Sports Day R.M.I. Boys.
SPORTS DAY R . M . I . BOYS .
THE Annual Athletic Sports were held on the Grounds of the Institution on Saturday . For the first time for some years past the weather was not propitious , but as the afternoon proceeded King Sol asserted himself , and made matters more pleasant .
The Gymnastic Display took place in the Gymnasium at the commencement of the proceedings , and was most interesting , showing that great care had been given by the Instructor to his young charges . The remainder of the programme was gone through on the
playing field—the results being appended—and was closed by some extemporised races between the boys of the Band of the Strand Union Schools , which discoursed a capital programme of Music during the day , by the kind permission of the Guardians , and under the able conductorship of Bro . Binnie .
The Prizes wore most genially presented by Mrs . James Willing junr ., for whom ringing cheers were given and acknowledged by Bro . James Willing Vice-Patron of the School , member of the Board of Management , and one of the most enthusiastic workers on its behalf .
