Tho musical programme , carried out under the direction of Bros . Dr . A . King and Dr . F . J . Sawyer proved most enjoyable . The vocalists engaged were Madame Antoinette Luck , Miss Minnie Freeman , and Bros . J . A . Brown , Edward Dalzell , Edward Plater , and C . Ackerman ,

who elicited warm applause by the admirable manner in which they gave their songs and glees , the latter , for the male voices , being an especially pleasing feature . Bro . Kuhe delighted the brethren with a pianoforte solo . The duties of accompanist were admirably carried by Bro . W . N . Roe .

AT fche regular meeting , held afc the Queen's Hotel , Birkenhead , on the 17 th ult ., a well deserved honour , was paid by the attendance of the Provincial Grand Master of Cheshire , Bro . THE annual installation meeting took place in the Eoyal Pavilion , Brighton , on Saturday tbe 19 th ult . There was a large gathering of brethren of the Lodge and distinguished visitors , great interest being taken in fche installation as W . M . of Bro . Pocock , the ceremony being most ably performed by that Pasfc Master of Masonic ritual Bro . T . Fenn . Bro . 0 . J . Pocock having been duly installed ,

rilHE meeting held on the 21 st ult ., in the Masonic Hall , North JL Bridge Street , Monkwearrnoutb , waa quite au exceptional gathering , the meeting being the first since the Provincial Grand Lodge of Durham , held at Sunderland last month , at which the Senior P . M . of tho Lodge , Bro . R . W . Halfnight , was elected aa Grand Treasurer of the Province , and the present W . M . of the Lodge ,

Bro . George Washington Bain , was appointed Grand Registrar of the Province of Durham . The attendance on tho present occasion was a very large ono . After the regular business of the meeting , tho proceedings at the recent mooting of Provincial Grand Lodge and tho honour conferred upon Bros . Halfnight aud Bain , and thus upon

the Williamson Lodge , was made the subject of a resolution that a suitable minute bo entered upon the Lodgo records , which was proposed by Bro . F . Maddison , seconded by Bro . Wm . Liddell , and accordingly adopted . The fact thafc a number of the principal Provincial Officers of tho Province of Northumberland were present at the recent meeting was also included in tho resolution .

SINCERITY LODGE , No . 1019

ON Wednesday , the 16 th ult ., a highly interesting and instructive lecture waa given by Bro . Dr . Spark P . M . 289 , to a large gathering of Freemasons in the above Lodge , of which Bro . William Ash is the Worshipful Master . The illustrations , which comprised many beautiful compositions by brethren of tho " mystic tie "—Mozart , Haydn , Mendelssohn , Franz , Henrv Smart ,

and the lecturer himself , were admirably rendered by Bros . Blagbro , Scarth , Flower , Hardman , G . Carbeifc , and Dunnill , tho latter of whom presided at tho organ . The lecture was one of deep interest to those Masons who feel tho importance of a good " musical

ritual" in tho various degrees , and it received the cordial approval of all tho brethren present ( among whom wero many of the leaders of the Craft in West Yorkshire ) , and AVO hope to see Brother Dr . Spark's " Liber Musicus , " from which tho whole of tho musical illustrationa were taken , moro generally appreciated and adopted .

ALEXANDRA PALACE LODGENo . 1541

rpiIE greatly discussed question as to tho admiasion of ladies to JL Masonic festivities was very pleasantly solved last Saturday , when the brethren of tho above Lodge , accompanied by their wives * , Bisters , and sweethearts , assembled at tho Holborn Viaduct Hotol , and spent a most enjoyablo evening . Tho Lodgo was previously

opened for bnsiness in the afternoon , when tho W . M . Bro . E . Wilding presided , and was assisted by Bros . Snelling I . P . M ., II . H . Shirley [ 8 . W ., J . E . Richardson J . W ., Larchin P . M . Treasurer , J . R . Stacey P . M . Secretary , W . Newton S . D ., Walter Braly J . D ., Howard Summons p . C ,., Lausdowu I . G ., Churloa Browning Organist , aud Broa . 11 . privileges of Freemasonry , having been duly balloted for and approved , was initiated by the W . M . in a highly impressive mrennor , and subsequently took hia seat in the Lodge . Bros . Harris , Tuatin , and Immisch , having answered the usual questions , were raised to the sublime degree , the ceremony being likewise performed by

Bro . Wilding . The balance sheeta for the Lodge and the Benevolent-Fund were audited and passed . The business being thus satisfactorily concluded , the Lodge was closed in due form , and the brethren adjourned . The guests were received upon arrival by a nnmber of willing Stewards , who conducted them to the reception room , where

they were duly presented to the Worshipful Master by Bro . J . R . Stacey , and soon after six o'clock proceeded to the banquet room , where dinner was served . The few Loyal and Masonio toaata were aupplemented by that of the Ladies , proposed by the W . M . and humorously responded to by the Brother Initiate . A capital concert

followed , in which the family of Bro . R . J . Ward took principal part , and proved themselves proficient artistes . The company afterwards adjourned to the ball-room , when dancing was commenced , to the great enjoyment of the fair sex , all of whom must have coincided

with the opinion expressed by one of their number , who said thafc , " Really , Masonry was very jolly . " We must also congratulate the W . M . and the Lodge generally on the success of their venture , for everything passed off without the slightest hitch .

THE installation meeting of this Lodge took place afc fche Jubilee Buildings , Ealing on Saturday , the 12 fch ultimo . Owing to the large attendance , through the kindness of the Chairman of fche Ealing Local Board ( Mr . E . M . Nelson ) , the Board-room was placed at the disposal of the Lodge . Assistant Steward . The addresses were impressively rendered by Bro . H . Kasner . A sum of ten guineas waa voted to the friends of a deceased brother , from the Benevolent Fund , aud then Lodge was closed . The banquet was given in the Prince ' s Hall , and waa admirably served by Bro . E . T . Brown , of the Broadway , Ealing .

In propoaing tho first toast , that of the Queen , the W . M . said fche Lodge waa to be congratulated on now having a suitable place in which to hold its meetings . After years of fitful wanderinga they could say they had found a haven of rest ; this might be looked upon as ono of the many happy results of the truly great ; and prosperous

rule of the gracioua lady who had for over fifty years presided over the destinies of this land . A period when Civilisation , the Arta and Sciences had made greater progress than iu any similar epoch . After the toast of the M . W . the Grand Master had been effectively given and heartily and loyally responded to by the brethren , tha

toasfc of the Pro Grand Master the Earl of Carnarvon , the Deputy Grand Master the Earl of Lathom , and the rest of the Grand Officers Present and Pasfc was given , coupled with the name of W . Bro , G . Lambert P . G . S . B . In reply , Bro . Lambert thanked the brethren for tho great cordiality with which thoy had received the toast , in

response to the kindly , not to say eloquent , remarks which fche W . M . had been pleased to make respecting tho great work necessarily to be gone through in order to have the business of thia great Order conducted on proper business lines . Personally he could truly state that from the M . W . the Grand Maater down to the lafceafc

appointed Grand Officer , each was actuated with one idea—thac was to discharge whatever duties devolved upon them with freedom , fervency , and zeal . Bro . George Coop , their W . M ,, was well known to him ( Bro . Lambert ) as a volunteer of over 20 years' standing , and a zealous worker in whatever would conduce to the good of

the Craft , or to any Lodge in which he might be a member . He ventured to prophecy a prosperous year dnring the time Brother Coop presided over their Lodge . Bro . E . C . Porter gave tho health of the Worshipful Maater , a toasfc which was received with considerable enthusiasm . Since the

Worshipfnl Master had been initiated into the mysteries of Freemasonry ho had worked hard , distinguished himself in tho Craffc , and gained many honours . He was now P . M . of two other Lodges , and

they had , therefore , every reason to be prond of their Worshipful Master . In turning over tho government of the Lodgo to Bro . Coop , which he ( fche speaker ) did with much pleasure , knowing they wonld a Y o a good Maater , he with all hia heart wished him a bright anti

THE installation meeting of this Lodge took place afc fche Jubilee Buildings , Ealing on Saturday , the 12 fch ultimo . Owing to the large attendance , through the kindness of the Chairman of fche Ealing Local Board ( Mr . E . M . Nelson ) , the Board-room was placed at the disposal of the Lodge . Assistant Steward . The addresses were impressively rendered by Bro . H . Kasner . A sum of ten guineas waa voted to the friends of a deceased brother , from the Benevolent Fund , aud then Lodge was closed . The banquet was given in the Prince ' s Hall , and waa admirably served by Bro . E . T . Brown , of the Broadway , Ealing .

In propoaing tho first toast , that of the Queen , the W . M . said fche Lodge waa to be congratulated on now having a suitable place in which to hold its meetings . After years of fitful wanderinga they could say they had found a haven of rest ; this might be looked upon as ono of the many happy results of the truly great ; and prosperous

rule of the gracioua lady who had for over fifty years presided over the destinies of this land . A period when Civilisation , the Arta and Sciences had made greater progress than iu any similar epoch . After the toast of the M . W . the Grand Master had been effectively given and heartily and loyally responded to by the brethren , tha

toasfc of the Pro Grand Master the Earl of Carnarvon , the Deputy Grand Master the Earl of Lathom , and the rest of the Grand Officers Present and Pasfc was given , coupled with the name of W . Bro , G . Lambert P . G . S . B . In reply , Bro . Lambert thanked the brethren for tho great cordiality with which thoy had received the toast , in

response to the kindly , not to say eloquent , remarks which fche W . M . had been pleased to make respecting tho great work necessarily to be gone through in order to have the business of thia great Order conducted on proper business lines . Personally he could truly state that from the M . W . the Grand Maater down to the lafceafc

appointed Grand Officer , each was actuated with one idea—thac was to discharge whatever duties devolved upon them with freedom , fervency , and zeal . Bro . George Coop , their W . M ,, was well known to him ( Bro . Lambert ) as a volunteer of over 20 years' standing , and a zealous worker in whatever would conduce to the good of

the Craft , or to any Lodge in which he might be a member . He ventured to prophecy a prosperous year dnring the time Brother Coop presided over their Lodge . Bro . E . C . Porter gave tho health of the Worshipful Maater , a toasfc which was received with considerable enthusiasm . Since the

Worshipfnl Master had been initiated into the mysteries of Freemasonry ho had worked hard , distinguished himself in tho Craffc , and gained many honours . He was now P . M . of two other Lodges , and

they had , therefore , every reason to be prond of their Worshipful Master . In turning over tho government of the Lodgo to Bro . Coop , which he ( fche speaker ) did with much pleasure , knowing they wonld a Y o a good Maater , he with all hia heart wished him a bright anti
