Farnfield , the usual £ 70 was voted for providing coals to tho inmates of tho Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , at Croydon , during the winter season . On the motion of Bro . F . A . Philbrick , Q . C , fcho appeal by Bro . Francis W . Hollar , W . M . of thc Phoenix Lodge , No . 'J 14 , was dismissed , and Grand Lodge was then closed .

W . M . did not arrive in timo for fcho meeting fixed by fcho byohv . vs for installation , and that tho W . M . eloot was consequently installed at tho next regular moating . As he will therefore servo the offic ; of W . M . for 10 months oulv , as ifc would be

most inconvenient to alter tho byo-laws , tho Boird recommend Grand Lodge fco confirm Bro . Brady in fcho rank aud privileges of P . M ., notwithstanding the absence of qualification by serving short of 12 months .

They recommend that a graufc of £ 10 10 s be made from tho General Fund of Grand Lodge towards a special fund which is being raised for the benefit of Bro . Thos . Poore , whose distinguished services in Lodges of Instruction in tho Mark degree fully merit , in their opinion , this recognition from Grand Lodge .

Tho Board acknowledge , with thanks , opies of Proceedings of Grand Chapters of Indiana , Canada , Massachusetts , New Jersey , Oregon , Minnesota , Pennsylvania , and Scotland . Tho twentieth Anniversary Festival of the Mark Benevolent Fnnd will be held at the Freemasons' Tavern , Great Queen

Street , on tho 2 oth July , and R . W . Bro . the Mosfc Hon . tho Marquis of Hertford , Depnty Grand Master , has most kindly consented to preside . Ifc is confidently hoped that tho exertions of fcho Board of Stewards and the liberality of the Members of the Order will enable tho General Board to maintain , and even

increase the usefulness of this mosfc deserving Charity , which up to fche present has been able to accept every candidate without incurring tho expense and anxiety of a contested election . The Board announce that the sum of £ 2207 4 s 9 d was received on behalf of the Benevolent Festival of 1887 , and thafc , after payment of the necessarv expenses ,
