kilwinning , " continues the circular , " and considering her unique position in Scottish Freemasonry , the committee

have every confidence in making this appeal , and they feel assured that the Brethren of all the Lodges will give a ready and generous support . " Bros . Laurence Mathieson and John Milne , Kilwinning , are the joint Secretaries .
