The usual Twelfth Night Entertainment to those of the Girls who remain at the School during the Christmas holidays will be given on Monday next , commencing at 4 p . m . We have no doubt there will be the usual number of visitors present , and we are sure they will make a point

of doing their utmost to contribute to the pleasure of the little girls . Those who are compelled to remain behind , either because their relatives are beyond visiting distance

or abroad , or from other cause , deserve that some such kindness as this should be shown them , and we trust the meeting will pass off as agreeably as it invariably has done in former years .

During the past year tho Royal National Lifeboat Institution has rescued , by means of its lifeboats , 811 persona from drowning , and has saved 35 vessels from destruction . In addition , it has distributed rewards to the crews of fishing and other boats for saving 200 more persons , making a total of 1041 lives saved through its instriipenality ,
