Mordecai on the death of their beloved father , who was a well-known Brother in the Craft . After tho closing of the Lodge Bro . D . Moss P . M . Preceptor , who gave a most interesting account of the many visits he had made to several Country Lodges during the extended tour he is making for the benefit of his health , and spoke of the extremely cordial manner in which he was received .

A meeting of the Charity Association attached to the Lodge was afterwards held , two ballots for five guineas each being drawn for , with the result that Bros . W . G . Coxen and A . Schomberg were declared to be successful .

After some little consideration it was decided to have the usual summer picnic , the same to take place on Monday , 19 th June . Bakewell is the place selected , with a drive to Haddon Hall , Rowsley , Chatsworth , Darley Dale , and Matlock ; and given a fine day , a very great treat is in store for the members and their friends .

At the festive board which followed , Loyal and Masonic toasts were varied by songs , recitations , & c , rendered by Bros . E . A . Smith I . P . M ., S . H . Stubbs J . W ., F . Todd S . occasion being his retirement from the firm of Faudel , Phillips and Son , Newgate Street , after fourteen years faithful service . The testimonial was handed over by 0 . W . Bedwell , Esq ., with an eloquent speech . Bro . Day acknowledged the handsome present in fitting terms .

A meeting of the Charity Association attached to the Lodge was afterwards held , two ballots for five guineas each being drawn for , with the result that Bros . W . G . Coxen and A . Schomberg were declared to be successful .

C ., the ceremony of initiation and also that of passing were rehearsed to a very good audience . In the first instance the candidate was Bro . Jas . B . The next meeting will ba held on Thursday , llth inst .

MINNEHAHA MINSTREL LODGE , No . 2363 . rriHE regular meeting was held at the Victoria Hotel , Manchester , on X Monday , 24 th ult ., Bro . Thomas Hamnett W . M . After the confirmation of minutes , Bro . F . W . Wollaston P . M . P . P . G . A . D . C . Chaplain read one of the ancient charges , this being followed by the traditional history and explanation of the third degree tracing board , by Bro . Seth Wrigley P . M . P . P . G . J . D . Director of Ceremonies .

After some little consideration it was decided to have the usual summer picnic , the same to take place on Monday , 19 th June . Bakewell is the place selected , with a drive to Haddon Hall , Rowsley , Chatsworth , Darley Dale , and Matlock ; and given a fine day , a very great treat is in store for the members and their friends .

At the festive board which followed , Loyal and Masonic toasts were varied by songs , recitations , & c , rendered by Bros . E . A . Smith I . P . M ., S . H . Stubbs J . W ., F . Todd S . D ., i ~ Ved Hilton P . M . P . P . G . D . C , G . R . Ward , J . C . Woolstono , and Edwd . Roberts P . M . 1459 .

ON Thursday , 25 th ult ., at Bro . Charles Riemaon ' s , the Spaten Restaurant , 33 Newgate Street , E . C , a distinguished company assembled to present Bro . J . H . Day with a handsome massive gold watch , the

occasion being his retirement from the firm of Faudel , Phillips and Son , Newgate Street , after fourteen years faithful service . The testimonial was handed over by 0 . W . Bedwell , Esq ., with an eloquent speech . Bro . Day acknowledged the handsome present in fitting terms .
