With tho assistance of his Officers he felt the Lodge would be sure to prosper . Ah excellent programme of music was provided under the direction of Bro . Charles Joy , who was most ably assisted by Miss Maggie Purvis , Madame Alice Sampson , Mr . Henry Marriott , Mr . Ambrose Thorne , and others .

Bro . Charles Morrison , the present Master of the Kilburn Lodge , was born on 29 th August 1863 , at Crathie , Aberdeenshire , and was initiated into Freemasonry , in the Lodge over which he now presides , in October 1891 , so that his promotion has been rapid . We wish him every success in the management of his Lodgo , and trust it may enjoy a prosperous future .

PENCE LODGE , No . 1815 . ON Wednesday , 27 th ult ., the members held a Cinderella at the Clarence Hall , Anerley Road . The hall , which has just recently been enlarged and thoroughly renovated , presented a picturesque appearance . The floral decorations on the stage were tastefully arranged , and suspended from the roof were baskets of evergreens and flowers . The company commenced to arrive at 7 o'clock , the members of the Craft appearing in Masonic clothing , and when dancing commenced at 7-30 there was a brilliant scene . Dancing was kept up until 12-30 . .

WESTBOURNE LODGE , No . 733 . A VERY large meeting of this flourishing Lodge was held at Bro . Jones ' s , the Oliver Arms , Westbourne Terrace North , Harrow Road , W ., on Tuesday . The Lodge being opened Bro . Meek answered the questions leading to the second degree and afterwards retired . The Lodge was advanced and the ceremony of passing was rehearsed , Bro . W . Roberts acting as candidate . The Lodge was called off and on . The W . M . resumed his chair and Bro . Roberts was examined and entrusted , the ceremony ' of raising being rehearsed in his favour .

The W . M . kindly vacated the chair in favour of Bro . Roberts , who rehearsed the ceremony of installation . Bro . R . J . Rogers P . M . was presented by Bro . H . Dehane as W . M .-elect , and was duly installed , after which the Brethren saluted the W . M . The working of the W . M . Bro . J . L . Miller S . W . of the Bloomsbnry Rifles Lodge was highly appreciated by all present . Bro . Mead was elected a member , and Bro . George Weaver W . M . for next Tuesday .

BROMLEY ST . LEONARD LODGE , No . 1805 . AT the Bow Bells , Bow Road , E ., on Wednesday , 3 rd inst ., Bro . G . H . Fennell W . M ., J . Goulston S . W ., Lewsey J . W ., W . Bettinson S . D ., Crabb J . D ., Mitchell I . G ., DeCasseres P . M . Preceptor , F . Thornton Sec , Holmes , Cuthbertson , Green , Bird , Joss , Tyler , Creswell , Boyce P . M ., and Panting .

The W . M . rehearsed the ceremony of Initiation , Bro . Holmes acting as candidate . The Brethren assisted Bro . Goulston to work the first , second and third sections of the lecture . Bro . Cuthbertson answered the questions leading to the second degree . The Lodge was opened up , and Bro . Creswell answered the questions leading to the third degree . Bro . Cuthbertson was elected a member , and Bro . Goulston was appointed to the chair for Wednesday next .

EAST MEDINA LODGE , No . 175 . ON the 21 st ult . there was a large assemblage of members and visiting Brethren , at the Masonic Hall , Ryde , when the retiring W . M . Bro . Capt . 0 . Sweetwan ably conducted a full agenda of business and impressively installed Bro . C . Langdon as his successor in the chair . A Past Master's jewel was presented to Bro . Sweetwan , in recognition of his efficient services in the chair during the past year .

Great interest in Masonic circles attaches to another presentation which was also made during the evening , viz ., to Bro . Francis Newman , on the occasion of his appointment by H . R . H . the Prince of Wales as an Officer of

the Grand Lodge of England . The presentation was on behalf of the East Medina , the Ryde , and the Chine Lodges , of each of which Bro . Newman is a member , and consisted of a jewel appropriate to the office of Grand Standard Bearer , and a handsome piece of silver plate .

ANCIENT UNION LODGE , No . 203 . ON Thursday , 21 st ult ., Bro . David Nicholson was installed as W . M . at a successful gathering of members and visitors at the Masonic Hall , Hope Street , Liverpool , the attendance numbering about ninety Brethren . Bro . John Craig I . P . M . very ably performed the installation ceremony , and was presented with a handsome Past Master ' s jewel in recognition of his services to the Lodge .

ROYAL FAITH AND FRIENDSHIP LODGE , No . 270 . THE annual installation festival was held at the Berkeley x \ rms Hotel , Berkeley , on Tuesday , 19 th ult ., when there was a numerous gathering of Brethren . The retiring Master of the Lodge was Bro . J . Owner P . G . S B ., and his successor Bro . H . Hodder S . W . Tho ceremony of installation was

impressively performed by Bros . J . Gamble . Bro . R . V . Vassar-Smith P . G . D . Deputy Provincial Grand Master of Gloucestershire , and Bro . Owner also took part in the ceremony .

ST . JOHN LODGE , No . 328 . THE annual festival was held on Monday , 1 st inst ., at the Bath Saloons , Torquay , when Bro . Arthur Westley S . W . was installed W . M . for the ensuing year . The ceremony was ably performed by Bro . J . Grant P . P . G . D ., Bro . E . Richards impressively delivering the address .

PEACE AND HARMONY LODGE , No . 359 . THE Brothren celebrated the Festival of St . John , at the Masonio Hall , Albion-place , Southampton , on Monday , 18 th ult ., when Bro . T . E . Smith S . W . was installed in the chair of the Lodge by Bro . Long , the outgoing Master , the ceremony being admirably worked throughout . There was a very large attendance .

At the conclusion of the ceremony Bro Long was warmly thanked for his services as Installing Master , and a formal vote of thanks was accorded to him for the way in which he had filled the chair during the past year , the Lodge at the same time voting him a Past Master's jewel . The installation banquet , supplied by Bro . Biggs , was admirably served

under , the superintendence of Bro . Cross , and was partaken of by nearly ninety brethren . The newly-installed W . M . presided . The usual round of Loyal and Masonic toasts was gone through , the D . P . G . M ., as a member of the Board of Management of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys , taking occasion in his speech to warmly defend the action of the Board in the

proposed removal of the School from Wood Green to Bushey , one result of the removal being , he said , that the Institution would be able to educate 400 boys instead of 279 as now , and in a few years the number would probably be raised to 500 . The health of the W . M . was cordially drunk , and hearty good wishes were tendered him on all hands for a happy and prosperous year of office .

SYMPATHY LODGE OF INSTRUCTION , No . 483 . ON the 1 st inst ., at the Star Hotel , Parrock Street , Gravesend , Bro . Alfred J . Walklin W . M ., Charles Lane S . W ., Harry White J . W ., R . J . Beamish P . M . P . P . D . C Acting Preceptor , Ernest Ingman Secretary , Spencer Bowers I . G ., F . Pettingale , T . A . Mummery , 0 . F . Lavis , I . N . Willis , Geo . Martin Tyler . Bro . Walklin rehearsed the ceremony of initiation , with the assistance of the above mentioned Officers , Bro . Pettingale being the candidate . The Lodge was then opened in the second degree and Bro . Lavis , having answered the usual questions , was passed to the degree of a Fellow Craft . ' Both these ceremonies were very creditably performed by Bro . Walklin , and fully deserved the vote of thanks accorded by the Brethren .

FAITH LODGE , No . 581 . THE regular meeting was held at the Gransmoor Hotel , Fairfield , Manchester , on Wednesday , 20 th ult ., Bro . William Jones W . M . The principal business of the evening was that of initiating Mr . Matthew Goth

and Mr . Robert Hartley Beard , both of West Gorton , Manchester , two gentlemen whose names had been successfully submitted to the ballot . The W . M . performed both ceremonies , being afterwards very highly complimented for his successful first attempts .

COTTESWOLD LODGE , No . 592 . THE annual festival was held at the King's Head Hotel , Cirencester , on Wednesday , 20 th ult ., when Bro . H . F . Sare was installed W . M . by the retiring Master Bro . A . H . Gibbons . The usual banquet followed .

BOSCAWEN LODGE , No . 699 . THE members celebrated the annual festival of St . John on Monday , 18 th ult ., when Bro . John Davey S . W . was impressively installed W . M . by Bro . R . A . F . Frizell P . P . J . G . W . The following sums wero voted : — Boscawen [ Charity Association , £ 3 3 s ; Cornwall Charity Association , £ 2 2 s ; Cornwall Annuity and Benevolent Fund , £ 3 ; Royal Masonic Institution for Aged Masons , £ 2 2 s .

The Brethren adjourned to tho Banquet Hall , where an excellent banquet was served by Mr . Upstone , of the Britannia Hotel , and a most enjoyable evening was spent . Mr . Edgar Richard Organist presided at the piano , and songs and recitations were given by Bros . Kistler , Kinsman , Mills , Clarke , and several others .

REPOSE LODGE , No . 802 . THE annual gathering took place in the Masonic Hall , Derby , on Thursday , 28 th ult ., there being a large attendance of members and friends . The W . M .-elect was Bro . W . S . Gilman S . W .. a well-known Derby

journalist , and the ceremony of installation was performed by Bro . W . J . Piper P . M . P . P . G . T ., assisted by Bro . Dr . Rowan the retiring Master . During the proceedings the latter was presented with a Past Master's jewel , in recognition of his services to the Lodge for the past twelve months .

Subsequently the annual banquet was held in the lower room , and proved most successful . The repast was served in excellent style , under the supervision of Bro . Drinkwater . The tables were charmingly decorated with

flowers , the menu was an excellent oue , and in the course of the speeches touching reference was made to the death of the late Bros . Raymond and Harry Slater . A large number of tho Past Masters of the Lodge were present .

REPOSE LODGE , No . 802 . THE annual gathering took place in the Masonic Hall , Derby , on Thursday , 28 th ult ., there being a large attendance of members and friends . The W . M .-elect was Bro . W . S . Gilman S . W .. a well-known Derby

journalist , and the ceremony of installation was performed by Bro . W . J . Piper P . M . P . P . G . T ., assisted by Bro . Dr . Rowan the retiring Master . During the proceedings the latter was presented with a Past Master's jewel , in recognition of his services to the Lodge for the past twelve months .

Subsequently the annual banquet was held in the lower room , and proved most successful . The repast was served in excellent style , under the supervision of Bro . Drinkwater . The tables were charmingly decorated with

flowers , the menu was an excellent oue , and in the course of the speeches touching reference was made to the death of the late Bros . Raymond and Harry Slater . A large number of tho Past Masters of the Lodge were present .
