The Frascati Restaurant.

THE FRASCATI RESTAURANT .

IT would , at tbe present time , be hard to find a place that is more elaborately and artistically fitted up than the new Frascati Restaurant , which is situated on the northern side of Oxford Street , fifty yards from Tottenham Court Eoad . The main hall is called the Winter Garden , and certain it is tbat this name is adequately adapted for it , for tbe vast hall is so liberallv decorated with fern * ,

palms , and shrubs of all descriptions , that it makes us feel as if we were seated in some large garden . It is needless to say tbat the electric light is laid on all over the building , and in the large hall alone there are nearly 1 , 000 incandescent lamps . The ground floor of this hall is occupied as a Cafe Restaurant , while the balcony is reserved for table d'hote and French dinners . These dinners , are of

the most sumptuous kind , and served in a way that does infinite credit to the management . A capital band , under the direction of Bro . Henry Tinney , gives a selection of music between six and ten , so it will be seen that everything is done for tbe comfort of the visitors . The Frascati has also a luncheon buffet , aud here the most carefnl man may have no fear of being charged a high price for hia " snack , "

for we notice that the prices are exceedingly low . The billiard room , containing five English and three French tables , is also made most comfortable , while the ladies toilet room is one ot the best fitted we ever lemember to havo seen . The grand banqueting hall , capable of dining 150 gneits , is at times used for

balls , and we feel sure tbat the room is adequately adapted for the purposes it is put to . But wha ' , perhaps , is of most interest to our readers is the Masonic Hall , and here we find everything as it should be . The hall is cosy , and admirably suited for a Masonic home , and we feel snre that when it is better known the Frascati will have

several of our London Lodges meeting in its hall ; at present tbe Tivoli is the only Lodge meeting there . In addition to the rooms wo have mentioned , private salons for club and society dinners , wedding breakfasts , and family dinner parties can be had , nnd from what we saw 'of these rooms ou the occasion of our visit we feel sure they will give the greatest satisfaction . The cuisine is of the very best quality , in fact , we have only to mention that the proprietary

is the same as that at the Holborn Restaurant to show that everything is bound to be first class . The manager is Bro . Gustave F . Lambert , and we feel sure that with his vast experience visitors to the Frascati will not want for anything . We trust Bro . Lambert , who is ably assisted by Mr . Hamp jun ., will long be in command , and tbat the fortunes of tbe Frascati will greatly increase under his able guidance .

The Old Masonians.

THE OLD MASONIANS .

IT was unfortunate for this rising association that there was such a small muster of members and their friends , on Friday , the 2 nd inst ., at the first of a series of three Cinderella dances , to be held at Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet Street , E . C . Disappointments were many , but the thirty or forty who were present had tho pleasure of enjoying a most bappy evening . Everything was done by the M . C . ' s ,

Messrs . W . J . Packer and E . A . B . Gougb , to make tho company thoroughly comfortable , and we feel sure that these geutlemen succeeded . Dancing commenced at about 7 * 30 , and with the fourteen dances down on the programme and two extras , the Cinderella was kept going in right merry style until twelve o ' clock , when the company dispersed after spending a most enjoyable evening . Every praise is

due to the Hon . Secretaries , Messrs . W . J . Packer and E . A . B . Gough , for the way they worked for the success of the dance , and it is certainly not their fault that it was not better attended . " Old Masonians , " show your better appreciation of the association by mustering in strong force at the second Cinderella , whioh will take place on the 3 rd February next ,
