At the conclusion of the work the Preceptor desired to make a proposition which he hoped would be unanimously received . It was that a'hearty vote of thanks be accorded to Bro . Cleghorn ,
congratulating him on the way m which he had worked the Sections . This was agreed to and Bro . Cleghorn thanked the Brethren for their cordial recognition . It was some 15 or 16 years since he had last worked the sections .
Bros . Charles Staples and J . Duffy were elected members , and Bro . J . Cohn appointed to the chair for to-morrow week , 14 th inst .
Confidence Lodge , No . 193 . AT the meeting on Wednesday , 20 th ult ., Bro . Hattersley , a very promising and energetic young Mason , occupied the Worshipful Master ' s chair , and rehearsed the first ceremony with very little assistance from the Preceptor . The remaining Officers were Bros .
Bushell S . W ., Chittock J . W ., Goodchild S . D ., Bygrave J . D ., Done I . G ., Lough acting Secretary , Stenner P . M . 861 acting Preceptor . After Lodge had been opened in the second degree Bro . Baillie took the chair , and in a perfect manner rehearsed the second ceremony and gave a splendid rendering of the tracing board . The candidates were Bros . Rowland and Scoones .
AT the meeting on the 27 th , the workings were somewhat varied . Bro . Stenner , who filled the chair , is about to initiate his son into Freemasonry in the Finsbur . y Lodge , and very naturally did his level best in rehearsing the first degree . He is a Past Master of
many years standing , but time has not obliterated from his memory the beautiful ritual , and as a further proof of his ability he opened and closed the Lodge in each of the three degrees , resuming as occasion required . ¦

It was regarded as possible that some of the sections would be worked at the next meeting , a young Mason of great ability occupying the chair .
