REPORTS OF MEETINGS .

We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonic meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative , to report Lodge or other proceedings .

CEAFT : METEOPOLITAN . — : o : — DUKE OF CONNAUGHT LODGE , No . 1524 . f THHE last meeting of this Lodge for the season was held on Thursday , I 26 th ult ., at Anderton's Hotel , Fleet Street , under the presidency of Bro . Archer Mead Archer W . M ., who was supported by JH . Pearce I . P . M ., E . Frisby S . W ., H . B . Burgess J . W ., W . Brand P . M . Treas ., C . Lorkin P . M . Sec , J . Bedford S . D ., P . Fensenthal J . D ., F . Henderson Stew ., C . S . Jacques Org ., A . Smith D . C , H . Pharo I . G ., E . Mallett P . M . Tyler ; Past Masters F . Frisby , W . Oakley , L . G . Haldgald , A . R . Olley , E . Turnhill , J . H . Rich ,

After the usual formalities of opening , the Lodge was advanced to the second degree , whereupon Bros . W . Ockelford , W . Hatton and C . H . Burgess were presented as candidates for the third degree . Having answered trie usual questions and conformed to customary routine they were regularly raised as Master Masons . The Lodge was resumed to the first degree , and Bros . A . Harris and J . R . Bell , candidates for passing , were entrusted , and subsequently admitted to a participation in the secrets of the second degree .

The W . M . again resumed the Lodge to the first degree , and the ballot was taken for the following gentlemen , candidates for initiation r Mr . Arthur William Kenyon Adams , and Mr . James Read Roe , both of whom were unanimously elected , and regularly admitted to a participation in Masonic light by the W . M . It is a matter of gratification to say that each of the ceremonies was rendered in a most perfect and impressive manner , the working of the Worshipful Master calling for hearty expressions of approval from many of those present .

After further transactions the Lodge was closed and the Brethren retired to a well served banquet , Bro . Leslie Barry , Manager of this old Masonic house , personally supervising tbe arrangements . After the dinner the W . M . proposed the usual Loyai toasts . Bro . Pearce I . P . M ., in highly complimentary terms , proposed the health of the W . M ., pointing out his good qualities as a Freemason . As W . M . of their Lodge he had shown marked ability that evening by working the three degrees in a really faultless manner .

The W . M . met a hearty reception , and tendered his sincere thanks for the way in which the toast had been honoured . It was indeed a pleasure to think that he gave satisfaction . Whatever he could possibly do for the welfare of the Lodge he would most happily undertake . The next toast was one of especial pleasure to the W . M ., being the health of the Initiates , to whom he extended a hearty welcome .

Bro . A . W . K . Adams thanked the Worshipful Master for having initiated him into the Craft . He was also much indebted to the Brethren for receiving him as a Brother amongst them . In time to come he hoped to be able to prove that their confidence was well deserved . Bro . J . R . Roe also thanked the W . M . for having accepted him as a member of the Brotherhood . He had been very much impressed with the ceremony , and would never forget the obligation he had taken , nor what was due to Freernasony . In time to come he hoped to occupy the honourable position at present filled by thc Worshipful Master .

The W . M . in a most cordial manner gave the toast of the Visitors , which was honoured and replied to in due course . The Past Masters' toast was next given from the chair , the W . M . saying they had the best of Past Masters in their Lodge , Brethren who did everything in their power for the welfare of Freemasonry , and were always ready to give any assistance that was required of them . Bro . Pearce I . P . M . responded in eloquent manner , as did other of the Past Masters .

The toast of the Treasurer and Secretary was proposed , and with it was coupled a compliment to the Wardens and other Officers , and response was made to the same . The Tyler's toast concluded the proceedings , which had been most enjoyable throughout .

Before parting , thanks were accorded to the Brethren who had contributed to the enjoyment of the evening with songs , & c , these including Bros . J . H . Rich P . M ., F . Frisby P . M ., W . Robinson , J . A . Smith , F . Henderson and several others . Bro . C . S . Jacques officiated at the piano during the evening .

INSTRUCTION . — : o : — PROSPERITY LODGE , No . 65 . A VERY good meeting was held on Wednesday , at the Weaver ' s Arms , London Wall , under the presidency of Bro . W . Baker W . M . of the Lion and Lamb Lodge , No . 192 , whose great popularity Jed to a large galheringof Brethren . He was supported by Bros . J . G . Robeson S . W ., J . Stokes J . W ., D . Harlow P . M . Preceptor , Jas . Smith P . M . Treas ., H . 3 . Meadows P . M . Sec , A . Ferguson S . D ., J . Collins J . D ., A . J . Ripper I . G ., W . A . Sargent , W . G . Read , J . Miller , H . The ceremony of passing was rehearsed , with Bro . Palmer acting as candidate , the W . M . giving the full description of the working tools . The Lodge was resumed to the first degree , and the ceremony of initiation was gone through , Bro . W . G . Rend lepres-entirg tlio candidate . The ceremonies were well rendered by Bro . Baker , who desencs compliment for his work . Bro . Robeson was elected to preside at the next meeting .

ROYAL ALFRED LODGE , No . 780 . ON the 26 th ult ., at the Star and Garter Hotel , Kew Bridge , Brother W . Langdon W . M ., R . W . Robinson S . W ., H . R . Worth J . W ., F . J . Larkman Treasurer , J . H . Gumming Secretary , W . P . Cockburn P . M ., H . T . Johnson S . D ., L . Walsh J . D ., A . H . Bridger I . G ., R . H . Williams Preceptor , E . H . Wilcox , F . J . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . F . J . Larkman acting as candidate . The Lodge was called off and on . Bro . Cockburn was examined , and the ceremony of passing was rehearsed , he acting as candidate .

Bro . Robinson was unanimously elected W . M . for the ensuing week . A ballot for five guineas to be handed to one of the Masonic Charities was secured by the esteemed Preceptor Bro . R . H . Williams P . P . G . J . D . Middx ., which caused great saiisiaction to the assembled Brethren . We may mention that this is the second ballot that has taken place this year , and proves that

the Lodge of Instruction is well attended , and we feel sure those who visit it appreciate the excellent teaching of the Preceptor . The hotel is admirably situated and easily reached by rail , tram , bus or river , and the genial proprietor Bro . Captain Purkiss is always glad to welcome any Brethren who may favour him with a call .

The Lodge was resumed in the third , closed down , and adjourned until Monday , Gth June . Next Monday being Bank Holiday there will be no meeting . Bro . A . Butcher will preside at the next Lodge .

Cooper , and others . The Lodge was opened in tbe three degrees , and closed down to the first . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Lee acting as candidate . He afterwards answered the questions leading to the second degree .

It was proposed by Bro . Darch Preceptor that Bro . Lee , manager of the Hotel , be elected an Bonorary member , which was seconded and unanimously agreed to , the compliment being duly acknowledged . Bro . Collins was elected an ordinary member , and Bro . Conisbee W . M . for the next meeting .

It was proposed by Bro . Darch Preceptor that Bro . Lee , manager of the Hotel , be elected an Bonorary member , which was seconded and unanimously agreed to , the compliment being duly acknowledged . Bro . Collins was elected an ordinary member , and Bro . Conisbee W . M . for the next meeting .
