PHCENIX LODGE , No . 257 . THE installation of Bro . Ernest Hall as the W . M . of this Lodge for the ensuing year took place at the Lodge room in High-street , Portsmouth , on Wednesday , 27 fch ult . The ceremony was performed in efficient style by the retiring W . M ., Captain W . H . C . St . Clair , R . N ., who was supported by the Officers of the Lodge . There was a large attendance , while letters of apology were received from

ST . JOHN'S LODGE , No . 328 . THE installation ceremony of this old and prosperous Lodge was held on 20 th ult ., when the W . M . elect , Bro . " ONE AND ALL " LODGE , No . 330 . A MEETING of the brethren of this Lodge was held in their Hall in Turf-street , Bodmin , on the 20 th ult . Bro . Treverton was installed in the chair as Worshipfnl Master , Bro . Rowe was unanimously elected Steward of the C . M . A . and B . F . Bro . Vercoe presented a Past Master ' s jewel to Bro . Rowe , ia recognition of

LOYAL VICTORIA LODGE , No . 557 . THE annual festival of the above Lodge was held on Thursday , 28 th ult ., at the Masonic Hall , Callington . The weather being extremely rough , the number of brethren present was fewer than on former occasions . Bro . George Morgan W . M . elect was installed b y Bro . O . T . Pearce P . M . P . P . G . J . D ., assisted by a large Board of In . stalled Masters . After the ceremony , which was most efficiently

performed , the W . M . invested the following brethren as his Officers for the ensuing year : —Bros . Tamblyn I . P . M . Chaplain , Cousins S . W ., Rabbage J . The Ledge was then closed , and the brethren ( about thirty ) retired to Golding's Hotel , where a most excellent bauqnet was provided , and to which all did ample justice .

was initiated into the mysteries of Freemasonry . Bro . Ferguson was elected Master for 1883 ; he , in acknowledging the compliment , said : Worshipfnl Master and brethren , I thnnk yon very sincerely for tho honourable position yon have thought fit to place me in as Master of this Lodge for the ensuing year , and I trust I shall receive from each member , as well as from the Past Masters and Officers of the Lodge ,

their hearty snpport and assistance in carry ing out the good work of the Lodge , and that at the end of my year of office , I may vacate the chair with credit to tho Lodge . I must admit it is with somo diffidence that I accept the position , but I hope that at the end of my Mastership it will bo found that your confidence has not been misplaced . The election of Treasurer resulted in the prosent W . M . 's

appointment . Bro . Hemmings was re-elected Ty ler . Somo discussion took place respecting tho demise of Bro . Jonathan Leaver ( for 36 years Secretary of tho Lodge ) , at Moulsford , in tbe parish of Cholsey , where ho was buried without the knowledge of the Freemasons of Reading . It is in contemplation to erect a monument , either a

tablet , stone , or window ; the subject will be resumed at a future Lodge . All business being ended , Lodge was closed according to ancient form . The installation of Bro . Ferguson will take place on the third Tuesday in January . We congratulate Bro . Mount on a successful year of office , and on his having been appointed the Senior Grand Warden of tbe Province of Berks and Bucks .

ST . ANNE LODGE , No . 970 . THE brethren of this Lodge held their annual meeting on the 27 th ult ., at the Masonio Hall , East Looe . Owing , doubtless , t 0 the wretched weather , there was not so large an attendance of mem . b ° ra as might have been expected , the W . M . elect Bro . T . the flourishing financial condition of the Lodge . The health of Bro . G . W . Martin J . W . and late Secretary , who is about to leave England , was warmly drunk , and earnest wishes were expressed for his future prosperity in his new home . A very pleasant evening was spent , and was thoroughly enjoyed by all .

ELMS LODGE , No . 1212 . THE installation meeting of this Lodge was held at the Huyshe Masonio Hall , Stoke , when Bro . William Jenkins , who had been previously unanimously elected , was installed as the W . M . The important ceremony was well performed by Bros . Joseph Bassett , the retiring Master , T . Ripper P . M ., and F . G . Bickle P . M ., iu a large Board of Installed Masters . The Officers appointed and invested

This , one of the younger Lodges , is also one of the most prosperous , and , under the presidency of W . Bro . J . Kinton-Bond , has gained increased repute , Bro . Bond , with the assistance of W . Bro . J . Russell Lord P . M ., performed the ceremony of installing the W . M . elect , Bro . Richard A .

tablet , stone , or window ; the subject will be resumed at a future Lodge . All business being ended , Lodge was closed according to ancient form . The installation of Bro . W . and late Secretary , who is about to leave England , was warmly drunk , and earnest wishes were expressed for his future prosperity in his new home . A very pleasant evening was spent , and was thoroughly enjoyed by all .
