The Elections Next Week.

THE ELECTIONS NEXT WEEK .

* T * HR half-yearly elections of the two Educational * Institutions will take place on Thursday and Friday of next week , that in connection with the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls taking place on the Thursday , and that for the Boys on the Friday . In the

former case sixteen children are to be elected , from a list of thirty-six approved candidates ; in the latter twenty-three are to be admitted from the list of thirtyseven applicants .

There is nothing of importance beyond the election to require the attention of supporters of the Girls School , but one or two special items are set down on the agenda for the Boys meeting . A notice of

motion has been given as to an alteration in Law 30 , so as to limit Lodge representatives to actual subscribing members for purposes of voting , and this will no doubt be agreed to .

The Board of Management of the Institution will make a statement as to the progress made , in the development of the Bushey site for the new School ,

and some interesting and gratifying announcements may be looked for in connection with this great undertaking , now rapidly taking a tangible shape .

The Next Grand Treasurer.

THE NEXT GRAND TREASURER

John Glass , supported by Bro . J . Percy Fitzgerald the energetic Hon . Secretary .

The meeting was not only well attended , but was most enthusiastic , continued confidence in the candidate , and wishes for his success at the next poll being the order of the

evening . Among those who were present were Bros . W . M . Stiles P . G . Treasurer ( our heartiest greetings on his restoration to health ) , J . J . Thomas , Hobbs , Bryce , Thwaites , Whyman , Lamigeon , & c ., & c .

We are asked to make special reference to the case of Mrs . Martha Dale , aged 61 years , a candidate for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution . Mrs . Dale is the widow of the late Brother James George Dale P . M . 16 9 and "P . Z . 169 , who was a Life Subscriber to the whole of the Masonic

Institutions , and served as Steward to the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls in 18 94 , also in a similar capacity to the Boys Institution in 18 95 . He was initiated in the Lodge of Temperance , No . 16 9 , in 1875 , and continued a subscribing member until his death in 18 9 6 . He was formerly employed

in H . M . Customs , and at the time of his death was in receipt of a pension , which terminated at his decease , leaving the widow inadequately provided for . The case is strongly recommended , and proxies will be thankfully received by the widow , at 131 Windmill Street , Gravesend .

In aid of the funds of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution a Cinderella dance took place on Friday , 24 th ult ., in the King ' s Hall of the Holborn Restaurant . The company , numbering over 600 , included many members of the Craft , full Craft and Royal Arch clothing being worn .

Dancing , to the strains of Mr . F . R . Pritchard ' s band , commenced shortly after seven , and was continued until two o ' clock the following morning . An excellent programme was provided . The arrangements were undertaken by Bro . H . Kemp , who has now for many years past organised a similar gathering in the cause of Charity .

I mentioned a little time ago that within the National Liberal Club are many sections or circles , and it is just proposed to add another to their number , which is of a very interesting character . Of course , in a club of this kind and

size , there must be many Freemasons , and an attempt is being made to effect an extra bond between these Brethren by enrolling them all as members of a circle which shall bear the honoured name of Gladstone . The N . L . C . Gladstone Masonic Circle will almost assuredly be a great success . — " Nottingham Daily Express . "

The annual supper of the Whittington Lodge of Instruction , No . 862 , was held on the 29 th ult ., at the Old Red Lion , Poppin's Court , Fleet Street , when Bro . Percy Day , the host , put an excellent repast upon the table . There were about forty members present , under the presidency of Bro . W . C . Tyler , who was supported by Bro . Kemp .
