Reports Of Meetings.

The cloth having been removed , the usual Loyal and Masonio toasts ptoposed and responded to in the heartiest manner . The utmost harmony prevailed during the evening , which was considered one of the most successful gatherings of Stirling Lodge .

ST . GEORGE LODGE , No . 2025 . THE annual meeting was held at Freemasons' Hall , Plymouth , on Tuesday , 23 rd ult ., when Bro . J . E . Weale was installed W . M . The

ceremony was impressively rendered by Bros . Cole , Griffin , Gifford , Gidley , Withell , and Crouch . At the close of the Lodge business the Brethren adjourned to the dining hall where the banquet was admirably served by Bro . Harvey . The W . M . presided , and the toasts were interspersed with songs and recitations .

UNIVERSITIES LODGE , No . 2352 . rw 1 HE annual meeting was held at the Masonic Hall , Old Elvet , Durham , I on Thursday , 18 th ult ., when the installation of Bro . Lionel Booth , M . D ., S . W . P . M . 1334 P . Prov . S . G . W . took place . The ceremony of installation was impressively performed by Bro . James Lawrence , M . D ., Provincial G . S . D ., and after the installation the W . M . invested the new Officers .

At the conclusion of the installation and other Masonic business a banquet in celebration of the annual festival was held at the Three Tuns Hotel , Durham . The usual Masonic toasts , including-that of the Sister Universities Lodges , were proposed .

BROXBOURNE LODGE , No . 2353 . THE regular meeting of this Lodge was held on Saturday , 27 th ult ., at the Hadley Hotel , New Barnet , under the presidency of Bro . H . Holland W . M ., who was supported by Bros . H . Monson S . W ., H . Jalerne J . W ., E .

Mulvey P . M . Treas ., E . Gittmgs P . M . Sec , J . Phillips D . C , J . Hunt I . G ., J . Helbourne and J . Patrick Stewards . Bros . Bennett , Long , Hempel , Redway , Roberts , Nichols , Knight , Bircham , Ramsbotham , Willis , Hummil , Austen , Ridgway , & c , T . C . Edmonds P . M . acting Tyler .

The Lodge having been opened and the minutes confirmed , was advanced to the second degree , when Bros . Bennett and Long were regularly passed , alter which Lodge was resumed to the first and Messrs . Crowther , Passenger , Wright and Frith were initiated , the working of the W . M . being most impressive and apparently creating a good effect on the candidates .

The election for Worshipful Master for the ensuing year followed , Bro . H . Monson Senior Warden receiving the unanimous support of the members , while Bro . P . M . Mulvey was re-elected as Treasurer . In consideration of the valuable and efficient services of the W . M . a Past Master ' s jewel of extra value was voted to him .

The Audit Committee was elected and Lodge closed , the Brethren afterwards sitting down to a choice banquet , served under the personal direction of Bro . Bennett , Host of the Hotel .

After the reading of minutes , Bro . Brabner I . P . M . read one of tho Antient Charges , this being followed by the rendering of the Traditional History , primarily for the benefit of Bros . Stubbs , Holt , Bowes , and S . L . Watts , who had not previously heard it . Bro . Fred Hilton P . M . acting Secretary having read the Bve-laws of the

ljodge , the Pic-nic Committee presented their report , whereby it appears that it is in contemplation to pay a visit during the summer months to Fountains Abbey . We may here state that it is easily within the bounds of possibility to spend a happy day in the delightful neighbourhood of this old and historical ruin , and we sincerely hope that a good muster may be obtained to make the trip a successful one in every way .

At the festive board which followed , Loyal and Masonic toasts were < nven . Bro . Fred Hilton proposing the health of the W . M . Ho praised him , not only for his management of the Lodge , but spoke of tbe admirable manner in which Bro . Beever had given the Historical Charge . The W . M ., in reply , thanked the Brethren for their reception of the toast

it would have been more satisfactory had more members been present , but he oxplained that several were away through causes which were unavoidable . On this occasion , in spite of abstentions , they formed a select and happy Lod ge . With regard to his rendering of the Traditional History , tho fact was not much to boast of , as he had done it before . He thanked tho Officers for their support , and characterised them as " a good lot . " Songs , & c ., were given by Bros . Nail , Hilton , Stubbs , Todd , and Roberts , i > ro . Edwyn A . BOOTLE-WILBRAHAM LODGE , No . 2463 . CONSECRATED about two years ago , this Lodge , says the " Liverpool Mercury , ' has been specially notable for the plan of charity it has pursued so successfully . Devoting to benevolent obiects a varv Inr ™

proportion of income , tho result has been that during the past year a sum of about £ 80 has been voted for two popular Charities ( including nearly £ 50 the result of a Church Parade inaugurated by Rev . F . J . Powell ) £ 21 to the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls , and £ 58 19 s to the West Lancashire Hamer Benevolent Institution .

A MEETING of this popular Lodge was held at the Old Boar ' s Head Hotel , Manchester , on Tuesday , the following being present : Bros . J . W . Abbott P . M . P . P . G . D . C . and Preceptor , G . T . Lenard Treasurer , Alf Hebden P . M . P . P . G . D . D . C . and Secretary , G . B . Goodfellow , H . J . Harrison , William Goodman , R . Lingard , Jonathan Whittaker , H . G . Jackson , George Parker P . M ., Ed . Roberts P . M ., J . J . Dean , W . Marshall , George Rothwell Berry .

Brother Goodfellow assumed the principal chair , Bros . Harrison and Goodman acting as Senior and Junior Warden respectively . Lodge was opened at 7 * 35 , and the minutes having been read and passed , the ceremony of Initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Dean acting as candidate . The duties of Deacons were undertaken by Bros . Lingard and Whittaker , with Brother Jackson as I . G . The Working Tools were presented and explained by Bro . Goodman , while Bro . Parker P . M . rendered the N . E . Charge .

Bros . Harrison and Goodfellow now changed positions , and the former went through the ceremony of Passing , with Bro . Berry as candidate , the Working Tools being presented by Bro . Hebden . The following were proposed as Joining Members , and will be balloted for at the meeting to be held on Thursday next : Bros . Thos . Pollitt Cooper , Truth Lodge , 581 ; J . W . Taylor , Townloy Parker Lodgo , 1083 ; Edtfin Sawyer , Wilton Lodge , 1077 .

Before the Lodge was closed , Bro . Abbott Preceptor announced tho meeting of Provincial Grand , Lodge , to be held at Denton , on the 22 nd inst ., and expressed a wish that as many Officers as could make it convenient would attend , so that the gathering might be a successful one .

ROYAL ARCH . — : o : — ZETLAND CHAPTER , No . 236

THE annual meeting was held on the 24 th ult . at the Masonic Hall , Duncombe Place , York , when there was a numerous gathering of Companions , including several Past Principals and Visitors from other towns , to assist in the installation and investment of Principals and Officers . . The chair was occupied by Comp . M . Rooke P . G . J . North and East Yorkshire , and , assisted by Comp . H . Foster P . G . D . C . he , in the most perfect mannerinstalled the Officers .

, Amongst other business , the report of the Auditors , which was favourable , was adopted . Much regret was expressed at the sudden indisposition of Treasurer Past Master Jos . Todd , who on this date should have been in

London , to receive the honour of investment , in Grand Lodge , as Grand Standard Bearer . After the business the Companions dined together , and a pleasant evening was spent .

ST . ANNE CHAPTER , No . 970 . THE installation meeting at East Looe , was presided over by Comp . T . Cook P . Z . acting M . E . Z . Comp . W . Walters was installed in the chair of Z ., and E . Olver II ., but owing to the unavoidable absence of Comp . H . Shapcott J .-elect , his installation was postponed .

The installing Officer was Comp . W . Alsford , and well did he perform the task . Tho unavoidable absence of the I . P . Z . Comp . Sholto H . Hare , through serious illness , was feelingly referred to by several Companions , as the presence of so ardent a Mason is always anticipated with real pleasure . After certain sums had been voted to the charities the Chapter closed . The

banquet was admirably served at Comp . Cook ' s comfortable hostlery , the ; Ship Hotel . The usual Loyal and Arch toasts were honoured . The presiding ! First Principal being very brief in his remarks , and the Companions being ¦ equally terse in their replies , the proceedings were not unduly protracted . The evening ' s entertainment was agreeably enhanced by some excellent songs .

SIR HUGH MYDDELTON CHAPTER , No . 1602 . A MEETING was held at the Cock Tavern , Highbury Corner , on Thursday , 25 tb ult . Comp . W . Wright P . P . G . Org . Middlesex M . E . Z ., T , Green H ., C . A . Dettmar J ., John Weston P . Z . Treas ., John Osborn P . Z . S . E ., Cox P . S ., J . James A . S . Past Principals McLaren , Bailey , Greenfield , Homanand Bird . Comps . Sage , Herman , Aiming , Parker , and others .

, The Chapter was opened and the minutes read and confirmed . Bro . Benvoize was exalted into the Royal Arch Degree by P . P . Weston , in the unavoidable absence of the M . E Z ., in a most earnest and praiseworthy manner , and he was ably assisted by the Officers . After hearty good wishes the Chapter was closed .

A choice banquet followed , under the care of Comp . Tuck , manager of the Hotel , who spares neither time nor trouble to merit the satisfaction of the Companions . The Loyal toasts were given with commendable brevity , and heartily honoured .

The toast of the M . E . Z . was very warmly received , the Companions of the Chapter taking every opportunity to express the very high esteem they entertain for their chief . The M . E ., in replying , thanked the P . Ps . and Comps . for the kind expression of their feelings . Though unable to be with them in the early

part of the day be had been providing for their comfort . There was an excellent programme of music , and he should set them an example of short speeches which he hoped all would observe . He was gratified with his reception , and tho welfare of the Chapter should be his constant care . The toast of the P . Ps ., Visitors , Exaltee and Officers followed , the jeplies being in accordance with the wishes of the M . E . Z . Too much praise

A choice banquet followed , under the care of Comp . Tuck , manager of the Hotel , who spares neither time nor trouble to merit the satisfaction of the Companions . The Loyal toasts were given with commendable brevity , and heartily honoured .

The toast of the M . E . Z . was very warmly received , the Companions of the Chapter taking every opportunity to express the very high esteem they entertain for their chief . The M . E ., in replying , thanked the P . Ps . and Comps . for the kind expression of their feelings . Though unable to be with them in the early

part of the day be had been providing for their comfort . There was an excellent programme of music , and he should set them an example of short speeches which he hoped all would observe . He was gratified with his reception , and tho welfare of the Chapter should be his constant care . The toast of the P . Ps ., Visitors , Exaltee and Officers followed , the jeplies being in accordance with the wishes of the M . E . Z . Too much praise
