CABBELL LODGE , No . 807 . ON Thursday , 28 th ult ., the installation meeting was held at Norwich . A very numerous body of well-known Masons met for the occasion , among the company being the D . P . G . M . Bro . Hamon le Strange . The ceremony of installing Bro . C . E . Todd as W . M . was performed by the outgoing Master Bro . E . Austen , and the charges were very effectively given by Bro . A . Berry .
At the banquet which was afterwards held Bi-o . Hamon le Strange proposed the health of the W . M . of the Cabbell Lodge , which was received with enthusiasm ; and Bro . Todd suitably acknowledged the compliment . The health of the retiring Master was also heartily pledged , at the instance of Bro . Todd , who presented Bro . Austin with a Past Master's jewel subscribed for by the members .
SINCERITY LODGE , No . 943 . ON Tuesday , 26 th ult ., a large company assembled at the Masonic Rooms , St . Giles ' s , Norwich , to witness the installation of Bro . T . J . M . Palmer as W . M . The ceremony was admirably performed by the retiring Master Bro . C B . Cross , and the charges were delivered by Bro . J . B . Bridgman . A banquet was subsequently held , and a truly enjoyable evening was spent .

ST . CECILIA LODGE , No . 1636 . THE annual installation meeting was held at the Royal Pavilion , Brighton , on Tuesday , 26 th ult ., under the presidency of the W M ' Bro . Colonel H . Tester P . P . G . W .
The chief business of the meeting was the installation of Bro . Alfred Up ton as W . M . for the ensuing year , the ceremony being impressively performed by Colonel Tester , who was presented with a Past Master ' s gold jewel , in appreciation of the able manner in which he had carried out his duties during the past year .
The Lodge having been duly closed , the Brethren adjourned to the banqueting room , where thoy sat down to au elegant banquet . Bro . Colonel H . Tester gave the toast of the Worshi pful Master . Bro . Upton , be said , had been a resident in the town for many years , and was highly respected by the medical profession and also by the inhabitants
generally . In 1888 he joined the St . Cecilia Lodge , and had occupied nearly every office in it . He believed Bro . Upton fully appreciated the honour which had been conferred upon him and , as W . M ., would do his utmost to maintain the prestige of the Lodge . He assured him that he would receive the most thorough and loyal support of the Brethren , so that at the year ' s
end he might be heartily congratulated upon having added to the happiness and prosperity of the Lodge . The W . M ., on rising to respond , was greeted with enthusiasm . Thanking the Brothren for the cordial manner in which they had received the toast so kindly proposed by Colonel Tester , he said he would do his best
to carry out the duties of his office , but he was sensible of tbe fact that he had no ordinary task in reaching thc high standard attained by Bro . Tester . Ha was gratified to realise that all the Past Masters , Officers , and Brethren were anxious to give him their hearty support , and would spare no pains to make his year of office a happy and prosperous one .
ROYAL CLARENCE LODGE , No . 1823 . THE installation meeting took place at the Masonic Hall , Clare , on Tuesday , 12 th ult ., when Brother the Eev . J . Manners Smith S . W .

P . P . G . Chap . was regularly installed by Bro . Rev . B . B . Syer P . M . of the Lodge . ' Tho W . M . afterwards presented to his predecessor a handsome Past Master ' s jewel , provided by the subscriptions of the Brethren , and invested his Officers .
The Brethren subsequently sat down to a banquet at the Half Moon Hotel , under the presidency of the W . M ., and the evening was passed in harmony and good fellowship , the customary Loyal and Masonic toasts being honoured .
CASTLEBERG LODGE , No . 2091 . ON Thursday , 14 th ult ., the Brethren assembled to witness the installation of Bro . H . B . Shepherd as W . M . for the ensuing year . Representatives from Manchester , Keighley , Otley , Kirkby Lonsdale , Skipton , Clitheroe , and Slaidburn Lodges were present as visitors . The ceremony was performed by Bros . Bruce I . P . M ., Waugh , T . Brayshaw , and . J . L . Brayshaw . The Treasurer ' s report showed the Lodge to be in a good financial position .
Subsequently the Brethren assembled at a banquet to celebrate the festival of St . John .
MISTLEY LODGE , No . 2339 . THE installation festival was held at the White Hart Hotel , Manningtree , on the 19 th ult ., when Bro . Off wood Bendall was installed Worshipful Master for the ensuing year by Bro . Geo . T . Taylor . The installation banquet was subsequently held , and at the conclusion of the repast the toasts were honoured .
Bro . Railing , replying to that of tho Provincial Officers , mentioned that £ 70 , 000 was subscribed in charities during the past year , notwithstanding the hard times , and of this amount the Province of Essex had contributed a very substantial sum .
The health of the W . M . was given in felicitous terms b y the I . P . M . Bro . Taylor , who said the election of Bro . Bendall for the chair was another landmark in the history of the Mistley Lodge . He trusted that during his year of office the W . M . would have plenty of work . He congratulated the Master on the large attendance .
The Worshipful Master , in . response , thanked the Brethren for the honour they had conferred upon him in placing him in the chair of K . S . He felt great responsibility in the obligations which devolved upon him , and assured the Brethren that he would do the utmost in his power to make the Mistley Lodge even more prosperous in the future , if possible , than in the past .
HEDWORTH LODGE , No . 2418 . ON Thursday , 28 th ult ., the annual meeting was held for the installation of the W . M . for the ensuing year and the investiture of Officers , at the Freemasons' Hall , Ingham Street , South Shields . Bro . R . W . Graham W . M . presided , ancl there was a large gathering of members and visiting Brethren . Bro . James B . Nelson was presented for installation by Bro . W . E . Moffett D . C , and the ceremony was carried out in an able and impressive manner , Bro . R . W . Graham officiating as Installing Master .
The musical portion of the ceremony was rendered in a very efficient manner by the South Shields Masonic Choir , under the direction of Bro . Winstone Organist . The W . M ., on behalf of the members of the Lodge , presented to Bro . R . W . Graham a handsome Past Master ' s jewel , in recognition of his services to the Lodge , and as a mark of esteem . The Lodge was then closed n due form .
Subsequently the annual banquet took place in the Victoria Assembly Rooms , Fowler Street , when there was a large attendance . Afterwards the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured , songs and glees being rendered by the members of the Masonic Choir .
DUKE OF YORK LODGE , No . 2449 . THE regular meeting took place at the Palatine Hotel , Manchester , on Thursday , 14 th ult ., Bro . T . T . Hardicker W . M ., there being a good attendance of members . After the reading and confirmation of minutes , Mr . George Walton , Timperley , Cheshire , was successfully balloted for , and afterwards duly initiated into the mysteries and privileges of Antient Freemasonry by the W . M ., the working tools being presented and explained by Bro . Robert Meggitt J . W .
Following this ceremony Bros . William Simpson and William Greenhalgh were passed to the degree of F . C , the former by Bro . Wm . Boden P . M ., and the latter by the W . M . Upon the completion of Lodge business an adjournment took place to the festive board , where a very pleasant evening was spent , many Brethren being laid under contribution for songs , & c
