United Grand Lodge.

The Report of the Board of General Purposes was taken as read ; the proposal therein to increase the salaries of the junior clerks in the Grand Secretary ' s office was agreed to , the £ 100 was voted in continuation of the pension of the

late Assistant Grand Secretary Bro . A * . A . Pendlebury , and the Hervey Lodge , No . 1788 , was erased ; but the other item , to which we referred last week , as indirectly ; : opening up the question of confirmation of Minutes , was not gone

into . Bro . Lamonby brought forward the proposition of which he had given notice , and he was seconded by Bro . Richard Eve , who felt that members of Lodges should have an opportunity of presenting reasons why their Warrant should not be cancelled .

The Grand Registrar saw no good reason wh y the proposition should be opposed . If instructions were issued for certain Warrants ; to be called in it , was only right a reasonable amount of time should elapse before they were

actually cancelled , in order to guard against any irregularity , and this view was accepted by Grand Lodge . The proceedings were afterwards brought to a conclusion in regular order .
