MARK GRAND LODGE .

THE Winter Half-Yearly Communication of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of England and Wales and the Colonies and Dependencies of the British Crown was held at Freemasons' Tavern , on Tuesday , the 2 nd instant . The throne was occupied by the Earl of Kintore

M . W . G . M . M . M ., and there was a large gathering of the members of Grand Lodge and the subordinate Lodges . The minutes of the Summer Half-Yearl y and Movable Communications having bee : i read and confirmed , the Earl of Kintore announced that in consequence of certain action

he had taken in the Supreme Grand Chapter , Scotland , steps were on the eve of being taken which would bring that body into friendly communication with the Mark Grand Lodge , and that there might shortly be expected an interchange of representatives between the two Supreme

bodies . Lord Egerton of Tatton having been obligated , invested , and installed as D . G . Master , and having briefl y acknowledged the honour , the Report of the General Board was submitted and accepted . From this we learn that the total number of registered advancements to date is 19 , 387 ,

and that since June last Warrants have been granted for eig lit new Lodges , making the total now on the roll 345 . Tho total of elevations to the degree of Royal Ark Mariner is 1670 , and Warrants for two new Lodges have been granted during the half year . It was also stated that the

last Mark Benevolent Fund Festival yielded £ 832 , and that great progress had been made in connection with the Educational Branch of the Fund , there being now twelve Boys and five Girls being educated . The subject of the difference with the Quebec Grand Chapter was as a matter of course mentioned , while as regards the " Dcwar Benefit
