Lodge of Emulation , No . 1505 . —This Lodge held its regular meeting at the Masonic Temple , Liverpool , on the 23 rd ult . Present—Bros . W . E . Quavle W . M ., H . Morris I . P . M ., J . T . Mr . Wm . Foulkes was elected and initiated into tho order . Thoro were five brethren raised to the dogree of M . M . It is to be regretted that so many brethren should be advanced to the third dogree in a room which is obviously too small for such an eveut Tho manner in which these brethreu were raised savoured considerably of rush and business , and our snblimo ritual will and must fall short of its object under

snch disadvantages . The brethren were invited to refreshment by Bro . Qnayle , and on the the removal of the cloth the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts Avero proposed and heartily drunk . During the interval between the toasts Bros . Chapman , Reiiy , Childs , McGauly Worthy , Foulkes , Leah , favoured tho brothron with some good music . The evening ' s pleasures wero bought to a close with tho Tyler ' s toast .

Tho Board of Installing Masters Avas then opened , and in a most impressive manner tho new Master was

placed in the chair of K . S . The brethreu being re-admitted , were informed that during their absence , their new Master had been regularly installed , aud they were requested to salute him . Tho charge Avas then given , and tho tools of the degree presented .
