A vote of thanks was unanimously accorded to Sir Knight

Beswicke-Royds for coming so far to attend the Installation , and the Pre . ceptory having been closed , the Sir Knights adjourned to the Fleece Hotel , to partake of a most sumptuous banquet , which had been ordered by Sir Knight Mattison the newly-installed Oommajider . Sir Knight Tweedale Past Deputy Grand Commander of Lancashire , who hacl been detained on the way , here joined the members assembled , and was , as indeed he always seems to be , a welcome guest .

was re-appointed Tyler . Bro . William Barnes , of Lodge St . John , No . 348 , was balloted for and approved as a candidate for advancement , but being detained at some distance from home in consequence of tbe inclement weather , the ceremony could not be proceeded with . The Lodge was closed at 7 o ' clock , and the brethren adjourned to banquet .

Ho had acquired many friends by tho faithful discharge of his duties , and wo beg to express our sympathy with his widow and family in their bereavement .

THE Festival of St . John was celebrated by the Masonio body on 27 th December . The members of the Lodges in Edinburgh met in their different Lodge-rooms in the afternoon for the installation of the new Office-bearers , and afterwards dined together and celebrated tho Festival . In tho course of tho evening they observed the usual custom of interchanging deputations amongst all the Lodges

of the City . In tbe Journeyman Lodge , No . 8 , the proceedings of tho evening received additional interost by tho presentation of a gold watch , subscribed for by the members of the Lodge , to Brother John Wilson . We regret to announce the death , at soa , on the 5 th October , of Bro . Weber , who last year resigned his post of clerk in the Secretary ' s office of the Girls' School , on tho scoi-e of health . Ho had acquired many friends by tho faithful discharge of his duties , and wo beg to express our sympathy with his widow and family in their bereavement .

THE Festival of St . John was celebrated by the Masonio body on 27 th December . The members of the Lodges in Edinburgh met in their different Lodge-rooms in the afternoon for the installation of the new Office-bearers , and afterwards dined together and celebrated tho Festival . In tho course of tho evening they observed the usual custom of interchanging deputations amongst all the Lodges

of the City . In tbe Journeyman Lodge , No . 8 , the proceedings of tho evening received additional interost by tho presentation of a gold watch , subscribed for by the members of the Lodge , to Brother John Wilson . Tho presentation was made by tho new Master of tho Lodge , Brother Renuie , who referred to tho services rendered by this Past Master during his three years of office
