npHE annual meeting of the Champion Conclave , No . 26 , which was well _ l . attended , was held at the Palatine Hotel , Manchester , on Tuesday , 15 th ult ., Bro . Fletcher Armstrong Supreme Ruler . Successful ballots were taken for Bros . Charles and Sigismund Heller , both of the Prince George Lodge , No . 308 , and they will probably be inducted at the next meeting .

The principal business of the evening was the installation of the S . R .-elect ( Bro . R . T . Redman ) , the ceremony being performed by Bro . John Marshall Grand Visitor Secretary , assisted by Past Supreme Rulers Bros . F . Armstrong , Buckley Carr P . G . G'dr ., and T . H . Scholfield . The appointment and investiture of Officers for the following year also took place , after which the Brethren adjourned to a very excellent dinner , provided by the new host , Bro . Logan 30 ° . Songs , recitations , & o . were given by various Brethren , and acted as an agreeable break to the toasts and speeches . A pleasant evening was spent .

Archdeacon Stevens P . P . G . Chaplain of Essex gave an interesting lecture on his recent trip to Egypt , at the Earlham Hall , Forest Gate , E ., last Monday . The reading was illustrated by some capital " snap-shot " photographs , taken during the trip , which were shown on a screen by aid of a lantern .
