RANELAGH LODGE , No . 834 . A MEETING- was held on Good Friday , 31 st ult ., at the Six Bells Hotel , Hammersmith , under the presidency of Bro . P . Craggs P . M ., with Bros . 3 . Worth S . W ., K . M . Boss J . W ., A . Williams P . M . Prec , 3 . H . Gumming P . M . acting Sec , M . F . Wilkins S . D ., H . 3 . Cousens J . D ., R . H . Williams P . P . G . J . D . Middx . D . C , G . Lodge was opened in the third degree , and Bro . Worth was placed in the chair . Lodge was resumed to the first degree , the W-M . was saluted , and then invested the Officers . The addresses were given by Bro . Craggs P . M ., in a perfect manner . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . R . H . Williams acting as candidate . Bro . Ross was unanimously elected W . M . for the Friday fortnight .

EARL OF LATHOM LODGE , No . 1922 . ON Wednesday , at Bro . Charles Sisman ' s , the Station Hotel , Camberwell New Road , S . E ., Bros . H . Cornford W . M ., J . Ware Sec . of the Lodge S . W ., West J . W ., 0 . Plant P . M . Prec , Hill Treas ., Morris S . D ., L . Shipton J . D ., W . Hurley I . G ., Greaves , Legg , Smith , Side , White P . M ., Trotter , Cash P . M ., Wedge , Faull , Wynman .

After the usual formalities Bro . Trotter , with the assistance of the Brethren , worked the first section , and the W . M . the second section , after which the ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Smith being the candidate . This being ended , the W . M . worked the fourth section of the lecture . Bro . Ware , who is the S . W . of the Mother Lodge , will preside on Wednesday next .

Bro . Plant most sincerely thanked the Brethren for their great kindness in having sent him such an impressive letter during his severe illness , and he hoped the G . A . O . T . U . would grant him health and strength to be amongst them for many years to come .

The Worshipful Master first rehearsed the ceremony of initiation , with Brother P . Carmichael acting as the candidate . This ceremony being ended , the Lodge was called off . On resuming , the W . M . announced his intention of rehearsing the second ceremony , for which Bro . E . Vernon

offered himself as a candidate . He having answered the usual questions was entrusted ; the Lodge was opened in the second degree , and the ceremony of passing was rehearsed . This and the former ceremony were perfectly rendered . The W . M . said he had great pleasure in introducing Bro . George Davis P . M . Preceptor of the Earl of Carnarvon Lodge of Instruction , and on the Lodge being resumed in the first degree that Brother , with the assistance of the Brethren , worked the first section of the lecture , whioh was highly appreciated .

Bro . H .: J . Cousens W . M . 172 was unanimously elected a member , and Bro . Thompson W . M . for Tuesday , the 18 th inst ., next Tuesday being Officers night . : ; ; Bro . Flack Deputy Preceptor proposed that a letter of sincere congratulation be sent to Bro . R . H . Williams , Preceptor of the Lodge , on the very happy deliverance of his two daughters , who were rescued from the wreck of the Stella , after having suffered 15 hours on the sea in a small boat . We add our hearty congratulations to Bro . Williams and his two daughters , and trust they will be spared from another such terrible experience .

EGERTON LODGE , No . 1030 . THE regular meeting was held at the George Hotel , Heaton Norris , on Monday , 20 th ult . There was a good attendance of members and visitors , principal among the latter being Bros . 0 . D . Cheetham P . M . 993 P . P . G . W ., S . E . Greaves S . W . 944 , and R . Dougill I . G . 152 .

In the absence of the Worshipful Master , the principal chair was taken hy Bro . E . Broome I . P . M ., who raised Bro . Harold Holkar Broome and Aubrey Francis Seed to the sublime degree of M . M ., assisted by Bro . J . B . Oldham J . W ., who presented and explained the working tools to the candidates . Special mention should be made of the excellent Deaconing of Bro . Herbert R . Greaves . The usual festive board followed .

a : DE WARREN LODGE , No . 1302 . ON' Thursday evening , 30 th ult ., a complimentary banquet was given at the White Swan Hotel , Halifax , by the Officers and Brethren of the Lodge to Bro . Seed and Bro . Asquith . After dinner a social evening was spent ., ' ¦¦ ••¦ ¦ - '* Bro . G . Normanton W . M . presented to Bro . Seed a casket and scroll

from the Officers and Brethren of the : Lodge , and said they were proud to show in some small Way their appreciation of Bro . Seed's efforts , 'during a period of' 30 years , to make the De Warren Lodge a success , during which time he had held the office of Treasurer for many years , and he was now its Secretary . Any society would feel proud of such a strong and constant supporter : *

Bro . Asquith was not able to be present , on account of an attack of influenza , and Bro . Normanton asked Bro . Farrar to accept a casket and scroll on his behalf , expressing the hope that he might long be spared to them , and stating that he was ever to the front in deeds of charity , and a willing supporter of any movement for the benefit of Masonry . Bros . Butterworth , Alderson , and Bailey also added a few words of appreciation .

Bro . Seed , in accepting the gift , stated thai his father , who attained the dignity of Prov ; Grand Sword Bearer , was instrumental in bringing from Thornton to Halifax the Loyal Ancient St . James Lodge , No . 606 , which was now known as St . James Lodge , No . 448 . He himself was initiated in St . James Lodge , on 7 th February 1865 , at the Talbot Hotel . Bro . William Farrar was W .
