MANCHESTER DRAMATIC LODGE , No . 387 . A REGULAR meeting was hold in the Freemasons' Hal ! , Cooper Street , on Thursday , 24 th September , when thero wore present Bros . Birch W . M ., Ramsay S . W ., J . il . Simpson Secretary , Richardson P . M . 581 P . P . G . D . I . P . M ., Fowell W . M . 2389 acting J . W ., Swinu S . D ., Farrington I . G ., E . G . Simpson P . M . P . P . G . D . Cheshire , Core , Paulsen , Linde , Courtney , and Schloss . Visitors—Brother * .

Forrest P . M . 1633 , Cooper P . M . 1055 , Courtridge , and Le Hay ( Nautoh Girl Company ) . The brethren , as ia customary , met in the afternoon , when the Lodge was opened with solemn prayer , and the minutes of the previous meeting read and confirmed . Bros . Core and Paulsen being ready and willing to tako their third degree , were

interrogated as to their proficiency in the second . Bro . Birch W . M . being detained on important business , his position as W . M . was taken by Bro . Richardson , who raised Bro . Core to the sublime degree of a Master Mason , in thafc painstaking and impressive manner , for whioh he is renowned . The brethren here adjourned for

tea , after whioh bnsiness was resumed , aud Brother Birch having meanwhile arrived , Bro . Paulsen was raised to tho third degree . Prior to fche Lodge being closed , several propositions were pat in for joining members , and the Lodge was closed in peace and harmony . At the social board the health of Bros . Core and Panlsen were proposed and responded to .

LODGE OP HARMONY , No . 935 ( SALPORD ) . A REGULAR meeting of this Lodge took place in the Freemasons' Hall , Adelphi Street , on Thursday , 24 th September . Owing to the Agricultural Show being held at Altrincham , there was a sparse attendance of members ; amongst thoso present were Bros . West W . M ., Galloway S . W ., Thomas J . W ., Clarke P . M . Treas ., Makin Secretary , Openshaw J . D ., Richardson I . G ., and John Smith .

Visitor—Lisenden P . M . 317 . The Lodge was opened soon after six o ' clock , with solemn prayer , and tbe inmates of the previous meeting were read and confirmed . Bro . Smith was then interrogated

as to his proficiency in the first degree , and having satisfactorily answered , withdrew . He was subsequently passed to the second degree by the W . M ., and after some other business had been disonssed , the Lodge was closed in peace and harmony , at 8 * 30 .

TRAPFORD LODGE , No . 1496 ( MANCHESTER . ) A REGULAR meeting was held afc the Western Hotel , Moss Side , on Monday , when Bro . Davies , supported by about 20 other brethren attended . The business transacted was the raising of Bro . Rnssell to the third degree , the nnanimons election of Bro . Blears to tho office of W . M . for tho enamel *** year , tho ro-otection of

Bro . Burslem P . M . as Treasurer , and re-appointment of Bro . Riddell as Tyler . Auditors wero appointed to inspect the Treasurer ' s isocounts , and also a Committee to make arrangements for the Sfc . John ' s Festival at the nexfc meeting .

CHOUGH LODGE , No . 2264 . THE installation meeting was held on Thursday , the 24 fch nit ., at the Cannon Street Hotel , Brother G . J . Judge presiding . After tho formal business had been disposed of , Bro . W . B . Marcus P . M . r . nd Treasurer , afc the request of the Worshipful Master , assumed tho chair , and installed Bro . Charles Mussared , Senior Warden and

Worshipfnl Master elect , as Master of the Lodge for tho ensuing twelve months . Bro . Judge was invested aa the Immediate Pasfc Master , Piggott Senior Warden , Scotfc Miller Jnnior Warden , Marcus P . M . Treasurer , Dewsnap P . M . Secretary , Smith Senior Deacon , Porcival Junior Deacon , Jull Inner Guard , Saqui Dir . of Cars ., Turle Loe Organist , Breeze and Haynes Stewards , Bowler Tyler . After the addresses had boen delivered , tho new Worshipfnl Master

initiated Mr . Albert Bromet and Mr . Frederick Link into Freemasonry . A vote of thanks to Bro . Marcus for perform ! ig tho ceremony of installation , moved by Bro . Judge and seconded by tho Worshipful Master , was carried unanimously , and the Lodge was thou closed , the brethren adjourning for an elegant banquet . In tho course of the evening Bro . J . G . The brethren met at 5 * 30 , when the Lodge wa ? opened with solemn prayer , aud the minutes of the previous meeting read and confirmed . The ballot was taken for Mr . Hamnett , and being declared favourable , he wa * initiated into Freemasonry by tbe W . M .

John ' s Festival . , Ifc is pleasing to chronicle fche admirable and workmanlike manner in which the ceremonies of initiation and passing were done , alike by tha W . M ., fche S . W . and the Officers ; and if a special meed of praise is awarded to Bro . Beever for his almost faultless Deaconing , it is no more than

he deserves , aa all the visitors were much impressed by it . After some farther business had been discussed , hearty good wishes were expressed , and the Lodge was cloned io peace and harmony , afc 8 * 15 . The brethren adjourned to supper , which was served in a mosfc beautifully decorated room , lighted by electricity . The snpper was a miniature banquet , and gave general satisfaction . After sapper the

brethren returned fco fche Lodge room , and assembled round the social board . The nsual Loyal and Masonio toasts were honoured , Bro . Holdsworth P . P . G . D . C . Welt Yorkshire responding for the Provincial Grand Officers , and expressing his sincere pleasure and satisfaction ab fche admirable manner in whioh the ceremonies had been performed , and the extremely cordial welcome and hospitality

he had received . Bro . Lloyd proposed the initiate , in laudatory terms , and Bro . Hamnefct's health -was heartily drank , after whioh Bro . Thomas ' s clear musical voice was heard fco advantage in tbe E . A . song . The initiate having responded , Bro . Wrigley W . M .-elect proposed tho health of the newly passed Bro . Schofield , whioh was drank by all present , and responded to . The W . M . next proposed the

visitors , in thafc happy vein for whioh he ia renowned , and the toaat was responded to by Bros . Sawer , Roylo , Duckworth , und Lisenden . The health of fcho W . M .-elect Bro . Wrigley was proposed in flattering terms by tho W . M ., and drunk with enthusiasm . The intervals between the toasts were enlivened with selections on the mandoline , gnitar and zither , from Bros . Baron Schofield and Wrigloy . A mosfc enjoyable evening was spent .

Bromhead ) proceeded fco instal his successor , Dr . Dring . This he did with his accustomed ability , and in the most impressive manner , more particularly when delivering tbe closing addresses , which ware declaimed mosfc eloquently , and strongly appealed to tho feelings of all present ; it has rarely been our good fortune to hear this ceremony rehearsed as on this occasion . The newly-installed Master having

appointed his Officers for the ensuing year , and the business of the evening having been concluded , the Lodge was closed in ancient form , and with solemn prayer . Tho brethren then adjourned to tho banqueting table , where a sumptuous repast awaited them . After fche usual Loyal and Mnsonic toasts , the evening was enlivened by several excellent songs , & c , by tho brethren . The banquet was supplied by Bro . Smith , the proprietor of the hotel .

Wrigley was proposed in flattering terms by tho W . M ., and drunk with enthusiasm . The intervals between the toasts were enlivened with selections on the mandoline , gnitar and zither , from Bros . Baron Schofield and Wrigloy . A mosfc enjoyable evening was spent .

This he did with his accustomed ability , and in the most impressive manner , more particularly when delivering tbe closing addresses , which ware declaimed mosfc eloquently , and strongly appealed to tho feelings of all present ; it has rarely been our good fortune to hear this ceremony rehearsed as on this occasion . The newly-installed Master having

appointed his Officers for the ensuing year , and the business of the evening having been concluded , the Lodge was closed in ancient form , and with solemn prayer . Tho brethren then adjourned to tho banqueting table , where a sumptuous repast awaited them . After fche usual Loyal and Mnsonic toasts , the evening was enlivened by several excellent songs , & c , by tho brethren . The banquet was supplied by Bro . Smith , the proprietor of the hotel .
