ST . GEORGE'S LODGE , No . 2025 . TflHE annual meeting was held at the Freemasons' Hall , Ply-J _ mouth , on Tuesday , the 24 th ult , for tho purpose of installing Bro . T . J . Cole S . W . as W . M . for tho year . There was a large attendance o £ Brethren . The installing Officers were Bros . 0 . F ,

Matthison ( tho retiring W . M . ) , J . Gifford P . P . G . D . O ., G . R . Barrett P . P . G . D ., Jas . Griffin P . P . G . S . D ., C . G . Withell , F . Crouch , and John Griffin , who were supported by a largo board of installed Masters .

At the close of the Installation ceremony , which was very impressively carried out , the W . M . invested his Officers . The accounts showed that tho Lodge was , financially , in a highly satisfactory state , there being a balance to its credit of over

£ 150—an increase of £ 30 during the year . At tho close of tho Lodge business tho Brethren adjourned to the dining-hall , where the annual banquet was held . Over eighty Brethren wero present , and a very pleasant evening was passed . o o o

BEAUMONT LODGE , No . 2035 . THE Members recently dined together in the Masonic Hall , Kirkburton , on the invitation of Bro . Dr . Lownds , who is leaving tho town . The health of Bro . Lownds was drunk on the proposition of Bro . Collins , in a hearty manner , amongst great expressions of regret on his severing his connection with Kirkburton , where ho has established himself with great success and become most popular . Bro . Lownds replied to the toast in a feeling manner , stating

that nothing but tho sickness of his family would have induced him to leave Kirkburton , where he had made a largo number of friends , and none more so than the Brethren of Beaumont Lodge , whom he had always met with the greatest pleasure , and ho hoped in the future to have many opportunities of coming amongst them again . Other toasts followed , and a pleasant ovening was spent .

The members held ttieir annual social gathering in tho Masonic Hall the next evening , when thero was a brilliant gathering . Dancing commenced at 8 . 30 , and was kept up with great spirit until the early hours of the morning , to the intense enjoyment of

everyone present . Mr . Wigglesworth , Huddersfield , supplied tho musical part of the entertainment in his usual well-known style , and Mr . J . Lodge made an excellent M . C . During the evening Miss Gelder , Miss Midgley , and Miss Bradbury sang several vocal pieces in a very pleasing manner .

Tho usual children ' s party was held the following afternoon , when about seventy children and adults were present . After tea the youngsters , as well as the upgrown people , spent an enjoyable evening in dancing and games . Mr . Charles Shaw , for Mr . Manley , optician , Huddersfield , gave an exhibition by limelight of funny pictures , which pleased the whole company very much . Altogether both the ball and the children ' s party have been the most successful held in Kirkburton .

o o o CONSTANCE LODGE , No . 2135 . THE eighth anniversary was celebrated on the 18 th ult ., in the Masonic Hall , Consett , when about fifty members of the Lodge and visiting Brethren were " present . Bro . G . T . Hyden S . W . was installed Master for the ensuing year , the ceremony being ably performed by Bro . Geo . J . Christopher P . M ., assisted by Bro . N . Elsdon P . M ., and Bro . W . I . Mackay I . P . M .

Afterwards , the festival of St . John the Evangelist was commemorated , all the Brethren partaking of a most excellent repast . The new W . M . occupied the chair , while Bros . Coulthard and T . D . Dryden were in the vice-chairs . The chairman announced that telegrams or letters of "apology for absence had been received from Bros . Wm . Logan P . M ., T . Dunn P . M . ( Bishop Auckland ) , Wanless ( Witton-le-Wear ) , Jackson ( Newcastle ) , and Sterling ( Annfield Plain ) .

The usual toasts were honoured , and Bro . Cole , m replying for the Visitors , said that if it had not been for the St . Nicholas Lodge there would not have been a Constance Lodge . The greatest sympathy prevailed between these two Lodges , and he hoped they would be able to pay one another fraternal visits with more frequency than heretofore .

Bro . Holme also responded , and gave a most interesting history of Freemasonry , graphically tracing its existence to an epoch anterior to the Pharoahs . He enumerated the distinguished men who had been initiated into the mysteries of the Craft , instancing philosophers like Plato and his contemporaries , down to General Roberts .

During the proceedings , Bro . Mackay the retiring W . M . was presented on behalf of the Lodge with a gold jewel , for his valuable services during the past year .

STOUR LODGE , No . 2305 . ON Thursday , 19 th ult ., Dr . Wilks was installed W . M . at Ashford , by Bro . Julius Kingsford P . M . Tho Deputy Provincial Grand Master of Kent Bro . J . S . Eastes was among the large number of Brethren present . Tho annual banquet was served by Bro . Sargent at tho Saracen ' s Head Hotel . o o o

WIGAN LODGE , No . 2326 . ON Saturday , 14 th ult ., the installation took place of Bro . W . Taborner as W . M ., tho ceremony being performed by Bro . Captain J . D . Murray P . G . Treas . Eng . Tho usual Loyal and Masonic toasts wore afterwards honoured .

BOOTLE-W 1 LBRAHAM LODGE , No . 2463 . SINCE its consecration last year this Lodge , which has its headquarters at tho Village Hall , Knotty Ash , Lancashire , has had a successful career . The number of members has nearly doubled , and the funds are in a satisfactory condition . The first Worshipful Master was Bro . Charles Fothergill Prov . G . J . D ., who on Thursday of last week , in the presence of a numerous assembly of members of tho Lodge and visiting Brethren , gave placo to Bro . Edward H . Cookson P . Prov . G . W ., his successor in the chair .

The Worshipful Master-elect was presented for Installation by Bros . Bucknell P . P . A . G . D . C . ( Staff . ) , and R . G . Bradley P . D . G . D . O , and tho ceromony of installation was efficiently performed by Bro . Fothergill . Having been duly installed , Bro . Cookson invested his Officers .

Tho post-prandial proceedings were of a most enjoyable and interesting nature , made the more so by the contributions of musical Brethren , headed by Bro . Walter Burnet . During the evening Bro . Fothergill was made the recipient of a Past Master ' s jewel with a suitable inscription , and with a handsome tea and coffee service for his wife .

THE Midland Railway Company have arranged , with a view to the greater convenience of the public , for the Booking Offices at St . Pancras and Moorgate Street Stations to be open for the issue of Tickets all day on Friday and Saturday , 11 th and 12 th May , when Tickets to all principal Stations on the Midland Railway can

be obtained beforehand at their Offices , a list of which can bo had on application . Tho Tickets obtained at theso Offices will bo available from St . Pancras Station , and will be issued at the same fares as charged at that Station , and dated to suit the convenience of Passengers .

Cheap Excursion Trains will be run from London to Dublin via Morecambo , on Friday , 11 th May , to return 15 th , 17 th , 19 th , 22 nd , 24 th , or 26 th May ; to Dublin via Liverpool , on Thursday , 10 th May ; to Belfast , Londonderry , and Portrush for Giant's Causeway , via Barrow , on Saturday , 12 th May , for 16 days * , to Londonderry , via Morecambo , on Saturday , 12 th May , to return 14 th , 17 th , 21 st , or
