M . said one of the most pleasant duties that had devolved on him since his occupation of the chair had now to be undertaken ; thia was the presentation of a jewel to the retiring Worshipful Master , Bro . Hammond . This gift of jewels was , in some Lodges , looked

npon almost as a part of the routine work ; this would not be tho case in the Trinity Collegn Lodge . It was not tho intention to present jewels unless they were fairly earned . The I . P . M . was fully entitled to a jewel , and he hoped he would regard it in a twofold light . First , it had been voted for the able manner in which Bro . Hammond had discharged the duties of the chair ; and secondly , as a token of the members' respect aud appreciation of his worth . Bro . Hammond I . P . cate the feelings so kindly expressed by the W . M . The Lod ge was then closed till February . The brethren partook of an excellent banquet and dessert , provided by Messrs . Withers and Englefield . Tho W . M . proposed the toasfc of the Queen and the Craft . The glee , " In Autumn we should Drink , " was sung by Bras . Hodges , Taylor , Wallace Wells , and Stanley Smith . The toasfc of His Royal Highness

the Prince of Wales Most Worshipful Grand Master was given . The " Magic Hour" was sung , the W . M . accompanying on the piano . After fcho Grand Officers' toast , Bro . J . Hammond I . P . M . rose to propose the health of the Worship ful Master . Bro . Stark was one of the Founders of tho College , as well as of the Locige , where all thought he was the right man in the right place . then sang " He and She . " The W . M ., in reply , felt great pleasure in responding to the toast proposed by Bro . Hammond . Iu carrying out the duties required of him he knew he could rely on the co-operation of the Officers . M . for his courtesy in ad . ministering the third degree to a member of his Lodge , wherein he hoped to have the pleasure , on a future occasion , of greeting him . The W . M . then proposed the toasfc of the Installing Master , Bro , Hammond I . P . M . All knew tho circumstances under whioh he took

tbe chair of the Lodge , which ho now leaves in strength and prosperity . Bro . Hammond , in eloquent terms , responded ; he felt tho jewel thafc had been presented to him was a mark of fcheir appreciation . He regretted to say two of tbe Pasfc Masters had resigned the Lodge ; he had frequently heard it said that the Past Masters were the backbone of a Lodge ; if this were so , he was proud to be one

them . If they required his services they were always at command . For the toast of the Masonic Press Broa . Massey and H . M . Levy responded . Then came the toasfc of the Officers , coupled with the name of the S . W . This having been responded to , the Tyler ' s toast was given . Several glees were sung by Bros . Hodges , Taylor , W . Wells , and Stanley Smith , and the evening was rendered doubly enjoyable by the ability displayed by these artists .

THE annual Installation meeting of this young bat prosperous Lodge , which is just commencing the fourth year of its existence , took place on Tnesday evening last , at the Guildhall Tavern , Gresham-street , where there was a large attendance , especially of Visitors . On the re-admission of the brethren the newly-installed Wor . Master was proclaimed , saluted , and greeted with the usual honours , and ho then proceeded to invest his Officers for the ensuing year , the collars being thns

Some formal business having been transacted , the brethren adjourned to the bauqnettinghall , where a sumptuous repast had been provided by Messrs

Ritter and Clifford , whose arrangement , under the personal superintendence of Bro . Henry Mills , gave unqualified satisfaction . At tho conclusion of the repast the Loyal and Masonic toasts were giver , from the chair and duly honoured , tho health of the new W . M . being received with especial cordiality . In responding , Bro . Thompson thanked the brethren for the honour they had conferred upon him ,

aud assured them that he should exert his utmost efforts to promote the welfare of the Lodge . In proposing the health of the Immediate Pasfc Master , he spoke of the efficient manner in which he had discharged the duties of the chair during his term of office , and begged his acceptance of a handsome Past Master ' s jewel , as a mark of the respect and esteem in which he was held by the brethren , and in

recognition of the valuable services he had rendered to the Lodge . The toast was most cordially received , ancl Bro . Grove , in acknowledging the compliment paid to him , thanked the brethren for their generous gift , and promised to render all the assistance he conld to his successor during the time he should rule over the Locige . npon almost as a part of the routine work ; this would not be tho case in the Trinity Collegn Lodge . It was not tho intention to present jewels unless they were fairly earned . The I . P . M . was fully entitled to a jewel , and he hoped he would regard it in a twofold light . First , it had been voted for the able manner in which Bro . Hammond had discharged the duties of the chair ; and secondly , as a token of the members' respect aud appreciation of his worth . Bro . Hammond I . P . Iu carrying out the duties required of him he knew he could rely on the co-operation of the Officers . M . then proposed the toasfc of the Installing Master , Bro , Hammond I . P . M . All knew tho circumstances under whioh he took

tbe chair of the Lodge , which ho now leaves in strength and prosperity . Bro . Hammond , in eloquent terms , responded ; he felt tho jewel thafc had been presented to him was a mark of fcheir appreciation . He regretted to say two of tbe Pasfc Masters had resigned the Lodge ; he had frequently heard it said that the Past Masters were the backbone of a Lodge ; if this were so , he was proud to be one

them . If they required his services they were always at command . For the toast of the Masonic Press Broa . Massey and H . M . Levy responded . Then came the toasfc of the Officers , coupled with the name of the S . W . This having been responded to , the Tyler ' s toast was given . Several glees were sung by Bros . Hodges , Taylor , W . Wells , and Stanley Smith , and the evening was rendered doubly enjoyable by the ability displayed by these artists .

THE annual Installation meeting of this young bat prosperous Lodge , which is just commencing the fourth year of its existence , took place on Tnesday evening last , at the Guildhall Tavern , Gresham-street , where there was a large attendance , especially of Visitors . At tho conclusion of the repast the Loyal and Masonic toasts were giver , from the chair and duly honoured , tho health of the new W . M . being received with especial cordiality . In responding , Bro . Thompson thanked the brethren for the honour they had conferred upon him ,

aud assured them that he should exert his utmost efforts to promote the welfare of the Lodge . In proposing the health of the Immediate Pasfc Master , he spoke of the efficient manner in which he had discharged the duties of the chair during his term of office , and begged his acceptance of a handsome Past Master ' s jewel , as a mark of the respect and esteem in which he was held by the brethren , and in

recognition of the valuable services he had rendered to the Lodge . The toast was most cordially received , ancl Bro . Grove , in acknowledging the compliment paid to him , thanked the brethren for their generous gift , and promised to render all the assistance he conld to his successor during the time he should rule over the Locige .
