I . P . M . The I . P . M . having briefly returned thanks , the Master submitted the proposition of the Initiates , assuring them not only of a welcome , but that the higher offices of Freemasonry were opon to all who devoted attention and study to the science .

Bros . Bartlett , Whiston , Offord and Watkins having briefly replied , the Master gave the toast of the Visitors , to whom he expressed thanks for their company , which was highly appreciated always by the Brethren of the Lodge . Replies were given by Bros . Wilson , Mackintosh and Watkins .

In proposing the Treasurer and Secretary the Master read a letter from Bro . Treasurer giving fraternal good wishes to the Lodge , and the hope that his health would soon permit him to rejoin their assemblies . After a humorous reply from Bro . Haswell Secretary , the Master proposed the Past Masters , to whom he extended thanks for their continued interest . Bro . Coleman , on behalf of his colleagues and himself , expressed obligations for the courteous language and reception of the proposition .

To the toast of the Officers , Bro . Veare J . W . gave assurance of devotion to the Lodge and loyalty to the Master . Bro . P . M . Murray , in an interesting speech of some detail , alluded to the importance of the three Institutions , and advanced a hope that the Prudent Brethren Lodge would be found enrolled among the good supporters of tham . The Tyler's toast closed the proceedings , which were business-like and cordial throughout .

Full credit is due to W . M . Bro . Gerlach , says the " Holborn Guardian , " for his excellent working in all the ceremonies , and for his complete readiness in all of them , a tribute which will be the more easily appreciated beyond the Lodge , as it was within the Lodge , when it is remembered that there were all of the three ceremonies to work , and that the whole , including routine and other business , was accomplished in two and-a-half hours .

There was an excellent musical programme , accompanied by Bro . A . Wilson , the accomplished vocalist and Organist of the Lodge , and in which Bros . Hampton , Gabe , Taylor , Barrell and Kinnard took part .

ASAPH LODGE , No . 1319 . THE twenty-seventh installation meeting of this Lodge was held at Freemasons' Hall , on Monday , 2 nd inst . The Lodge was established in 1870 for the convenience of members of the musical and dramatic professions . Bro . C . C . Cruikshanks was the Master for 1895-96 , and he presided on Monday at the opening business of the Lodge ; but as Bro . F . H . Maeklin , the Master for 1894-95 , was in America last November with Bro . Henry Irving's company , and consequently was not able to instal Bro . Cruikshanks , the latter Brother ceded to him the installation of Bro . George Johnson , an old and well-known member of the Lyceum company , as Master of the Lodge for the ensuing twelve months .

Bro . Cruikshanks was presented with a valuable Past Master s jewel . The Brethren , after the appointment of the new Officers , dined at Freemasons' Tavern , says the " Daily Chronicle , " and enjoyed a splendid selection of music between the speeches .

At the banquet , the Master Bro . Dr . W . J . Hunter P . M . presided , and afterwards briefly proposed the toasts which always have precedence of the Masonic list , and these having been fully honoured , the I . P . M ., in felicitous and "hopeful terms , that will be well understood , proposed the Lodge's wish for " Good health to the W . M . " who , for reasons that will also be well understood , very briefly replied .
