Proposed Temple For Southend.

PROPOSED TEMPLE FOR SOUTHEND

riHHE prospectus has been issued of the scheme which has X been initiated by the Freemasons of Southend and district to provide a Masonic Temple there . Members of the Craft have acquired a valuable property in one of the best situations in the borough , which they intend to transform

into a Masonic Hall , and to establish there a Masonic Club House for the use of the Brethren . Freemasonry in Southend and the surrounding towns has of late years grown in an amazing manner . It is anticipated that a Club House , conveniently situated and properly equipped , will be largely

taken advantage of ; and , moreover , be a considerable source of profit-Std "" -the promoters . Plans have been prepared by Bro . W . Y . Hobbiss , and promises of substantial support have already been given by numerous Brethren . The capital has been fixed' at £ 6 , 000 , divided into £ 1 shares , and

applications are invited between the 12 th and 19 th April . Shares / it must be borne in mind , can only be held by Freemasons .
