Reports Of Meetings.
The banquet was held at the Mackworth Hotel immediately after the close of the Lodge , and presided over by the Worshipful Master , who was supported by Lord Llangattock .

After the minutes of the former meeting had been read and confirmed , Mr . William Lea , Merchant , Hulme , was balloted for , and this being successful , he was prepared and duly initiated by the W . M ., who was assisted by Bros . Chas , Rawle S . W ., and X . A . Holland J . W ., tho former rendering the Antient Charge , and the latter presenting and explaining the Working Tools .
A long and pleasant night succeeded in connection with the festive board , the following taking a prominent part in the enjoyment : Bros . W . T . Hesketh , Fryer , Nail , Beever , Moult and Bloomer . Bro . Rushton proposed the health of the candidate , who responded , saying he thanked the Brethren for their reception of him . He thought he had that night taken a step which he would never regret .
Bro . Hesketh proposed the health of the W . M ., and spoke in very high terms of his work in the ceremonial . It was a good augury of many very pleasant evenings which they might hopefully look forward to . Bro . Pickford , in reply , said it would be his highest endeavour to give them every satisfaction during his term of office .
Brother Nail proposed the healths of the Visitors , and the latter , in responding , were unanimous in praising those Officers who had taken part in the ceremonial . o o o

Gilbert Lees Hardcastle , and John Harold Burton were raised to the sublime degree of M . M ., the first ceremony being performed by Bro . Harrop P . M ., and the second by the W . M , Bro . Clough S . W . afterwards presented and explained the Working Tools of the Degree to Bro . Hardcastle .
The usual festive board followed , when Loyal and Masonic toasts wero honoured . That of the newly-raised Brother ( Bro . Burton ) was proposed by Bro . Harrop , who , after explaining that the other candidate had been compelled to leave , said that this was the first time the Worshipful Master had given a ceremony into the hands of others , but it could hardly be expected that ho would himself undertake two upon one night . With regard to the work of raising Bro . Burton , both members and visitors may often
have seen the ceremony performed by men of experience , but he was sure that thoy had not seen it done in a better manner , for Brother Mosley was a Worshipful Master who knew his responsibilities , and was always careful in the work which he undertook . He knew as well as they did that those who performed the various Masonic ceremonies were responsible for the impression mado upon the minds of the candidates , an impression which was calculated to last for tho whole of their lives .
Bro . Burton had seemed to take a very great interest in the various degrees through which he had passed , and Bro . Harrop concluded by explaining to the candidate the powerful influence for good which the various lessons he had been taught might have upon him in the future .
Bro . Burton , in reply , thanied the Brethren most heartily for their kind reception of him . The last ceremony was certainly the most impressive of the three , and it would never he erased from bis mind . It was hardly possible to grasp it by hearing it once , but he sincerely hoped that the opportunity would be afforded him ot hearing it again .
o o o SOUTH DOWN LODGE , No . 1797 . ON the 20 th ult . the annual installation and banquet took place at the New Inn , Hurstpierpoint . The Lodge was opened by Bro . T . Wickham W . M ., in the presence of a goodly number of Lodge members and Visitors .
After an Initiation , the ceremony of installation was impressively performed by Bro , Wickham , Bro . 0 . Clarke S . W . being elevated to the chair . The addresses were respectively given by Bros . G . Rawlinson P . P . G . A . D . C , T . Wickham W . M ., and J . C . Buckwell P . P . G . J . W . Bio . Wickham was presented with a P . M . 's Jewel .
After the banquet the Masonic toasts were honoured , that of the Prov . Grand Lodge being coupled with thc names of Bro . J . P . Slingsby Roberts and Bro . Lamette . Both replied , the former speaking of the high position occupied by Sussex in connection with the Charities .

Knowing he had many good Officers he hoped at the end of his year it would be said he had done his duty to the satisfaction of all .
ST . KEYNA LODGE , No . 1833 . THE installation meeting was held at the Masonic Hall , Keynsham , on the 18 th ult . The W . M . Bro . B . H . Shrapnell presided . The W . M . - elect was installed according to ancient form by the D . P . G . M . Bro . R . C . Else , and appointed and invested his Officers . The Brethren subsequently dined together at the Lamb and Lark Hotel .
HARDMAN LODGE , No . 1948 . THE festival of St . John was celebrated at the Queen's Arms Hotel , Eawtenstall , on Monday , 11 th ult ., when Bro . Dr . Finlay was installed W . M . by Bro . Wm . Spencer P . M . After the Masonic ceremony tho Brethren of the Lodge , together with Visitors , numbering over seventy , partook of an excellent repast , which was provided by Bro . J . W . Brown , tho host .
ROBINSON LODGE , No . 2046 . THE Lodge was entertained by his Worship tho Mayor , Bro . G . F . Baker , at the Mitre Hotel , Maidstono , to a supper on tho 20 th ult . About forty Brethren were able to accept tho invitation , and a most harmonious evening was spent .
The toast of tho evening , tho Host , received a most enthusiastic reception , and his Worship , who is a member of the Belvedere Lodge , No . 503 , expressed the great pleasure it gave him to entertain the Brethren . It is noteworthy that the Robinson does not confine itself to Masonio
Charities , says the " Kent Times , " for at the timo of , the floods in Maidstone several tons of coals were provided for those who had suffered , and on this evening , after the usual business , the sum of two guineas was voted to the Soup Kitchen .

THE annual festival was held in the Masonic Room , Scunthorpe , on the 8 th ult ., there being a large attendance . Bro . A . J . Wilkins was installed W . M . for the ensuing year by Bro . W . Langbridge .
Subsequently an adjournment was made to the Blue Bell Hotel , where an excellent banquet was provided by Bro . E . J . Swaby , after which the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts wero honoured . During the evening a P . M . 's jewel was presented to the retiring Master Bro . J . McCallum . o o o

THE annual installation was held in the Masonic Room , Olney , on Friday , 8 th ult ., when there was a large attendance . Bro . T . T . Coles was installed W . M . for the ensuing year , by Bro . L . Cooper P . P . G . S . W . The Lodge having been duly closed , the Brethren repaired to the Bull Hotel , where Bro . Smith had provided an excellent banquet . The minutes having been confirmed , and one of the Antient Charges read , Bro . Samuel Lingard Watts was passed to the degree of F . C . by the W . M ., the Working tools being presented and explained by Brother Harrop S . W . At the festive board which followed , Loyal and Masonio toasts were given
and responded to . The health of the newly-passed Brother was proposed by Bro . Wrigley P . M ., who spoke commendingiy of Bro . Watts , saying that he could recommend him to their notice . He was one of those whom the Prov . Grand Master ( Col . Starkie ) would cordially approve , a Brother whom they could unhesitatingly introduce to their own fireside .
Bro . Watts , in thanking them , said that during the time he was considering whether he should become a Mason or not , those who belonged to the Craft said comparatively nothing about it to him , while those who knew nothing about it said much in disparagement . He had learned , however , that Bro . Lambert , their Visitor of to-night , was a Mason , and that fact influenced him more than anything else in his decision .
Bro . Wrigley afterwards proposed the healths of the absent Brethren , and mentioned the names of Bros . Thomas and Hitching . Other toasts followed , the same being pleasantly varied by songs , recitations , & c , given by Bros . Beever W . M ., Harrop , Fred Hilton , Hamnett , Luke , Roberts , Todd , and Stubbs .
SHIRLEY WOOLMER LODGE , No . 2530 . THE monthly meeting of this Lodge was held on Tuesday , lflth ult ., at the Masonic Hall , Sidcup , this being the first meeting since the return of the Worshipful Master the Rev . Edward Shirley Woolmer from his wedding trip . There was a large attendance , and the Masonic work being of an extensive character , the proceedings of tho Lodge lasted until a late hour .
Prior to the closing a very interesting ceremony took place . The I . P . M . Bro . Major C , Wallington , V . D ., addressed the W . M . and tendered to him the congratulations of the Brethren of the Lodge upon his marriage . It was , he said , the desire of the Brethren to express in some tangible manner tho high regard in which their W . M . was held .
