ON Thursday , 2 nd insfc ., the ceremony of installing the Worshipful Master took place , afc the Masonic Hall , Reading . At the former meeting of the Lodge , Bro . G . H . Stubington was elected to fill the office of W . M . for the ensuing year . On Thursday , prior to the commencement of the ceremony , the W . M . ( Bro . B . W . Bennett ) moved that a letter of condolence be sent to the widow aud daughters

of the late Bro . Robert Bradley , expressing the greafc regret of the Lodge at his death . Tho W . M . mado the proposition in a few appropriate words , and Bro . Stubington seconded ifc in a sympathetic speech . He said that Bro . Bradley carried into every day life the principles which he had learnt in Masonic Lodges . Bro . Stubington

referred to the foundation of the Kendrick Lodge , aud to the greafc and uniform kindness shown to him by Bro . Bradley on that and on all other occasions . The ceremony of installation was then proceeded wifch , the major portion being performed by the W . M . ( Bro . Bennett ) , and the remainder by P . M . ' s Flanagan and Cooke . Afc fche conclusion

'PHE anniversary vvas celebrated on Thursday , 25 th nlfc ,, when X Bro . E . B . Jackson was installed as W . M . for the ensuing year . appropriately replied . In responding to the toasfc of the Installing Master , Bro . Smith mentioned thab he had initiated twelve candidates during the last twelve months . Bro . E . J . Hammersley submitted the toast of the Masonio Charities , in an eloquent speech . He said the finances of the Josiah Wedgwood Lodge were in a satisfactory

condition . Bro . E . V . Greatbacb made a suitable response fco the toast . Bro . W . Tooth proposed the Officers of the Lodge , for whom Bro . White responded , and this was followed by fche Tyler ' s toast . Several brethren contributed vooal music and recitations , and , the evening was spent very pleasantly .

AT a meeting held afc the Masonio Hall , Merthyr , on Thursday , fche 2 nd inet ., a number of visitors were present . An i nfcererestiug presentation was made by Bro , D . Eees Lewis W . M ., on behalf of the brethren , to Bro . T . J . Dyke , in recognition of his Masonic services during tho 52 years he has been a member of the

Lodge . The presentation took the form of a beautiful gold jewel , upon the upper portion of whioh was engraved " T . J . Dyke P . M ., for his services , 1839 to 1890 , " the words " Loyal Cambrian Lodge , No . 110 , " occurring on the lower part ; of the design . Brother Dyke responded in suitable terms .

The enjoyment of a very pleasant evening waa considerably added to by tha vocalisation of Mr . Albert Barnard , who rendered some charming songs in an excellent manner , being ably accoinpauied by Mr . Psrcy Statues , who presided afc tho piano .

POMFRET LODGE , No . 360 .

ON Thursday , the 2 nd insfc ., the members celebrated the holding of their first Lodgo in the new Masonic Hall by a banquet and a soiree , dansanto . At the banqueb tho chair was occupied by the W . M . of the Pomfrot Bro . H . A . Robinson , and tlio vice-chairs wero filled by Broa . Georgo Butcher P . G . S . W ., and John Ennson I . P . M . De La Pro . The chairman was supported by the Mayor of Northampton

( Air . William Mills , J . P . ) and the D . P . G . M . Bro . Butler Wilkins P . G . Std . B . Eng . Tho brethren and ladies present numbered about 80 . Tho usual Masonic toasts woro duly honoured . Bro . Halt P . M . Pomfrot P . G . D . C . superintended the arrangements . Th ? programme waa agreeably diversified by the efforts of threo ladies . Miss Hopo

Wilkins recited Edgar Ailau Poe ' s " Tlio Bulls . " Jt was a perforin , auce of exquisite beauty and remarkable power . Ifc vvas a musical and dvaiuutio revolution of fcho poeo ' a wondrous conception—anon bright , and then gloomy , bufc always impressive . Thia young lady hiiB fcho gift of imagination , and knows how to project hor conception if

bho poeb s mind into the minds of her hearers . Mies Florence Wilkins , with a deep and rich contralto , gavo a beautiful rendnrinsr . of an old love song . Alias Smith sang with sweetness ami power , '' Old Timo Memories . " Following the banquet was the dance , to which other Masons and lady visitors came . An excellent piogramme had be « u provided , and with Bro . C . E . Thorpo as n , « enial aud energetic M . C ,

"all went merry as a marriage bell . The floor—the dance took place in the upper room—was praised most warmly on every hand . The introduction of the ladies into Masonic festivities was an innovation which met wibh general approval , as adding greatly to the pleasure of tho gathering . Mr . Louis Warner ' a hand was in attendance .

White responded , and this was followed by fche Tyler ' s toast . Several brethren contributed vooal music and recitations , and , the evening was spent very pleasantly .

AT a meeting held afc the Masonio Hall , Merthyr , on Thursday , fche 2 nd inet ., a number of visitors were present . An i nfcererestiug presentation was made by Bro , D . Eees Lewis W . M ., on behalf of the brethren , to Bro . T . J . Dyke , in recognition of his Masonic services during tho 52 years he has been a member of the

Lodge . The presentation took the form of a beautiful gold jewel , upon the upper portion of whioh was engraved " T . J . Dyke P . M ., for his services , 1839 to 1890 , " the words " Loyal Cambrian Lodge , No . 110 , " occurring on the lower part ; of the design . Brother Dyke responded in suitable terms .

The enjoyment of a very pleasant evening waa considerably added to by tha vocalisation of Mr . Albert Barnard , who rendered some charming songs in an excellent manner , being ably accoinpauied by Mr . Psrcy Statues , who presided afc tho piano .

POMFRET LODGE , No . 360 .

ON Thursday , the 2 nd insfc ., the members celebrated the holding of their first Lodgo in the new Masonic Hall by a banquet and a soiree , dansanto . At the banqueb tho chair was occupied by the W . M . of the Pomfrot Bro . H . A . Robinson , and tlio vice-chairs wero filled by Broa . Georgo Butcher P . G . S . W ., and John Ennson I . P . M . De La Pro . The chairman was supported by the Mayor of Northampton

( Air . William Mills , J . P . ) and the D . P . G . M . Bro . Butler Wilkins P . G . Std . B . Eng . Tho brethren and ladies present numbered about 80 . Tho usual Masonic toasts woro duly honoured . Bro . Halt P . M . Pomfrot P . G . D . C . superintended the arrangements . Th ? programme waa agreeably diversified by the efforts of threo ladies . "all went merry as a marriage bell . The floor—the dance took place in the upper room—was praised most warmly on every hand . The introduction of the ladies into Masonic festivities was an innovation which met wibh general approval , as adding greatly to the pleasure of tho gathering . Mr .
