The minutes of the last regular meeting having boeu read and confirmed , and the ordinary business of the Lodgo transacted , the brethren adjourned to supper , which was succeeded by the usual festive board , where Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , the same being agreeable varied by songs and recitations .

Durbury P . M ., who also presented the working tools and recited the traditional history . As will be seen from the list of those present , the cironmstance had attracted an unuanalty large number of

members and visitors , who were desirous of testifying thoir regard for such a popular man as Bro . Harwood . At the festive board whioh followed Bro . Harwood , in responding to the toast of bis health , said that for the third time in a short period he found himself in that position . He felt himself unworthy of all that had been said of him , and at this late hour of his life could not reasonably hope to obtain

distinction in this or any other Lodge , but he would try to bocomo a humble , faithfnl , and usoful member . Hefioishod au excellent speooh by saying that he had been very muoh impressed by the ceremony through which he had passed . Other toasts followed , and songs and Bketohes were rendered by Bros . Forrest , Norton , Dumville , Roberts , and others , a most enjoyable evening being spent .

ARNOLD LODGE , No . 1799 . THE installation meeting of the above Lodge was held at the Mariue Hotel , Walton-on-Naze , on Tuesday , the 30 th ult ., and in consequence of thero being many visitors from London and elsewhere , who had to leavo by tho last train , 6 30 , tho Lodgo was oalled for 2 p . m . sharp . Bro . Pongolly , Chief Officer of the Const Goard » , was raised to tho enblimo degree of a M . M ., after which the

installation ceremony was performed by the outgoing W . M ., Brothei W . E . Sutton , in a most beautiful and impressive marinei- . Amongst the members of tho Lodge present were tho W . M . and P . M . ' s Bros . Scott , Dorling , Scarlett , Finer , Wilkinson ; and Bros . Hnrman , Purvip , Osmond , Randall , It . Scarlett , Pengelly , Loonies , W . Wright

necessary work having been got through , the Lodgo was closed . At 4 * 45 the brethren , to the number of 40 , sat down to a banquet well served by the new manager of the Marine Hotel , Bro . Boultou , late manager of the Great Eastern Railway Hotel , Liverpool Street . A very good menu was placed before the brothren . Tho W . M . most

considerately presented each brother dining with his banquet tiokot , exclusive of wine , he being from his birth a total abstainer . Tho musical portion of the banquet was dolightfully rendered by Mrs . Wilkinson and Miss Wright , of Bentley , nnd most charmingly were the songs and accompaniments given . Before the Tyler ' s toast

the Worshipful Master urged on tho brethren to support the Provincial Grand Master , Lord Brooko , as tho President at the Boys ' School Festival , both with their attendance nnd subscriptions . After a delig htful day the brethren left the table abont nine , to enjoy a sniff of the briny ocean .

M . officiated as Installing Mastor , being

MINNEHAHA MINSTREL LODGE , No . 2363 . rpiIE date of thq ordinary Lodgo night falling upon Whit Monday , L a day sacred to Saint Lnbbock , and rendered doubly important by being tlio children's Saturnalia in connection with the Sunday Schools of tho Established Church in and around tho city of Manchester , the Minnehaha meeting was postponed until Tuesday , tho 23 rd May . As anticipated , tbore was a very sparse attendance

of members , and tho business of the Lodge was disposed of in an expeditions and purely formal manner . Heedless of thoughts that would onr joy restrain . Indeed , our gladness recks net of refrain—For wo who are accepted and aro Free Would still allow of mirth and jollity , Knowing our pleasure hath no pangs of pain . And I . e . our Brother of the fertile brain ,
