Sister Lodges , Bro . G . C . Heron , referred to tha enterprise that the brethren of tho Lodgo of St . Maughold had shown , not only in endeavouring to produce thoroughly good Masonio working , but in the establishment of a Club , in connection with tho Lodge ; which , being at once of a social and Masonio character provided tho

members aud their visitors with those moans of friendly intercourse that wore so desirable in small communities , such as theirs was . Ho trusted that ere long , their brethren in tho South would have founded such a club , which , he was persuaded would conduce to the cementing of friendship and the advancement of Freemasonry .

M . for the ensuing year the choice of tho brethren fell unanimously ou the S . W . Bro . W . A . Farrington , who duly roturued thanks for tho hononr . Bro . A . B . Whittaker P . M . was again elected Treasurer and Bro . Cantillon Tyler . Bros . Lyon and Jacobson were appointed auditors of tho Treasurer ' s accounts . A vote of condolence was ordered to be sent to Mr . F .

Green , brother of Bro . R . E . Groon , one of the oldest memhers of the Avon Lodge ; also to Bro . Henry Bracewoll , over the death of bis wife . Thero being no further business , " hearty good wishes " were expressed by the visitors , and the Lodge was closed in peace and harmony at 9-25 . At the social board the health of tho initiate , the

newly-pnsaed nnd raised brethren , wero proposed and responded to . Tho Visitors was responded to by Bros . Pitt Hardaore and R . R , Lisendeu , and'the former Brother delighted his hearers with a olevei rendering of his brother-in-law ' s ( Harry Nicholls ) composition , " The Villain of the Piece . " A very brief but pleasant time was spent .

faiHE second annual Masonio ball in aid of the Durham Charity -fl- Fund took place in the Town Hall , Bishop Auckland , on the 19 th ult ., under the auspices of the Wear Valley Lodge , No . 1121 ; it was a very gay and enjoyable function , at whioh the Worshipful Master , Wardens , and Brethren appeared in full-dress clothing and insignia of their Masonic rank . The room was vory elegantly

embellished with shields of the Bishop of Durham , Sir Wm . Eden , and others ; a selection . of lodge banners , iuoludiug the handsome colours from tho Provincial Lodge , mirrors iu gilt casements , foliage plants from Auckland Caatle , also an interesting assemblage of Lodgo emblems , and so on . Mr . Edward Hinde catered at the refreshment bullet .

faiHE second annual Masonio ball in aid of the Durham Charity -fl- Fund took place in the Town Hall , Bishop Auckland , on the 19 th ult ., under the auspices of the Wear Valley Lodge , No . 1121 ; it was a very gay and enjoyable function , at whioh the Worshipful Master , Wardens , and Brethren appeared in full-dress clothing and insignia of their Masonic rank . The room was vory elegantly

embellished with shields of the Bishop of Durham , Sir Wm . Eden , and others ; a selection . of lodge banners , iuoludiug the handsome colours from tho Provincial Lodge , mirrors iu gilt casements , foliage plants from Auckland Caatle , also an interesting assemblage of Lodgo emblems , and so on . Mr . Edward Hinde catered at the refreshment bullet .
