The Lodge hiring De ^ closed , the Brethren adjourned , and afterwards joined their ladv friends who gathered in good force . 3 jjr 0 < Moorhouse , with his usual lavishness , had furnished an excellent table and members and visitors alike were amply fortified previous to the o „ fAi 4 ainment which was to follow .
Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , the health of the W . M . being proposed by Bro . Barnes P . M . who said of Bro . Harrison that so far he had fulfilled the duties of his office in a creditable manner . Upon the first nig ht of his occupancy of the chair he had performed tho arduous task of nassing and raising . This in itself was satisfactory , but when he stated
that the ceremonies had been done in a most admirable manner , tne lact deserved especial mention . That evening they had an evidence of his zeal in the magnificent way he had catered for all , and more especially for the ladies , who would no doubt be grateful to him . He called upon all present to drink his health in the most enthusiastic manner possible . his auditors tnat wicn mixeu
Bro . Harrison responded , assuring ne spoue feelings of gratitude for favours received at their hands , and pride in the knowledge that he was presiding as their Worshipful Master . He reverted to the presence ol tho ladies , to whom he offered a cordiar welcome , concratulating all of them upon their appearance .
Bro . Kay P . M . proposed the health of the ladies in a very neat and appropriate speech . Bro . McLeod responded . He said this was the second time in his career upon which he had been called to perform the pleasant duty of replying on behalf of the ladies , and it was evident that the Brethren must think he had some especial qualifications for the task . It was probable that with the natural curiosity of the sex , the ladies desired to learn what they could of
their proceedings , and on this occasion they were actually going to take part in them . He welcomed the guests , and hoped they would enjoy themselves , feeling sure that the Brethren wero eagerly looking forward to join them in the pleasures which were in store . The company then indulged in dancing , which was continued until the matin . Brothers Greenup P . M . and Griffiths acted as Directors of
Ceremonies . During the evening , songs and recitations were contributed by Brothers Pollitt , Mellor , Griffiths , and Roberts .
ROYAL LODGE , No . 643 . THE fortieth anniversary was held on Monday , 11 th ult ., in the Lodge Room , Foord's Hotel , Filey . There was a large attendance of members , also Visitors from the Sister Lodges of Scarborough and Bridlington . The principal business was to instal Bro . R . McBean , the ceremony being ably performed by the retiring W . M . Bro . G . W . Tindall . Afterwards the Worshipful Master and over forty Brethren sat down to a substantial dinner , well-served by Mr . Fountain , of the above old established Hotel .
The usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured . o o o CAMALODUNUM LODGE , No . 660 . THE Lodge celebrated its annual festival at the Masonic Hall , Malton , on the 19 th ulc , when Bro . Staveley Wallgate J . W . was installed , the ceremony being performed by Bro . A . W . Walker P . M . P . P . G . D . C .
The annual banquet vvas afterwards held at tho Talbot Hotel , the W . M . presiding over a good attendance of Brethren of tho Lodgo , and Visitors from York , Scarborough , and other Lodges in the Province .
HOLMESDALE LODGE , No . 874 . AT the ordinary meeting on Wednesday , 20 th ult ., at tho Pump Eoom , Tunbridge Wells , which was numerously attended , Bro . W . Eoper S . W . was unanimously elected as Worshipful Master for the ensuing
year . At tho banquet afterwards , held at the Kentish Hotel , Bro . E . Oliver W . M . was in the chair .
A high compliment was passed to Bro . Oliver for the manner in which ho had discharged the duties of his responsible office during tho year . On the proposition of Brother Scott the health of tho Worshi pful Masterelect Bro . Roper was heartily given and received , a fitting response being made .

The ceremony of installation was most impressively performed by Bro . W . F . Lamonby P . M . P . P . S . G . W . P . G . W . of Victoria , Australia .

The Brethren afterwards adjourned to a banquet excellently served by Bro . W . Wilson , Keswick Hotel , after which the usual Loyal and Masonio toasts were given and a very enjoyable evening was passed in love and harmony .
Before tho Lodge was closed , Brothers W . I . Atkinson , Hodgson , and Swinburn made an addition to the Lodge furniture in tho shape of a beautiful tripod , winch , and ashlar , the work of the donors mentioned . A cordial vote of thanks was also accorded the Installing Master for coming from London in such severe weather to perform the duty of the day .
TORRIDGE LODGE , No . 1185 . nnHE annual festival took place on Monday , 11 th ult ., when Bro . W . Werry JL was installed in the chair hy Bro . Hagley . Bro . Rousham P . M . was elected representative on the Committee of Petitions . The Brethren then adjourned to Bro . Tapley's Globe Hotel , where the hanquet was held .

ON Monday , 18 th ult ., the Right Hon . the Viscount Dungarvan honoured the Lodge with his presence , and presided over a large and influential gathering on the occasion of the annual installation at the Assembly Rooms , Yatton . The Provincial Grand Master of Somerset installed Bro . E . W . Statham as W . M . for the ensuing year , and he appointed his Officers .
After the ceremony , the Eight Hon . P . G . M . presided at the banquet , which reflected great credit on Bro . Mountsteyens and his management . A . thoroughly pleasant evening was spent , several visiting . Brethren , from neighbouring Lodges being present . o o 0

THE annual installation was held at the freemasons' Hall , Dover , on Monday , 18 th ult ., when Bro . David Henry Wilson was installed by , Bro . G . Nugent Thorp the retiring W . M ., who , at the close of the ceremony , was presented with a P . M . ' s jewel , in recognition of his services during the past year . The musical programme of the " Musical Lodge of Kent" was well represented by a competent choir , who were strengthened by some Brethren from Canterbury , which greatly enhanced the beauty of the ritual .
The installation was celebrated in the usual way by a banquet , which took place at the Grand Hotol the same evening , when a first-class bill of faro was provided ( under the superintendence of Mr . and Mrs . Wain , the manager and manageress of the Hotel ) , which gave every satisfaction . The Worshipful Master was supported by between fifty and sixty Brethren ,
amongst whom were several from the neighbouring towns . It may be mentioned as rather an unique coincidont , says tho " Dover Standard , " that amongst tho company were two gentlemen who had been educated at the Masonic Institution for Boys , and who had happened to be school fellows together .
TALBOT LODGE , No . 1323 . rpHE annual meeting was held on tho 21 st ult ., when Bro . A . P . Steeds I was installed for tho second timo as Worshipful Master , . Amongst those who attended was the Provincial Grand Master the Eight Hon . Lord Llangattock , who was given a very enthusiastic reception by the large number present . Deputy-Provincial Grand Master Marmaduke Tennant and Bro . Sir John Jenkins were also present .
Lord Llangattock was invited to present a Past Master ' s jewel to Bro . C . H . Glascodine on his retirement from the chair . His lordship said that he was highly pleased to have the privilege of making the presentation on behalf of the Lodge ; though it might appear selfish to take that pleasure out of the hands of the Brethren who had worked with Bro . Glascodine . Still ho could not resist , at the invitation of the Lodge . He trusted that it would
bo taken as a tangible proof of the warmth of feeling on the part of the Brethren to the recipient , and that he would be reminded of the many happy days past spent in the Lodge and the work of Masonry . Further , he hoped that it would be an inducement to Bro . Glascodine to visit the Lodge as often as he could , and give assistance to his successor .
Bro . Glascodine said he felt greatly gratified for this mark of friendship on the part of the Brethren , and very grateful to Lord Llangattock for the kind words he had used in making the presentation . So . far as his experience of the Lodge had gone , it had been an expression on all hands of Brotherly love and affection . He thanked them for their valuable gift , which would be placed among his most treasured possessions .
The Worshipful Master expressed himself as very grateful to Lord Llangattock lor his visit to Swansea . He did not desire to claim it as an especial compliment to tho Talbot Lodgo , hut an honour which should be shared between the three local Lodges . He hoped that he would be able in thc future to pay visits to the others .
Lord Llangattock thanked the Brethren for the heartiness oi their reception . He was very pleased to come among them ; very gratified at the reception given him , and greatly impressed with the working of the Lodge , and the waim iceling which was evidently inspiring members in their work .
