Temple Lodge , No . 101 . —At tho meeting of this Lodge , on Tuesday , the 4 th inst ., there were present—Bros . Taylor W . M ., J . H . Thomas S . W ., T . Cos J . W ., W . Georgo S . D ., W . Beard I . G ., Fradd W . S ., Bond Treasurer ; and P . M . ' a AVynne , Scott , Uastelow , F . Cox , Grimbly and Yonle , besides a large muster of brethren . Among the visitors was Signor Campobello , who then entered an

English Lodgo for the first time . Mr . Albert Jones , solicitor , was ballotted for and unanimously elected , as was also Bro . Komano , late of tho AVestbourne Lodge , in which ho was initiated in 1861 , although ho took no further degreo . Mr . Jones was initiated by the W . M ., aud Bro . Komano was passed to tho second degree , both ceremonies being performed iu Bro . Taylor ' s usually efficient and impressive manner .

Afterwards the ballot was taken for tho W . M . for the ensuing year , and it was announced from tho chair , amid general applause , that Bro . J . IT . Thomas S . W . had been unanimously elected . Bro . Bond was re-elected Treasurer , for tho eleventh . Urae , and Bro . Potter was re-elected Tyler . On tho Lodge being closed , tho brethren adjourned to a sumptuous banquet provided by Bro . Painter . Among the toasts given was " Tho health of Bro . Campobello , " who , in response ,

expressed his gratification at tho cordial welcome given him ou the occasion of his first visit to an English Lodge , and announced his intention of commemorating tho event by giving a concert , in conjunction with his wifo ( Madame Sinico ) , during tho month of February , in aid of the Boys' School . This noblo offer was naturally received with vociferous applause . Bro . Campobello favoured the brethren with several songs during the evening , being accompanied on the pianoforte by Bro . Eomano .

Old Concord Lodge , No . 172 . —A meeting was held on Tuesclay , the 4 th inst ., at Freemasons' Hall , Great Queen-street . Tho chair was occupied by tho W . M ., Bro . J . Sandilands Ward , and the following officers wero present : —Bros . Alf . Dottridgo S . W ., W . P . Goosey J . W ., J . Hancock P . M . Treasurer , Geo . King P . M . Secretary , Ganbort S . D ., Gladvvoll I . G . ; P . M . ' s Bros . G . Hockley , Thos .

Holland , James Jackson , G . Watson , & c . Visitors—Bros . J . H . southwood W . M . 1260 , It . Burleton SCO , Morgan 1385 , E . Brown 1685 , & c . The Lodge having been opened and all formalities complied with , the ballot was taken for Mr . John Raymond Piednue ; it proved satisfactory , and that gentleman received Masonio light . There were two candidates for the third degree ; they wore both present , aud duly

advanced . Bros . F . H . Hare and P . J . Heidelberger were passed to tho second degreo . All the ceremonies were performed by tho W . M ., and he acquitted himself most creditably , and created a deep impression on the several candidates . The selection of W . M . for the ensuing year resulted in tho unanimous election of Bro . Alfred Dottridgo , who in graceful terms acknowledged tho compliment paid him

by the brethren . Bro . Hancock P . M . was re-elected Treasurer , and Bro . Speight , by a show of hands , was re-appointed Tyler . Bros . Hilton , Newson and Stedman were appointed Auditors . The Stewards for the Annnal Ball were then selected ; the following are the brethren who will act : —A . Dottridgo , J . S . Ward , G . Watson , J . Hancock , G . Hockley , E . Dottridge , Stedman , Goosey aud Gaubert .

The W . M . announced that the petition which had been presented to the Board of Benevolence on behalf of tho daughter of a deceased brother had been graciously received , aud he , afc the same time , expressed his thanks to Bro . George King jun ., P . M . of the Hervey Lodge , for the kind way in which he had supported the caso . The second case recommended by the members of the Old Concord Lodge

had also received favourable consideration , and the brethren expressed their satisfaction at the result . It was proposed by Bro . King and seconded by the I . P . M ., that the customary amount be voted from the Lodgo funds to present the retiring AV . M . with a past Master ' s jewel on his leaving the chair . This was carried unanimously , as was also a proposition that a sum of £ 10 be voted for tho Eoyal Masonic Benevolent Institution , tho amount to be placed on the

list of Bro . Georgo Watson , who will represent the Lodge at the next Festival . After this had been acknowledged , the Lodge was closed . Although this was supposed to bo an " oft' night , " a capital banquet was supplied , and tho W . M . presided in a most happy and genial fashion . Pressure on onr space prevents us giving a full report of the speeches ; suffice it to say full honour was done to the customary toasts , and a most pleasant and harmonious evening was spent .

Lodge of Joppa . No . 188 . —A meeting of this Lodge was held on Monday , the 3 rd inst ., at the Albion Tavern , Aldersgate . street . Bros . L . Lazarus W . M ., Miller S . W ., M . Spiegel J . Five brethren wero appointed to servo on the Committee of Management , and eight brethren on the Committee of tho Benevolent Fund . The resignation of a brother was accepted , with regret . Bro . A . G . Dodson I . P . M . proposed , and Bro . M . Alexander seconded , that a snm of five guineas he voted from the funds of the Lodge to form a nucleus for tho

purpose of presenting the W . Master with a 1 ' ast Master ' s jewel on liis retiring from the clniir . The result was unanimous , nnd a Committee was formed to carry ont arrangements . Bra . . AL Spiegel J . W . consented to act as Steward for the next Festival of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution . The Lodge was then closed , and the brethren sat down to slight refreshments . Ho was grateful for his election ; it . was but six years since his initiation , aud his most ardent wish was to

occupy tho chair . He hoped his year of office would be a successful one . Bro . A . G . Dodson I . P . M . proposed the toast of tho W . M ., and spoke of the excellent way in which that brother had performed tho ceremonies , and of the able manner in which ho had presided over them , Tho W . M . thanked Bro . Dodson and the brethren ; ho hoped to continue among them for many years . Bro . Cox , the newly initiated

brother , returned thanks briefly , and tho W . M . announced to tho members that their now brother had given tho sum of £ 1 ls to tho Benevolent Fund . Eoyal Alfred Lodge of Instruction , No . 780 . —Held its weekly meeting on Friday , the 30 th of November , afc the Star and Garter , Kew Bridge . Present—Bros . Walter Goss W . M ., Palling P . M . 144 S . W ., B . Blasby J . W . and Secretary , Dorey S . D ., Costolovv J . D ., Bennett I . G ., J . Chambers Eoo P . M . 780 Preceptor ; Kyezor , Gunner , Metcalf , Pearson , and others . Lodge opened at 8 p . m ., and

minutes were confirmed . The initiation ceremony was rehearsed , Bro . Gunner candidate . The same brother then answered the necessary questions for passing ; he retired , and Lodge opened in second degree . Bro . Peai-son replied to the questions for raising , and retired . Lodge then opened in third degree , and the ceremony of raising was rehearsed , Bro . Kyezor being tho candidate . The W . M . completed the solemn

ceremony with his nsnal care and ability . The Lodge was closed down to the 1 st degree . Bro . Gunner presented to the Lodgo a most beautifully finished dagger , and expressed his grateful thanks for the instruction ho had received . Ifc was proposed by Bro . Goss W . M . and seconded by Bro . Eoe , thafc the Lodge mark its

appreciation of tho gift by making a record of it on the minutes . Proposed by Bro . W . M . and seconded by Bro . Blasby that the Annual Dinner of the Lodge of Instruction bo held at their place of meeting , on Friday , tho 14 th instant , at 6 . 30 p . m . This was carried unanimously . Bro . Blasby will take the chair afc next meeting .

Augustine Lodge , No . 972 . —There was a goodly muster of the brethren of this Lodge , together with many visitors from several Lodges in the Province , on Wednesday , 11 th Nov ., afc the Lodge-room adjoining the Guildhall Hotel , Canterbury ; the occasion being tho installation of the AV . M . elect , Bro . J . Secra S . W ., who has for several years discharged the duties of Hon . Sec . in a very

energetic manner . The Lodge was opened at 3 o clock , and the impressive ceremony of installation was ably performed by Bro . J . Welsh the retiring W . M . ; the duties of Director of Ceremonies being carried out by Bro . Peirce P . M . The W . M . then appointed as his Officers Bros . J . Cozens S . W ., W . H . Vile J . W ., Pilcher P . M . Treas ., Walker P . M . Hon . Sec , E . Beer S . D ., H . Miskin J . D ., P . J . Syree

Pilcher P . M ., as a mark of their esteem , the Lodge was duly closed , and the brethren adjourned to an excellent banquet , served up by the Bros . Shaxby , to which upwards of 50 sat down . Metropolitan Chapter of Improvement . —The weekly Convocation of this Chapter was held on Tuesday last , at the Jamaica Coffee House , Cornhill , E . C , under the following Officers : F . Brown M . E . Z ., AV . E . Gompertz II ., J . B . Sorrell J ., Thomas W . AVhite Scribe E ., F . A . AVhite Scribe N ., J . High P . S . Upon the usual formula being completed , the ceremony of exaltation was rehearsed , Comp .

\ V . Grist acting candidate . A vote of thanks was orucved to be recorded on tho minutes to the three Principals for their efficiency , it being the first occasion of each performing ( heir respective duties as Z ., H . and J . AVe do not remember ever having heard , from such young officers , more perfect working . Comp . F . Brown , in acknowledging the compliment on behalf of himself and his co-Principals , said that he way much pleased with tho recognition of his services :

however diligent lie might have been in learning his duty , it was to Comp . Constable ho was indebted , for tnnfc Comp . had spared neither time nor trouble in endeavouring to perfect him in the Eitnal . There were also present Comps . G . L . Walker , D . Haslett , G . J . Lodge opened at 8 p . m ., and

minutes were confirmed . The initiation ceremony was rehearsed , Bro . Gunner candidate . The same brother then answered the necessary questions for passing ; he retired , and Lodge opened in second degree . Bro . Peai-son replied to the questions for raising , and retired . Lodge then opened in third degree , and the ceremony of raising was rehearsed , Bro . Kyezor being tho candidate . The W . M . completed the solemn

ceremony with his nsnal care and ability . The Lodge was closed down to the 1 st degree . Bro . Gunner presented to the Lodgo a most beautifully finished dagger , and expressed his grateful thanks for the instruction ho had received . Ifc was proposed by Bro . Goss W . M . and seconded by Bro . Eoe , thafc the Lodge mark its

appreciation of tho gift by making a record of it on the minutes . Proposed by Bro . W . M . and seconded by Bro . Blasby that the Annual Dinner of the Lodge of Instruction bo held at their place of meeting , on Friday , tho 14 th instant , at 6 . 30 p . m . This was carried unanimously . Bro . Blasby will take the chair afc next meeting .

Augustine Lodge , No . 972 . —There was a goodly muster of the brethren of this Lodge , together with many visitors from several Lodges in the Province , on Wednesday , 11 th Nov ., afc the Lodge-room adjoining the Guildhall Hotel , Canterbury ; the occasion being tho installation of the AV . M . elect , Bro . J . Secra S . W ., who has for several years discharged the duties of Hon . Sec . in a very

energetic manner . The Lodge was opened at 3 o clock , and the impressive ceremony of installation was ably performed by Bro . J . Welsh the retiring W . A vote of thanks was orucved to be recorded on tho minutes to the three Principals for their efficiency , it being the first occasion of each performing ( heir respective duties as Z ., H . and J . AVe do not remember ever having heard , from such young officers , more perfect working . Comp . F . Brown , in acknowledging the compliment on behalf of himself and his co-Principals , said that he way much pleased with tho recognition of his services :
