MASONIC IMPOSTORS . To the Editor of THE FREEMASON ' S CHRONICLE . DEAR SIR AND BROTHER , —As a sufferer and a victim to Masonic Impostors I am delighted that you expose two cases in your issue of this date .
I should esteem it a great favour if you will make it known that I emphatically disown all connection with an impostor who is going about obtaining money from Lodges , and individuals , on the strength of using my name , which happens to be fairly well known , especially among London Lodges .
This man represents that he hails from a Lodge in Minneapolis , has been shipwrecked , and is an Engineer . Worst of all , after having fleeced not only myself but many of my Masonic friends
also , I now find that he is representing himself as being related to me , which is the greatest and most annoying imposture he has adopted . By giving publicity to this , with a view of thwarting such nefarious procedure you would confer a lasting favour on
Yours fraternally , A . DARCH . P . M . and Sec . 72 , P . M . 1986 , P . Z . 72 , Preceptor 2184 . 112 Westminster Bridge Road , S . E ., 16 th March igoi .
We may take this opportunity of mentioning that Bro . Cyril H . Beever P . M . Prov . G . Reg . W . M . who is a prominent member of the Minnehaha Minstrel Lodge , and who , as his title indicates , is
also connected with West Lancashire , has recently had bestowed upon him Royal Arch honours in the latter Province . He has been appointed Provincial Grand J ., and we very heartily and sincerely congratulate him upon his well-deserved success .
Jan Ten-Kate , whose pictures are attracting much attention in London just now , is the son of one of the greatest poets of Holland . The poetic instinct has developed in the son , and his pictures give the clue to his imaginative powers . For fifteen years he has been engaged on a series of pictures depicting Humanity , and they are striking examples of bold and . effective work .
