Temple Lodge , No . 101 . —At tho meeting of this Lodge , on Tuesday , the 4 th inst ., there were present—Bros . Taylor W . M ., J . H . Thomas S . W ., T . Cos J . W ., W . Georgo S . D ., W . Beard I . G ., Fradd W . S ., Bond Treasurer ; and P . M . ' a AVynne , Scott , Uastelow , F . Cox , Grimbly and Yonle , besides a large muster of brethren . Among the visitors was Signor Campobello , who then entered an
English Lodgo for the first time . Mr . Albert Jones , solicitor , was ballotted for and unanimously elected , as was also Bro . Komano , late of tho AVestbourne Lodge , in which ho was initiated in 1861 , although ho took no further degreo . Mr . Jones was initiated by the W . M ., aud Bro . Komano was passed to tho second degree , both ceremonies being performed iu Bro . Taylor ' s usually efficient and impressive manner .
Afterwards the ballot was taken for tho W . M . for the ensuing year , and it was announced from tho chair , amid general applause , that Bro . J . IT . Thomas S . W . had been unanimously elected . Bro . Bond was re-elected Treasurer , for tho eleventh . Urae , and Bro . Potter was re-elected Tyler . On tho Lodge being closed , tho brethren adjourned to a sumptuous banquet provided by Bro . Painter . Among the toasts given was " Tho health of Bro . Campobello , " who , in response ,
expressed his gratification at tho cordial welcome given him ou the occasion of his first visit to an English Lodge , and announced his intention of commemorating tho event by giving a concert , in conjunction with his wifo ( Madame Sinico ) , during tho month of February , in aid of the Boys' School . This noblo offer was naturally received with vociferous applause . Bro . Campobello favoured the brethren with several songs during the evening , being accompanied on the pianoforte by Bro . Eomano .

The Lodge having been opened and all formalities complied with , the ballot was taken for Mr . John Raymond Piednue ; it proved satisfactory , and that gentleman received Masonio light . There were two candidates for the third degree ; they wore both present , aud duly
advanced . Bros . F . H . Hare and P . J . Heidelberger were passed to tho second degreo . All the ceremonies were performed by tho W . M ., and he acquitted himself most creditably , and created a deep impression on the several candidates . The selection of W . M . for the ensuing year resulted in tho unanimous election of Bro . Alfred Dottridgo , who in graceful terms acknowledged tho compliment paid him
by the brethren . Bro . Hancock P . M . was re-elected Treasurer , and Bro . Speight , by a show of hands , was re-appointed Tyler . Bros . Hilton , Newson and Stedman were appointed Auditors . M . announced that the petition which had been presented to the Board of Benevolence on behalf of tho daughter of a deceased brother had been graciously received , aud he , afc the same time , expressed his thanks to Bro . George King jun ., P . M . of the Hervey Lodge , for the kind way in which he had supported the caso . The second case recommended by the members of the Old Concord Lodge
had also received favourable consideration , and the brethren expressed their satisfaction at the result . It was proposed by Bro . King and seconded by the I . P . M ., that the customary amount be voted from the Lodgo funds to present the retiring AV . M . with a past Master ' s jewel on his leaving the chair . This was carried unanimously , as was also a proposition that a sum of £ 10 be voted for tho Eoyal Masonic Benevolent Institution , tho amount to be placed on the
list of Bro . Georgo Watson , who will represent the Lodge at the next Festival . After this had been acknowledged , the Lodge was closed . Although this was supposed to bo an " oft' night , " a capital banquet was supplied , and tho W . M . presided in a most happy and genial fashion . Pressure on onr space prevents us giving a full report of the speeches ; suffice it to say full honour was done to the customary toasts , and a most pleasant and harmonious evening was spent .
