initiative . That useful Association of Masters and Wardens would ba a pre-eminently suitable body to discuss it , and the Association would augment its services to the Order by pressing forward the consideration of the subject . A conference of the W . Masters of tho city and suburban Lodges

would also afford an admirable opportunity and means for arriving at an understanding in common upon a matter which nearly concerns thom all , and we suggest that the W . M . of No . 1 Lodge , as senior Lodge in tho jurisdiction , might convone such a conference . After tho suggestion has been made in these columns none could deem his action

invidious ; and such an act on his part would be in Masonry what patriotism is in public affairs—an act of self-devotion . Whatever course may be pursued , wo trust that some
